Growl!
Emerging from the mist, an Abomination appeared, wielding a hammer and a mace. It wasn't just one or two. A dozen of them emerged simultaneously.
“Huh, trash! If all you can do is rely on your body to attack me, then you deserve to die!”
Slash!
Slash!
The Northern General swung his arms in succession, his sword flashing through the air at incredible speed.
With a single flurry of strikes, two Abominations collapsed to the ground, their bodies severed.
Slash!
Slash!
Elsewhere, the Southern General did the same. Leaping into the air, he managed to cleave through two Abominations at once before immediately turning to attack another monster.
At Gold tier, fighting these Silver-tier monsters posed no difficulty whatsoever.
More Abominations continued to emerge.
To deal with them, both generals moved with greater alertness and speed, covering their soldiers whenever necessary.
Growl!
Another growl, deeper and louder than before, echoed from within the mist.
Rather than feeling afraid after defeating all the Abominations, both generals felt challenged by whatever was about to appear before them.
Roar!
It didn't take long for them to discover the source of the growl. A three-meter-tall monster stood before them, its body covered in thick black fur.
With eyes as red as blood, it was the same type of Blood Bear that Adrian had fought the previous day.
Whoosh!
Its two claws swept forward at incredible speed, forcing the generals to use their strength to evade the attack.
“Good heavens! Has this monster also reached the peak of Gold tier?”
Although they were at the same tier, both generals sensed something unusual about the bear. The aura radiating from the monster was far too powerful for its level.
“Fighting it one-on-one won't give us much of an advantage. We need to work together,” the Northern General said before moving to the bear's left side.
“Alright. Let's attack together!”
The Southern General nodded, knowing what he needed to do as he leaped to the bear's right side.
Their intention was to divide the monster's attention, preventing it from focusing entirely on either one of them.
Thud!
Thud!
As though allowing them to attack its body, the bear remained motionless as both swords struck it.
“Damn! Its hide is incredibly tough!”
The impact actually sent both generals flying backward. Not only was the bear resistant to weapons, but its body seemed to possess an invisible force capable of knocking them away.
“Let's attack again!”
Unwilling to give up, both generals got back to their feet and launched another assault.
Thud!
Thud!
Thud!
Realizing that their weapons couldn't penetrate the bear's hide, the two generals resorted to punches and kicks in an attempt to incapacitate their opponent.
“Even if its hide is incredibly thick, it shouldn't be able to withstand our attacks forever, right?”
Just because its skin couldn't be pierced didn't mean its internal organs were immune to damage. If they struck hard enough, those organs would eventually be damaged too, wouldn't they?
At least, that was what both generals believed as their hands and feet continued to rain blows upon the bear without pause.
Roar!
The bear opened its mouth wide, releasing an invisible shock wave that slammed into the Northern General and sent him flying ten meters backward. He nearly crashed into the protective fence.
“What? How can its power be so terrifying?”
The Southern General was stunned for a moment. Being at the same tier didn't mean they possessed equal strength. It was clear that the bear's power far surpassed theirs.
Roar!
Still reeling from the shock, the Southern General failed to anticipate the next attack. He could only watch as his body was hurled backward, nearly crashing into the protective fence before he managed to regain control of himself in midair.
But the bear didn't stop there.
Seeing both opponents fall, it charged forward once more.
Raising both arms into the air, it fixed its bloodshot eyes on the Northern and Southern Generals' heads, its gaze filled with murderous intent.
Whoosh!
Both generals immediately pulled their bodies backward, causing the bear's fists to pass within inches of their faces.
“My lord, it seems they won't be able to hold out much longer. Please allow me to help them.”
Yemima could no longer remain still. Having faced this monster before, she knew all too well how powerful and terrifying it was.
“No. Wait a little longer.”
Adrian didn't move from where he stood. Although he knew his generals could be crushed at any moment, his expression remained calm.
It wasn't just the two generals who were struggling. The undead soldiers were also beginning to feel overwhelmed.
More and more Abominations continued to pour out of the mist, forcing the soldiers backward until they were nearly at the protective fence.
What exactly is Lord Galael thinking?
Yemima had no choice but to obey his orders. Even so, questions continued to fill her mind.
He even deliberately left the turrets inactive from the very beginning.
Adrian had used his screen to deactivate the laser cannons on the roof and along the fence, as though entrusting the entire defense to his undead soldiers.
The problem is that there are simply too many monsters for them to handle. If I don't intervene now, I don't know whether they'll even be able to hold out for another five minutes!
And just as Yemima had predicted, five minutes passed, and all the undead soldiers had been pushed back against the protective fence.
The two generals had even been thoroughly beaten by the bear.
That wasn't all. Nearly half of the magical grass had been trampled under the monsters' feet, allowing the red mist to move closer to the fence. If the grass was completely destroyed and the monsters managed to reach the fence, they would have no choice but to fight desperately inside the perimeter.
Roar!
Growl!
But that wasn't even the worst part.
At that very moment, a horde of zombies surged forward like a tidal wave, followed by dozens of Abominations and nearly ten bears bringing up the rear.
With savage expressions, they looked ready to destroy the fence and everything standing in their way.

“You do realize you've interrupted my morning, don't you? Arthur, you'd better not disappoint me.”“I would never do that, my lord.”The white-haired man bowed before presenting the holographic screen in his hands to Kaelen.“My lord, look! Of the ninety-nine shelters, only eighteen remain! That means the number of people opposing you has decreased significantly!”“Excellent!”A broad smile spread across Kaelen's face before he burst into laughter. As a lord, he could actually open his own screen and see what was happening for himself. But, of course, he was too lazy to do so.“With so many lords surrendering to me, wouldn't it be more appropriate to consider me a king rather than a mere lord?”That was what he thought.“Besides, why should I bother checking everything myself? That's their job! As my subordinates, they're the ones who should take care of it for me!”All he had to do was relax and enjoy himself while others handled everything. Just as they were doing for him that morni
Chapter 28 - The Fate of the Lords and Kaelen’s Delight
“So these will be exchanged for Bronze-tier soldiers? No problem. With them joining my forces, my army will only continue to grow.”After all the bear and Abomination corpses had been thrown into the altar, only the zombie corpses remained. Although they were the most numerous, they were also the lowest-tier monsters.Even so, the thought of a massive army of undead soldiers marching before him made Adrian’s heart race with excitement.“What? No soldiers are appearing?”His expression immediately changed when ten zombie corpses were thrown in, yet nothing emerged.Instead, the altar produced a hundred Attribute Stones. That meant he would receive ten Stones for every zombie corpse.“All right. It’s fine. At least I’m getting something out of this.”Although he couldn’t hide his disappointment, it wasn’t as though he had gained nothing. There were around three thousand zombie corpses, which meant he had now obtained thirty thousand Attribute Stones.“With reserves like these, I won’t h
Chapter 27 - Reaping the Rewards
“Your strategy was truly brilliant, my lord!”Yemima was helping several injured undead soldiers rest in a special room on the first floor. Around half of the army had sustained serious injuries. Although none of them were life-threatening, the soldiers still needed complete rest to recover.“We managed to kill so many monsters! We didn’t let a single one of them escape!”Drake spoke excitedly. Although his facial expression was difficult to read, consisting of nothing more than a skull, his voice was filled with joy.“I can hardly wait for the next Evernight!”Jaxon was quick to add his own comment. Both generals had also suffered serious injuries after fighting the Blood Bears. However, compared to the victory they had achieved, their injuries meant nothing.“Get some rest.”Adrian patted his generals on the shoulders, a broad smile spreading across his face.“You fought very well tonight. You deserve some rest.”A faint light appeared in the eastern sky. Sunrise was approaching.Al
Chapter 26 - Time for a Counterattack
“Yemima said the monsters’ withdrawal was deliberate preparation for Evernight, didn’t she? That means if we’ve encountered everything from zombies to bears, there’s a good chance those are the very monsters that will come after us, right?”An hour before Evernight began, Adrian had already devised a plan to lure as many monsters as possible toward his shelter. He hadn’t done so without making preparations.“Zombies and Abominations are still manageable. Those Blood Bears are the hardest ones to defeat.”His undead army would have no trouble holding back the zombies and Abominations. But as for the bears, only Yemima would likely be able to deal with them.“But with the turrets’ help, it shouldn’t be a problem either,” Darla said. “Even if the cannons can’t kill the bears, they should certainly be able to scare them away.”Darla was simply trying to be realistic. Killing a bear was extremely difficult. Scaring one away was already a considerable achievement. There was no need to kill

Chapter 24 - The First Evernight
“The countdown begins.”The game system's voice echoed across the sky as the giant digital display showed 00:00:10.“Ten.”“Nine.”“Eight.”“Seven.”“Six.”Inside the room, Darla watched the computer screen and saw that the mist was now only a few hundred meters away from the outer perimeter. Given its speed, there was no way the countdown above them could be wrong. In just a few seconds, it would reach them.“Five.”“Four.”At the same time, Adrian stood in the second-floor lobby with his arms folded, his gaze fixed straight ahead. His expression was cold, and his eyes conveyed nothing but calm composure. The point in front of him marked the outer boundary of the region. And the fact that his greenhouse faced directly toward it seemed to suggest that the structure had been designed to confront the monsters that were about to arrive.“If a lord has truly been brought to this New World with the destiny of exterminating monsters, then so be it. I'll fight every last one of them.”“Three
