Chapter 25

“I can’t believe those two beings were standing tall together.” Maze exclaimed while he entered in Mansion with Lucifer and Tom after dropping Lily at her place.

“Yeah. The plan worked well. I told you before that there will come a day when these two mortal enemies will share a very strong bond.” Lucifer said with a smile.

He was finally smiling after a tough time that he had to go through. Although the wound on his chest was healed but it was still hurting a bit.

“So you guys means that those wild beasts and those extra white lifeless beings were enemies?” Tom asked trying to explain whom he was talking about as he forgot their names.

“Kid those beasts are ware wolves and those white beings are vampires.” Maze corrected.

“Yeah yeah The names just slipped from my mind..i know what they are, I have seen them in movies it’s just that they are more scary in real.” Tom commented.

“So answering your previous questions, yes they were enemies ready to have each other’s blood.” Lucifer said.

“Then how you managed to have them in one team?” Tom asked

Lucifer smiled and narrated what all things happened behind their back when they were busy with tom.

….flashback…

“Chris the entity attacking us is the half dead.” Luis told Chris who was sitting on his right on a long dinner table at the centre of field of Chris’s territory.

It was a big dinner setup for both the beings as for now they were living together in a same area to help them in case the entity attacked again.

All the direct family members and people of authority got seated on the long dinner table while others sat at different tables..with Anna and Chris facing each other.

“I know your concern Luis but we can’t directly come to conclusion if he is really the half dead. Plus I can’t just announce this to everyone knowing everything that was told by lord Lucifer.” Chris said.

From last 2-3 days Anna could feel the change in relationship of Chris and Luis. They were now getting used to each other. Although there were still many differences in opinion but most of the time they sort it out with few rounds of discussion.The only egoistic or problematic person for now was her brother. And she knew that if he keeps on going like this then soon he will end up calling trouble for himself.

While Luis and Chris were having a conversation, Chris slightly looked towards Anna from the corner of his eyes and noticed a tension on her face.

For that moment he decided to not point it out in front of everyone, but was sure that he would talk to her in-person.

Till the dinner was over, Chris and Luis came to a conclusion to ask Lucifer for help as they didn’t wanted to loose anyone specially before the actual face off with half dead.

“You alright?” Chris asked Anna when she was sitting all alone at the backside of cottage on a log of wood.

“Yeah I’m alright.” Anna replied while Chris got seated besides her.

He silently held her hand and softly said, “If there’s anything you want to share then you can.”

Anna loved the unusual warmth that she got from Chris’s touch on her hand plus his words were cherry on the cake.

She unknowingly tilted her head and placed it in Chris’s shoulder and said, “you are..warm”

“Yeah that’s the way we wolves are. You like it?” Chris asked.

“It…it feels good. Can I stay like this?” She asked

“Sure.” He replied and both of them sat together like that for sometime before Anna spoke again breaking the silence around them.

“I’m scared for my brother.” Anna said.

“Why?” He asked while both of them held each other’s hand with Anna’s head still in his shoulder.

“I know he has this big ego. And to satisfy it he can do just anything.” She said.

“Don’t worry. I won’t let anything happen to him.” Chris said but what surprised him was a dampness that he felt on his shoulder.

He turned his face towards Anna only to notice that she was crying. He turned towards her and cupped her face, “heyy..why are you crying? I told you nothing would happen to your brother.”

Anna cried even more listening to these words, she wanted to say something but because of excessive crying she was not able to say a word. Chris pulled her towards himself in a hug and patted on the back of her head to calm her down.

“Calm down Anna! Is there anything else you want to say?” He asked knowing there was something more that was bothering her.

Anna tried to get control of her breath and looked upto Chris, who wiped tears off her cheek with his thumbs and raised his eyebrow “go on! I’m listening.”

Anna brought her hands up and held his hands tight that were on her face as she said, “My brother had just gone mad. He is just not understanding how important you are for us..for me.”

Chris gasped at this sentence as he felt his heart skipped a beat. “What do mean?”

“He just doesn’t understand that I can’t loose you.” Anna said and again started crying without realising that her talking in titbits was making Chris grow more impatient.

He looked at her with questioning eyes and asked “Anna please tell me clearly what happened.”

“When we all were at dinner table, brother was looking at you and and Dad with anger, So I asked him within my mind about what was he thinking about…So..So he replied that He don’t want you here. He can withstand you becoming father’s favourite. He’s planning to kill you Chris.” She revealed everything which raged Chris but all his anger was for Her brother.

As fas as Anna is concerned all he had for her was care and somewhere in a corner of his heart was love.

He was flattered at how brutally honest girl she was. He knew she had a heart of gold.

He smirked and replied, “I won’t die.”

Anna looked upto him and said “You will not leave me right?”

Chris nodded in a no while Anna again hugged Chris while he held her in his embrace.

Both of them have realised that they do have an attraction towards each other but a warewolf and a vampire…can this ever happen?
