Chapter 26

..flashback continues…

Chris and Anna were sitting quietly on that log of wood..for that moment they just wanted some peace which they got besides each other.

After for about 30 minutes of silence Anna was the first one to speak up, “So what have you thought? About Jake?”

“Nothing till he does something wrong. I cannot punish him just because he is planning to hurt me or something.” Chris replied.

Anna rested her hands on the log and looked upto the night sky, “what do you think about us?”

Chris looked at her with a faint smile on his face and replied, “solace”

“Huh?” She asked

“I have never felt this level of comfort with anyone. With you my soul is at peace.” He genuinely replied but this time looking at the bright stars in sky.

“Same goes for me. Is it right? I mean to feel a certain way for someone who is not like you?” She asked.

“I don’t know! But I’m absolutely loving this new feeling.” He simply replied.

Anna chuckled and said, “Mee too.”

Both of them sat quietly after this conversation and after sometime both of them wished “good night” and went straight to their rooms.

It was 4 in the morning and everyone was still asleep in Chris’s territory.

Chris’s chamber was a big but cozy room with warm lighting all around.

He was asleep on his round bed, wearing only his shorts covered with a soft comforter. All thanx to his extraordinary listening capabilities that he heard very light footsteps coming towards him. With a quick action he tossed the comforter and with that tied the person present in his room.

He was about to hold that person under the comforter tight but then heard a feminine voice, “stop it’s me!”

Chris’s eyes grew wider as he let go of the person of known voice, “What are you doing here Anna?”

Anna removed the comforter from her head that obviously messed up her hairs. “Are you out of your mind? Who throws comforter like that?”

She was annoyed but still got lost at the look of his perfect abs until Chris’s voice brought her out of her trance.

“Umm..I thought it was an attack on me…self defence you know.” Chris justified his actions.

Anna felt a bit bad and then said, “You felt so because I told you about my brother trying to kill you?”

Chris sighed and said, “I won’t say that wasn’t one of the factors. But seriously you should know when you are at a certain designation you are prone to such attacks.”

Anna just nodded and sat on one side of the bed while Chris sat besides her and asked, “So what brought you here at the middle of night?”

“Middle of night? It’s already 4.” Anna corrected.

“You are not here to correct me on what time it is?” Chris asked

“Of course not. Jake was not in his room. So..I just got scared if..you know” Anna said.

“Got scared? For your brother or for me?” Chris asked.

Anna’s eyes grew wide at first but then she hurriedly got up and said, “now that if he’s not here, I should take a leave.”

“Wait!” Chris held her hand and stopped her. He went upto her and slowly held her from her waist with his left hand while his right hand found it’s place on her shoulder.

Anna could feel a rise in her heart beat as she looked upto Chris and asked, “what?”

“You came here for me?” Chris asked softly.

Anna just nodded yes in response and Chris smirked at the innocent look on her face.

He leaned close to her and placed a light kiss on her forehead and said, “Don’t worry. Nothing’s going to happen to me..and I’ll just go and see where your brother went at this time.”

She looked upto him in concern and replied, “please be safe. And find him soon.”

Chris nodded and replied, “Now go to your room and have some sleep.”

“No.if you are going to find my brother then I’ll come with you.” She said.

“Have you sweared upon something that you will never listen to me?” Chris asked.

“I have already decided that I’m going to find him..if you wanna join well and good otherwise I’m leaving alone.” Anna said knowing Chris would never let her go all alone.

“Such a stubborn girl you are..let me get dressed first, then we can leave.” Chris said after rolling his eyes.

Chris went to his walk-in closet and came out wearing a loose T-shirt and trouser.

Chris and Anna were in the dense forest and Anna was continuously trying to reach Jake but couldn’t.

After around 45 minutes of searching Anna finally heard “Run!”

“Wait I heard something in my brain! Someone said Run.” Anna exclaimed.

“I know you vampires have this telepathy kind of power but why the hell I’m able to hear exactly same thing?” He questioned

And then again a loud voice came, “Run” and bot of them realised that it was Jake who was actually shouting out loud and asking them to run from there.

He came running towards their direction and asked them to Run.

Chris and Anna obliged and all three of them ran to the same direction.

“Why are we running?” Chris asked.

“It’s the half dead..Run faster.” Jake told them and all three of them ran and reached the original residence of the Vampires.

“Let’s get in” Anna suggested and both the men followed.

They entered the house and locked the door behind them.

“You know that won’t work in case of half dead.” Chris said.

“Well that’s the first thing of yours that I’m agreeing on.” Jake said.

“Leave all this. What were you doing in the jungle?” Anna asked in irritation.

“I’ll go wherever I want. And you are not supposed to ask.” Jake replied

“Jake it’s not that old time when you can roam around anywhere you want. Ok?” Anna said.

“I can take care of myself..” Jake replied

“Yeah I just saw how you took care of yourself…Run!” Chris interrupted the conversation.

“And you are no one to judge.” Jake bluntly replied.

“You know when a person lacks brain then he must listen to others.” Chris commented that raged Jake as he went upto Chris and held him from his collar.
