“There is no need, I don't want to be a sissy like him. He should be the one asking for my help, not the other way round.” Austin blurted out sarcastically.

They were all shocked by his audacity; how dare he talk to the son of Mr. Benson in such a manner.

The lawyer made a light cough, all eyes averted towards him. As the room fell into a deep silence. “You have done your part and permit me to do mine.” He uttered. “You heard what is written in the will, so the decision is left for Monica and Austin.”

Monica's blood was boiling, while Austin kept a calm demeanor.

She knew she would risk the chance of claiming everything her father left for her if she refused to get married to Austin.

Austin couldn't fathomed why Mr. Graham made such a decision. He is not ready to get married and wouldn't force Monica if she refuses.

“I can't.” Monica stood her ground.

There is no way she would agree to get married to Austin.

“You heard her,” Austin glanced at his wristwatch. “If you don't mind, I have other important issues to handle. I will take my leave.”

Before they could utter a word, Austin was already out of the house. Monica and her mother felt disappointed and cursed under their breaths.

Gerald saw their crimson outlook and decided to ease their mind with his words. “Don't worry, I will help you out. There is always a way for issues like this.”

After Gerald and the Lawyer left, Monica had an unease feeling boiling within her. She paced back and forth, unsure of what to do.

She was so lost in thought that she didn't notice when her mother entered her room. Mrs. Sarah tapped her daughter's shoulder twice bringing her back to earth.

Monica's face twisted in anger; she let out a soft sigh. “Mom, I can't take this enough more.”

“I understand, my darling; I don't want you to get married to that lowlife. He can't offer you anything. We need someone like Gerald, whose family is wealthy, so we can maintain our statues in the city.”

“What do you think I should do, mom?”

Mrs. Sarah hesitated for a moment, before responding. “You should offer him money or something valuable. I believe he would accept it.”

Do they think Austin would accept anything? Is he even interested in getting married to Monica?

She narrowed her eyes at her mother, “Are you sure he will accept it.’

Mrs. Sarah shrugged. “There's is no harm in trying,”

As Austin left Monica's place he made his way to the car show. He was invited by Jude Bills, one of his collegemate. He anticipated Jude's taunting because he recently got himself a big bag from his business and wanted to show off.

Austin came casually, just like other invitees, As he went into the massive exhibition hall filled with roars of engines. The smell of gasoline. The parking space was packed with cars, Lamborghini, Ferraris, and porches. He could afford all the cars before him if he wanted, but he preferred keeping a low profile.

“Hey, Austin.” He heard his name from afar. “You made it.” Jude sounded confident, he was standing next to a red Mustang.

“How does it feel to be in the presence of greatness?” Jude teased, his eyes scanning Austin from head to toe for something to mock.

Austin raised a brow but kept mute.

“Are you still playing the role of the local doctor?” Jude taunted. “Come on, man. You attended the best school in Auburn. But you can give me a call, and I will help you secure a job as a janitor in my father's company.”

James flashed a smile and looked directly at the car Jude was standing by. “So what's this one?” Austin asked, pointing at the Mustang, “Nice car, pretty flashy for someone who can barely keep their own life together. That's ridiculous.”

Jude's smile faltered for a moment, as he saw the people around him laugh after Austin's statement.

“Oh, this? It's just a little something I recently got for myself. I am guessing a guy like you wouldn't understand the value of something like this. You know, you have got to have money to appreciate the finer things in life.”

Austin shrugged nonchalantly. “Yeah, you might be right. I don't drive fancy cars but I own a lot of them. Something you might never dream of having in your entire life.”

Jude's expression darkened. “Look at you, a local doctor. Who couldn't afford a nice dress is talking about owning a car. You should come off it, don't try to brag. I heard you came here with a cab, Do you even know how to drive.”

Jude's friends burst into uncontrollable laughter. Austin joined them leaving them confused, he patted Jude's shoulder. “You can keep talking to fill your empty life,” Austin muttered. “As for driving, I can do better than you.”

The word hit Jude harder than he had expected; his confident smirk faltered, replaced by a brief flicker of doubt. But it didn't last long, he quickly composed himself to avoid embarrassment. Seeing how his friends were staring at him.

“You are full of shit.” Jude snapped. “How about we make this more interesting since you can drive better than me.”

Austin smiled, “let's make a bet,”

“Really, how much do you have? One grand, or ten grand. Don't come begging when I win you.”

Austin shook his head, “Let's make it a million dollars,”

The crowd behind gasped in shock, and indistinct and distinct murmuring started.

“A million dollars, Where did you get the money from?” Jude smiles, “Don't tell me being a local doctor pays better this day. I will make it ten million dollars that's if you win.”

“Deal, and whoever loses will bow to the other person. Failure to do that, he would have his hand cut off.”

Could Austin drive, as he claimed?

What kind of bet is he making with Jude?

“He is digging his grave? Did he think he could win Jude?” A voice said from behind.

“He is bragging, I am sure he wouldn't even catch up with Jude when the race starts.” Another said.

“We all know at the end of the race he would bow to James.”

“Your guts are high, I accept your challenges. I will stake ten million dollars and you come up with your one million dollars. But don't say I didn't warn you; you should quit now. It's too early; I can forgive you.”

“Bring it on, buddy,” Austin said confidently.

The car show was something filled with excitement, but nothing was as interesting as the challenge between these two. Jude's friends trailed behind him, and Austin found himself the centre of attention for the wrong reasons.

“You should place your bet on me, I am going to win.” Jude boasts.

He walked towards an elderly man, “Can I borrow your car.” He asked.

Never, he is trying to do something fake so you will get to reward him.”Austin smiled, “What’s cruel is denying a soul her peace. She’s not evil.”“I can handle this, your son is suffering from an autoimmune disease. And not some spirit thing. Dr. Oliver and I will handle this, you can send the man away. Besides you said the priest did his job.”The priest was a well-respected man, whom Vincent paid millions of dollars just to come over to his house.
