The crowd laughed at Austin, “He doesn't have a car. Quit acting and ask for forgiveness.”

The old man nodded, “But you have to be careful; this is a race, not a birthday party.”

“I understand, don't worry,” Austin said firmly. “You should place a bet on me.”

The old man couldn't help but wonder where Austin got his confidence from.

The race was set up quickly and the two of them made their way to the track. The shiny Mustang revved its engine, a deep growl of power that sent Vibrations through the ground, while James was in a beat-up, old car.

The crowd couldn't help but snicker at the disparity between the two vehicles.

Austin ignored the whispers; he knew he didn't need a fancy car to prove a point; he wanted a car. He could immediately send a message to his butler, and the best sports car would be brought to him. What mattered was his skill and determination.

As the race began Jude shot off like a bullet. While Austin has a different approach.

He didn't reply on speed or flash. He relied on his intuition and his experience behind the wheel.

At first, it seemed impossible for Austin to feel like the race was over; Jude's Mustang tore ahead, leaving Austin trailing far behind. The crowd cheered their laughter and jeers were directed at Austin.

Austin didn't phase; he focused, watching the road ahead of him, anticipating the sharp turns and sudden change in the track. He was waiting for the moment and when he saw it, he took his opportunity. The old car may not have had the speed, but it had the agility and that was all he needed.

As the race continued, the crowd kept mocking Austin. But Austin was focused he began to catch up. With every twist and turn. He edged closer to Jude.

The Mustang, on the other hand, was starting to show signs of strain. Jude was pushing it too hard, and the vehicle was beginning to lose control.

The crowd began to murmur, as they noticed Austin's skill. Some have their mind beating fast in fear of losing their bets.

Jude was too focused on maintaining his lead to realize that his own arrogance was working against him.

He was scared of losing to Austin, he wouldn't want to be embarrassed knowing how much the people around here respect him.

It was clear Austin was gaining fast, and Jude, still oblivious, took a sharp turn that was too aggressive,e, causing his car to fishtail.

Gasping erupted from the crowd, leaving them in confusion and disappointment as Jude struggled to gain control. His Mustang was sliding dangerously across the track.

Austin held steady, taking the curves with precision closing the gap and with one final burst of speed. Austin crossed the finish line, winning the race by a hair.

The crowd erupted in disbelief, Jude's friends were stunned, and Jude himself was frozen in shock as he watched Austin pull up.

Jude's face turned red, as his fist clenched in humiliation. “You cheated,” Jude stammered.

His pride has been shattered by Austin; The crowd begins to show their displeasure with Jude; they lost their money betting on him.

“I didn't cheat, you are too blind to understand what it takes to win. It's not about the car but it's about knowing what you are doing.”

“It's a liar, you cheated.” Jude was trying to avoid facing the humiliation.

“Stop the nonsense, come off with the acting and give me my money. Don't forget we placed a bet, bow to me or have your hand cut off.” Austin said, crossing his arms.

“I will never bow to you, not even in my next life.” Jude shook his head.

Austin's jaw tightened, “You are such a coward, How do you expect people to respect you when you can't stick to your word.”

“Bow to him, loser.” The angry crowd murmured.

Jude's face flushed in embarrassment, Austin had made him laughing stock in his own game.

“How did he even win the race?” Jude thought inwardly.

The crowd began throwing things at Jude; they were angry; the manager of the arena and security men who witnessed the incident from the beginning couldn't help but Intervene.

Seeing the manager Jude wanted to show off but got a shocking embarrassment.

“Jude, we have rules and regulations here. You made a bet with this young man, and you must keep to it, or you will face a severe punishment.” The manager said with a serious tone. His gaze was stern with no sign of fear for Jude.

Jude was at the losing end; Austin didn't only win him, but Jude was losing the respect of people around him.

He fell to his knees seeing how the crowd and manager had turned against him.

He bowed his head, then shot Austin a deadly glare.

“It's not over.” He threatened. As he rushed out of the scene. His expensive car, his perfect image, all of it crumbled in the face of Austin's humiliation.

“Sir, I will have your money ready for you.” The manager said.

Austin nodded as he watched the manager and the security men walk away.

The elderly man rushed towards Austin with a hint of excitement. “You won, how did you do that?” He asked.

“It's all about determination and knowing the perfect time to hit the track.” He replied, handing over the key back to its owner.

“I won the bet. Thank you.” The elderly man said, smiling.

Austin returned the smile, “You believed in me, How about I get you a new car.”

The man was stunned, unsure if he was dreaming or if Austin was just playing a prank on him. “Are you for real?”

“Yes, sure. Come on.”

They both walked towards the direction where he saw the manager walk in. Austin received his money from the bet; he handed everything to the elderly man, who couldn't help but thank Austin.

To Austin, the money was nothing but humiliating Jude was more important than the money.

Austin heaved a sigh of relief the moment he got home; He shoved out his phone to find numerous missed calls from Monica and her mother.

His smile faded instantly, those two wouldn't stop pestering his life. He knew he needed to do something about them.
