Chapter 4: AN IMPOSSIBLE TRUTH

The woman walked in and snatched the glass from Miguel's hands,

Looking at her from head to toe, Miguel knew he had never seen this woman before. She was tall with dark long hair, her cologne alone could tell this was a person who swam in money, she wore a two piece shirt and trousers fitting her body to perfection,

Her face…when Miguel's gaze shifted to her face, he realized she was looking at him and this time, she looked angry

“What did you think you were doing?!” She demanded. Miguel didn't know what to answer

'you are a coward if you think the way Forward when you are going through a hard time is killing yourself. How many more times are you going to do this huh?” She asked running her hand in her hair in frustration

“Twice in 24 hours, are you crazy?, At this point  I wouldn't be surprised if I found out you are not the person I think you are!”

“Excuse me, but do I know you?” Miguel asked, he wondered why the strange woman was scolding him like they knew each other,

“You don't know me” the woman said with a sign,

She sat on the edge of the bed burying her face in her palms, Miguel watched her every move with a keen eye

“I am sorry. It's just that it has been so hard to find you and now that we did it was when you tried to kill yourself” the woman explained but still, everything she said didn't make any sense to Miguel

“You were looking for me?, Why?” He asked, he wondered if this woman was also a daughter of the late old woman who wanted her share of revenge

“I am Sorry Sir, I…”

“Sir?” Miguel let out a laugh

“You must have mistaken me for someone else” he said, the woman in response reached for her bag and removed an evelope which she handed to him. Miguel opened it and took out some papers

“I know this is sudden but have you ever heard of Ray Romans?” The woman asked, Miguel shook his head, he flipped through the file but could barely understand anything has he had never had the luxury of going to school or learning how to read.

“My name is Rain Romans, I am your brother's wife” the woman told him. Miguel was silent for a while waiting for her to tell him she was only joking but she didn't, her expression was serious which made him believe she was mistaken 

“Your biological father is Ray Romans, he recently died five days ago” the woman continued. Miguel sat up in bed throwing the file in front of The woman

“Miss Rain, I think you have me mistaken for someone else” he insisted the woman let out a small smile

“ Miguel, you were abducted the day you were born and left at an orphanage. Your real name is Miguel Romans and I have been sent here to take you back home” Miguel shifted uncomfortably due to the hand cuff. Rain’s eyes drifted to his hand, she grabbed her phone and dialed a number,

“Please could you come and uncuff my brother-in law?” She asked in a polite voice, a moment later, the two police officers that had been questioning him entered the room and uncuffed him

“We are so sorry Ma'am we had no idea who he was” one of them said while hanging his head low, Rain just dismissed them without a word.Miguel was still in deny yet he couldn't help admiring how confident the woman was, it appeared whoever she was, she was a very powerful figure to instruct the police like they were her bodyguards,

“Are you okay?, I would have dealt with that woman that wanted to get you arrested but am thankful because of her, you are alive, had she not rescued you, this would have been a different story” 

“Excuse me but if you say you are who you are then why exactly did you come here at this moment. I mean if my family wanted me, why couldn't they have searched for me and found me when I was still young?” He asked, even though he knew chances of what she was saying being true where slim, His birth parents should have found him sooner, maybe he would not have endured everything he went through, he would not have been a failure in life

“Has I mentioned, the Romans, especially your father had been looking for you from the moment you were taken but it was only now we were able to locate you” the woman explained but that still didn't add up for Miguel

“How did you find me now if you couldn't these years back?” He asked, Rain opened her month as if she was about to say something but closed it yet again with a sign

“I believe I can not tell you that information” she said standing up she put the file back in bag and turned to him,

“I will ask one of our security to grab you some clothes you will change into so we can leave” she said

“Leave?” 

“Yes. Your family is dying to meet you, we need to get there as soon as possible” Has Rain was walking out, Miguel's gaze followed her,

How could any of this be true?. Over the years, he had wondered who his real family was and why the abondoned him, given his bad luck, he had assumed his parents where a poor low class family that couldn't afford another mouth to feed considered they had other children ,

With a sign, he stood up from his hospital bed and peeped out the window and that's when he saw 10 black SVU cars packed in front of the hospital, Rain was standing there telling one of the many armed bodyguards surrounding her something. It was then that Miguel realized he wasn't dreaming, the conversation he just had with Rain was real, but how could this be possible? He wondered ….
