Chapter 6: THE ROMANS FAMILY

Miguel had slept most of flight, when he opened his eyes, the private jet had landed behind a huge mansion,

“Where are we?” He asked confused looking at the tall Manson that could easily be mistaken for a hotel,

“Home” Rain replied with a smile,

They got down and where yet again welcomed by 20 guards making way in between,

Miguel watched as Rain lead the way like a queen her head held high, he followed behind her feeling lost. There on the door stood what he assumed was his family.there was an old woman he assumed was Lady Alice. She was old and had a walking stike that looked like it was made out of gold. She had on a long black robe, her face was stiff showing no emotion. Two men he assumed where his brothers stood behind her with a younger woman who he assumed was his mother, she looked at him one time, their gaze held but she looked away almost immediately as if she didn't want to look at him, Miguel was confused by this but perhaps he misunderstood her looking away.

When they got to the family, Rain introduced them exactly as Miguel had thought,

The whole situation was awarkard, Mateo was the first to hug him

“Welcome home big brother, am very disappointed you don't look much like me” he jokely said with a laugh, Miguel laughed too even though he was shaking inwardly

“I am Leo” Miguel held out his hand which Leo shook, his face was blank, no emotion at all, Miguel noticed how much they looked alike just has Rain had previously mentioned 

“Nice to meet you” he politely said

“You do look like your father after all” Lady Alice spoke with a click of her tongue, Miguel only forced a smile until his eyes landed on his mother,

This time, she was looking at him again, 

“Mom” be began his voice a little shaky

“It's late, we should head back to bed, we will talk more tomorrow” his mother said dismissively and lead the way inside the house.

Basically everyone agreed with her and began to walk back inside the mansion,

“I saved my number in your phone, if anyone gives you trouble, just call me” Rain whispered to Miguel has she walked behind him.

When they reached inside, Matteo suggested to show Miguel his room while the others went to their rooms. Miguel found himself feeling disappointed as he followed behind Mateo, he knew they wouldn't accept him at first glace because they knew nothing about him just as he didn't know anything about them, but except from Mateo and Rain, they all seemed cold towards him. Miguel was so deep in thoughts that he didn't even notice Mateo stand in front of a room

“Here!” Mateo called, Miguel composed himself

“Is this it?” He asked

“Yes, Mom had it cleaned for you but if you don't like it, you can always change rooms tomorrow. This house has more rooms than People “ he joked

“Thanks” Miguel said and opened the door

“Good night Big bro, it is nice to finally have another sibling instead of that cold hearted Leo” Mateo commented with a sign, Miguel wanted to know what he meant by that but didn't want to seem as if he was snoopy so he kept quiet though still wondering the kind of person Leo was.

Miguel closed the door behind and leaned on it taking a moment to look at his room, truth was he had never been in such a luxury space before, everything screamed money from the Mable floor where he could easily see his own reflection to the king sized bed that had white beddings, everything looked perfect.

He felt the softness of the bed and felt too dirty to even sit on it so he went to the bathroom to take a shower. He was taken aback by how big the bathroom was, it was three times the size of his apartment, Miguel took a sit wondering whether he was dreaming or not.

The next morning, a maid woke him up at 8Am, this was the first time he had woken up so late in five years, he figured it was because of how comfortable the bed was,

“Breakfast is ready, the family is waiting for you” The maid said, Miguel nodded and headed downstairs following the maid closely so as to not get lost.

The whole family was gathered at the table, he felt embarrassed for waking up late as he sat down

“Good morning” Rain greeted with a smile

“Morning” Miguel answered back, the only other person that greeted him was Matteo, Miguel couldn't help feeling perhaps he wasn't as welcomed as Rain made it seem which made him wonder why 

Breakfast was served and they all ate in silence, when they were done, Lady Alice asked the three brothers including Miguel to follow her to her room.

Mateo kept complaining that he wanted to show him around while Leo and his grandma where silent,

When they eventually got to the old woman's room,

She asked them to take a sit, the whole room was big enough to be a stand alone apartment. It basically had everything from a corner bar to a small kitchen and a tv room with a couch and an office table, Miguel sat besides his brothers as the old woman began to address them

“Migual, am sure Rain has filled in on what you are to this family “ the old woman began, Miguel nodded

“From my own understanding, you dropped out of school when you were 12 which means you are iliterate” Miguel felt ashamed, it sounded bad when put that way but nevertheless, he nodded

“For the past decades, we all thought you were dead. Ray would have been happy that we found you” The old woman paused letting out a sign

“I have hired a private tutor, you will began your classes tomorrow, in the meantime “ she turned to Leo

“Could you at least take my presence seriously?!” She snapped seemingly angry, Leo continued to press his phone without responding to her, the old woman clicked her tongue

“Mateo, show Miguel around the house while I deal with this lunatic of a grandson” Lady Alice said visibly annoyed..
