Mark came to think that he deserved the prize for both the unluckiest and luckiest person in the world.

OK, Mark didn't consider 'unlucky' to have met a beautiful woman like Briana Vasconcelos.

The big problem, in his view, was the completely unexpected situation in which he found himself with the same Briana!

Everything seemed to conspire for Mark not to escape from his predicament, starting with the same Briana who locked the car with a technology unknown to him.

Then, it seemed that the drug had given Briana some strength from beyond to subdue a man.

As Mark had noted before, the car was parked in a spot away from the other cars.

Also, the employees usually have lunch at a nearby restaurant and walk there, so no one would enter the parking lot and find one of the cars in this unexpected situation.

Mark almost strangled himself struggling to prevent Briana from taking off his shirt, but, with no way out, he no longer stopped her and resigned himself.

He convinced himself that Briana

Patricio sat alone in his living room, dressed in loose sleepwear, sunk into an armchair that suddenly felt far too small for his anxiety. The silence of the apartment was nearly suffocating him, each passing minute sharpening his worry about Katrina’s absence. When the phone finally rang, he lunged for it with relief.“Hello! My love, you finally answered—”“This isn’t Katrina,” came a firm male voice. “This is Mark.”Patricio stiffened at once. “Mark Ferro?” he asked, alarmed. “Why are you holding Katrina’s phone?”“Mr. Nogueira, listen carefully,” Mark said, his tone cold and controlled. “Your girlfriend came to my house. She disturbed my wife’s peace, and when she left, she refused any escort from my staff. A maid found her unconscious near the staircase, with traces of blood on the steps. An ambulance has already been called.”Patricio sprang to his feet as if the chair had betrayed him. “What did you say?” he shouted. “My girlfriend fell down the stairs?”“That’s correct,” Mark

The door to the master suite swung open, and Mark leaned into the corridor just as Regis came running toward him, hastily tying a robe over his pajama trousers.“What’s going on?” Mark demanded. “That sounded like Domitila.”Regis grimaced. “Lord Ferro, I thought the walls of your suite were soundproof.”“Twice tonight, piercing screams made it through,” Mark replied grimly.Briana appeared beside him; curiosity etched across her face. “What’s happening?”From below, Domitila’s voice rose again, sharp with panic, calling for Mark to come downstairs at once.“We’re going down,” Mark said, already moving. He had not expected Briana to follow, but she did, keeping pace with the two men as they descended. In the vestibule, the sight that greeted them froze everyone in place. Katrina lay unconscious on the marble floor, her body twisted at the foot of the staircase. It took only a glance to understand what had happened. She had fallen (no, she had rolled) down the stairs. Briana gasped, he

“Now that you’ve seen it, leave and never come back,” Briana stated with chilling indifference.Turning her attention to the servants, she added, addressing Regis and Julian, “This is the last time Miss Vasconcelos enters here without a prior invitation, understood?”“Yes, Mrs. Ferro!” Regis confirmed.Julian gently took hold of Katrina. “Come on, Miss Vasconcelos...”Katrina snatched her arm away. “I know the way out!”She shot Briana a look of pure venom, as if everything was her fault, before retreating with slow, heavy steps, defeat weighing heavily on her shoulders.“Whew! Looks like we finally closed the book on that one, huh?” Regis sighed in relief.“Finally,” Briana agreed.******Christopher’s phone began to ring somewhere on the nightstand, its sound muffled beneath a chaos of movement and noise: breathy laughter, bodies shifting, and the unmistakable, rhythmic commotion of lovemaking vigorous enough to rattle the headboard. For a moment, nothing happened. Then an arm final

  • Chapter 970 Time to Face Reality

“The idea has crossed my mind,” Mark admitted, his voice tight. “The idiot must be operating out of a regular commercial building, completely unsuspected, especially since he was reported dead so many years ago.”“Be calm before you start scouring every building out there,” Clayton advised.Mark let out a sarcastic breath. “All we need to discover is that he’s been at Glamour this entire time.”Clayton, missing the joke entirely, mused, “Then it would be sensible for you to do a thorough inspection, wouldn’t it?”Mark was about to respond with, "I was kidding," but then he reacted as if a lightbulb had suddenly illuminated in his brain.Would it really be a good idea?Suddenly, out of the suite, hysterical, demonic shrieks and screams from Katrina were audible down the hallway. The wails were so horrifying and shrill that the laptop's speakers picked them up, making sure Clayton heard them too.“Is there an exorcism happening at your house?” Clayton asked, genuinely horrified. “Or are

Gilson returned to the living room of the Vasconcelos mansion, a noticeable calm settled over his face after his phone conversation with Celia. The secret, he felt, was safe for now.He immediately noticed Claudia, however, who sat scowling, her expression sour and sullen.“Excuse me, everyone,” Gilson announced playfully, his voice light. “I intend to cheer up Mrs. Vasconcelos in our suite tonight.”Claudia's eyes widened in complete shock. “GILSON!” she shrieked.Elara clamped a hand over her mouth and let out a small, understanding 'pfft.'She instantly got the joke: Claudia, the notorious stick-in-the-mud, was clearly suffering from a lack of raw, rough s*x with her husband.Gilson gave her a mocking, half-lidded look. “What is it? My mother has been insinuating you have lovers. Let’s prove that rumor wrong!”Althea, always suspicious, chimed in sharply. “What is it, Claudia? Is intimacy with my son in the marital bed too arduous for you? Have you already sated yourself with your

Gilson walked briskly down the corridor, unaware that his wife was in the sitting room being nothing short of venomous toward their future daughter-in-law. His attention was fixed entirely on the phone pressed to his ear, his voice low and urgent as he spoke to his mistress.“Celia, what happened?” he asked. In her bedroom, wearing a nearly transparent nightgown he himself had given her, Celia sat on the edge of the bed, recounting the evening’s unexpected intrusion.“Your daughter showed up and scared me half to death,” she complained.“What do you mean she showed up?” Gilson hissed, panic sharpening his whisper.“Well, we’re friends,” Celia reminded him breezily. “She thinks I live here alone.”“And she didn’t suspect anything?” Gilson asked with fear.“That’s the problem.” Celia’s voice tightened. “Tonight, she started to. She asked how I afford a house this big with my assistant salary, especially now that I’ve been fired.”“And what did you tell her?” he demanded, tension lacing
