The package was red and heart-shaped, very romantic to match the occasion.
Mark waited for her to open it.
However, Celia, in uncontrolled rage, threw the package into the kitchen trash can where they were!
"Celia! What does this mean?" Mark couldn't contain himself.
"What do you think? I'm getting rid of these cheap gifts bought at the stationery shop! Is this how you want to save our marriage?" Celia retorted.
"You didn't even open the package! Don't you want to know what's inside?" Mark approached the trash can.
"If you take the package out of the trash, keep it! I don't want anything reeking like garbage! That's the last thing I need!"
Frustrated and unable to take it anymore, Celia went to her room and slammed the door shut.
Mark, scared, retrieved the package from the trash bin.
He hoped the contents wouldn’t be broken.
Discouraged, Mark decided to go to the bathroom with the contents.
Once inside, he closed the door and sat down on the latrine. The wrapping was undone...
If Celia had accepted and opened the gift, she would have seen a gold-colored credit card and a high-tech wristband.
These were not gifts that you find at street vendors’ stalls and craft fairs!
The gold card had a practically inexhaustible limit with the flag of a very exclusive bank in Braspolis, the city where they lived.
Only a few clients of this bank managed to get this rare credit card.
The wristband had a monitor that would give Celia access to the true identity of her husband.
Taking advantage of the solitude, Mark turned on the bracelet and began to operate it.
Then the small monitor acted as a camera, and Mark was able to see faces on the other side that he hadn’t seen in a long time.
“Lord Ferro!” A few middle-aged gentlemen greeted him, wearing military uniforms.
“Good evening, generals and gentlemen of Aurelia’s military force.” Mark greeted them respectfully.
Even so, the gentlemen behaved as if Mark was the one with the power. “As we are aware, we want to extend our warmest congratulations on completing one year of marriage.”
“Thank you very much, gentlemen.” Mark didn’t display anything wrong.
“We hope that the marriage between you and Lady Ferro lasts more and more years!” Another high-ranking member of the Military Force saluted with reverence.”
“You gentlemen are very kind.” Mark gestured in acknowledgment.
If Celia were seeing Mark, she probably wouldn’t recognize her husband.
That sweet and dreamy guy, always fast and eager to please her, was now speaking to officers of the Aurelia Military Force with seriousness and a powerful aura!
After several greetings, Mark said goodbye to the generals and continued to fiddle with the wristband until his cell phone rang.
Mark picked up an old-style phone and answered the call, smiling slightly when he saw the name on the caller ID: Linda Mattes.
“Hello, Miss Mattes?”
“Lord Ferro... It’s a pleasure to contact you after almost a year.”
“How have you been, Miss Mattes?” Mark softened his voice a little but did not lose the aura of leadership.
“Everything has been under control.” Linda responded promptly, “With the first anniversary approaching, everyone was eager to receive some contact from you.”
“Well, here I am. I’ve already greeted old acquaintances.” Mark replied.
“Yes, and several gifts have arrived here at headquarters from different places and people. What is the address so I can send all the packages?” Linda asked efficiently.
Mark didn’t know if he could continue to fight this strange feeling.
“Lord Ferro?”
“Miss Mattes, I’ll tell you what happened here, but I hope this stays between the two of us for now.” Mark made up his mind.
“What happened?” The voice on the other end broke.
“Lady Ferro asked for divorce today.”
There was silence on the other side for a few seconds. Afterward, Linda regained her ability to speak.
“But... why does she want to do this right now?”
“Because she thinks I’m a poor wretch, and she’s tired of living in deprivation.” Mark’s voice was worthy of a funeral.
“But Lord Ferro, she doesn’t know that you had to fulfill the agreement to live in anonymity for a year if you wanted to rest and live with her. I understand that she doesn’t know who you are, but asking for a divorce right in the day before... it even seems like a joke!”
Mark smiled at the corner of his mouth. Yes, it seemed like a joke.

Still hesitant, Briana accepted it. She peered into the mug.Her point of view: the coffee was hot, dark, and strong — exactly the way she liked it.She took a small sip, then another. Just the familiar, bitter taste. No strange sensations. No warning signs.“Yeah,” she said, letting out a long sigh. “This morning’s been rough.”“Want to talk about it?” Luana asked gently.Briana exhaled again and nodded. “I visited Katrina. Meanwhile, at the offices of Glamour, Mark stepped into his workspace and was immediately greeted by the aroma of fresh coffee. A new girl was serving a cup to Karl.Mark tensed for a moment, memories of Viviana flashing in his mind — but he quickly shook them off. It wasn’t fair to judge the new barista for the sins of her predecessor.“Mark!” Karl called out brightly. “How’ve you been? I thought you were at the police station.”Mark blinked. “Police station?”The barista smiled politely and poured him a fresh cup without being asked, clearly recognizing his importance.“Yes,” Karl went on. “You and Brie are still taking down Lawrence Sodré, aren’t you?”“Ah. Right,” Mark said, snapping back into the moment. “Well, Brie’s testimony will be key. We just got word that the District Attorney accepted the charges.”“Lawrence is toast,” Karl said with satisfaction. “What about Katrina?”Mark pursed his lips. The barista quietly rolled her cart away, sensing the conversation shift.“That gi

The door creaked open, and Nadir entered, catching wind of the conversation almost instantly.“Oh — am I interrupting something?”“Hello...” Roberto rose politely. “Mrs. Vasconcelos?”Sandro, still focused on the contract, gestured without looking up. “Darling, this is Roberto. He represents the anonymous donor.”Nadir smiled and shook the young man’s hand. “How are you, young man?”“Very well, thank you. I was just telling your husband what a pity it is that he isn’t the company’s CEO.”Nadir chuckled, a warm sound, careful not to distract Sandro from reading. “Things are changing, Roberto.”“Glad to hear it.”Sandro, satisfied, placed the papers back on the desk. “Alright, Roberto. I agree with everything. I’ll sign... quite literally.”“Fantastic. It’s been a pleasure doing business with you.”As he reached for a pen, Sandro glanced at the cover sheet. “I must confess, I’ve never heard of this company — Nosso Lar?”Roberto smiled, enigmatic. “As I mentioned, it’s new.”Though Nadir

At Vasconcelos mansion’s elegant living room, Briana sat with her grandmother, Althea. The mood was light and warm, the tension of old misunderstandings long forgotten. There was laughter in the air, a peace that had eluded them for too long.Althea, graceful and poised as ever, gestured to the seat across from her.“Sit with me, my dear,” she said, her voice rich with affection.“You look like a queen this morning, Grandma,” Briana replied, her words sincere rather than flattering.Althea let out a hearty laugh, delighted. “Thank you! So, tell me — what’s new in your world?”But Briana shook her head, smiling. “I came here to hear your news, not the other way around.”Althea's tone shifted gently. “I'm still worried about what happened to you, sweetheart, with that whole drugging incident.”A subtle tension returned to Briana’s shoulders. She couldn’t tell how much Althea truly knew.“Your father told me that Mr. Sodré tried to drug you — twice — and planned to kidnap you,” Althea we

At Vasconcelos Company, Claudia sat confidently in the CEO’s chair in Gilson’s office, legs crossed with the poise of someone who believed she belonged there.Across from her, Nadir leaned against the edge of the desk, a bemused smirk playing on her lips.“Comfortable?” Nadir asked.Claudia’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “Yes, as comfortable as sitting on my hot, virile husband's lap at three in the morning. You don't know what that's like, do you?”Like Briana, Nadir bit back a sharp retort — she wanted to mention that she’s used to ‘ride’ Sandro until five in the morning, often with him handcuffed to the bed. But she held her tongue.Like mother, like daughter.Nadir straightened up, her tone shifting into professional mode. “Let’s stick to business.”Claudia’s mood soured. “What business? Chapter 605 You’re Hopeless, Katrina
Mark entered the presidential office of LCN with his usual formality, Susana Linz following a few steps behind. Without saying much, he went straight to his desk, his expression sharp and composed as ever.“It’s been a while, sir,” Susana remarked, breaking the silence.“I’ve been working from home. Or at Glamour,” he replied, turning to face her. “But what I need to do can’t be done there — not when I have to share an office with Karl.”Susana arched a brow. “Something related to your true identity?”“Exactly.”Mark leaned down, turned on his computer, and then settled into the presidential chair behind the desk. The hum of the machine filled the brief pause.“Congratulations on dismantling that prostitution ring disguised as nightclubs, Lord Ferro,” Susana said, her voice tinged with admiration.“That was just a glimpse of what the citizens of Aurelia can expect from me once I take the throne,” he answered.“You’ll use it to your advantage, no doubt.”“I will.
