The apartment where Mark and Celia once lived still bore the marks of abandonment and poverty, worsened now by neglect and the absence of constant care.

The air was heavy, the space cluttered. Yet, Vargas lounged on the dingy couch, idly scrolling through his phone, his lips curling into a faint smile as he chuckled at a comedic reel.

The front door creaked open, and Regis stepped inside.

His nose wrinkled in distaste at the sight of the disheveled apartment.

The instincts of a butler immediately kicked in, compelling him to search for a broom as he passed Vargas, who remained engrossed in his phone.

The trending dance music playing from Vargas’s phone added to the room’s chaotic ambiance.

Moments later, Regis returned with a battered broom, its bristles worn and frayed.

“Is this all we have?” he asked, holding up the broom in dismay.

Vargas finally looked up, surprised. “Hey, we’re not here to clean. We’re here to watch over our prisoner.”

Regis shot him a stern glare. “Get off that

Mark was in his study at Ferro House. It seemed that today, he wouldn’t be going to work. Following Briana’s advice, he decided to focus on important matters, such as what exactly happened between them regarding Lawrence Sodré. Was the threat completely over? Mark woke up with an idea. While he sat at his desk waiting, the door opened. Regis entered, carrying a pharmacy bag, and handed it to his boss. “Here it is, Lord Ferro.” “Thanks a lot, Regis.” Mark took the bag. “Now let’s see what these people are up to.” He placed the contents on the desk: several small boxes or packages of legally produced aphrodisiacs available in pharmacies. These pills had been previously tested and approved before hitting the shelves. Therefore, no one would be implicated or linked to Lawrence if they used one of these. Regis wanted to know more. “Are you still thinking about the trouble Lawrence caused?” “Unfortunately, Regis, what Lawrence did will be etched into the history of Braspolis, per

  • Chapter 680 Controversial Photos

“Hey, do you think that idiot is going to call Briana Ferro, ordering me to be blocked? Katrina Vasconcelos was the one to hire me!” Sergio puffed out his chest like a rooster. “Are you sure you'd rather be backed by HER?” Heitor grumbled. “Listen to what I have to tell you: I went to deliver the contract you signed to the headquarters, but she wasn’t there.” “She doesn’t punch the clock from nine to five.” Sergio shrugged. “In fact, I know for a fact she was in bed with someone when I called to warn her,” Heitor added, somewhat brusquely. Sergio’s eyes widened, and he made a ‘PFFF’ sound even with his mouth dry. Then he started to laugh, slowly but loudly. “HA, HA, HA... Who would’ve thought! Looks like that little slut didn’t learn her lesson, huh?” “No, she doesn’t stop. Incredible how she still hasn’t shown up pregnant.” Heitor shook his head, acting as if he were her priest. Sergio was about to suggest something, but decided not to — the idea was too controversial. Howev

  • Chapter 679 A Blessing for Some?

Feeling he would be exposed, Patricio jumped out of bed and hurriedly got dressed. He put on his dress pants without finding his underwear, thinking there was no time for such trivialities. “OK, OK, we’re coming!” Patricio approached the door, turned the key, and unlocked it. However, Milton’s kick was so precise that the door swung open, and Patricio was thrown to the floor with the inertia. Milton and Claudia entered Katrina’s room. What they saw left them almost jaw-dropping. Patricio was getting up from the floor, his dress shirt buttoned unevenly and crooked, his belt and pants also wrong, with some of the waistband missing. Only his right foot was in a shoe, and the open zipper of his dress pants scandalized Milton. Claudia, however, gave a lustful look ‘down there,’ understanding why Katrina was so wild about her lawyer’s d*ck. But such admiration and approval of her daughter’s depravity lasted only a few seconds when Claudia remembered why she was there. She crossed he

  • Chapter 678 Putting an End to the Little Party

Wanting to act like the head of the family, Sandro made a decision: he gathered all his strength and spun on the floor, now on top of Nadir, causing her to let out a brief squeal of surprise. Then he managed to free himself from the blankets, sticking his head out and lying down beside his wife, panting and grimacing in pain from the fall. “This floor is so hard, it feels like solid concrete!” Sandro complained. “It’s the new porcelain tile floor, dear.” Nadir still remained hidden under the blankets. “Back to the subject, don’t you think Katrina has already complained to her father?” Sandro looked at the ceiling. “No. I heard her secretly talking to the lawyer on the phone, hiding in the library. I was going to go in and pick out a book to read,” Nadir revealed. Sandro nodded. Nadir caught her niece, but couldn’t grab the desired book, and to make up for it, she decided to pin her husband on the bed for another mischievous marathon... “It would’ve been better if you had gone i

  • Chapter 677 The Next Step

Katrina had to catch her breath and clear her throat before speaking. Her appearance was pathetic: deep dark circles under her eyes and her hair all disheveled, looking like she had been struck by 1,000 volts. “My next step is to sink that damned guy,” Katrina finally declared. “No jealousy, dear Patricio. If necessary, I’ll have to sleep with him.” Patricio’s smile faded, feeling an urge to pounce on Katrina and brutally pin her down once more... “What are you talking about? The idiot was begging for a role, right? What’s the point?” “When the idiot realizes he’s acting in a series that’s in danger of being canceled, he’ll roar and cause problems,” Katrina reasoned, looking at the ceiling rather than him. “That’s why I need to deceive him so he keeps doing what we agreed. What’s the best way to deceive a man than using our p*ssy?” Patricio made a look of outrage. Was she talking about him too? “I still don’t quite understand why you’re doing all this.” Patricio frowned. “If you

  • Chapter 676 Signed Contract

The next day dawned promising rain this time. The tide was rough, fueling the excitement of surfers and young adventurers who enjoy challenging the rip currents. However, at Sergio’s elegant house, located in another upscale neighborhood, he didn’t seem cold despite just wearing a nearly transparent white linen pajama pants while reading the contract Heitor had handed him in the living room. Heitor avoided looking at Sergio from the waist down, impatiently waiting for his client’s signature. “This series mentioned is second to last on a list of fifty programs.” Sergio, as expected, wasn’t going to make it easy. “Heitor, you should have demanded a more prominent series.” Heitor took a deep breath as if to say, ‘Here we go...’, then said, “Sergio, you don’t understand the great opportunity you have in front of you.” “Starring in a failed series?” Sergio asked sarcastically. “No, reviving the ratings by being the person responsible for it. Can you imagine how your fans will react w
