Ch.2 - Slave

When Xiang Chen opened his eyes, he found himself in a dense forest that he didn't know where.

"Is this earth?"

That was the first sentence Xiang Chen uttered upon arriving at this place. He looked around, even though it was foreign, but Xiang Chen felt that this was not earth.

“The natural energy in this place is very thick, thicker than the magical world. Isn't it like this there will be many strong people on earth? But as far as I know there isn't any supernatural power on earth,” Xiang Chen jumped up, flying up to a height of hundreds of meters.

Xiang Chen spread his arms out, feeling the fresh breeze as he closed his eyes.

“I don't think this is earth, then where is it? Why did I get thrown into this place? Is there a mistake in the cross-world magic circle?” countless questions in Xiang Chen's head.

“I'd better get some information first. Just in case and not to attract attention, I'd better not fly,” Xiang Chen landed on a branch then jumped onto another tree branch and continued like that, moving North looking for anyone he could ask.

After a few hours, Xiang Chen saw in the distance a caravan with 5 horse carriages, 20 more people dressed in black guarding the caravan.

Xiang Chen sped up his movement until he landed not far from the caravan.

The caravan guards immediately became alert, some even drew their weapons.

"Calm down gentlemen, I just want to ask a few things," Xiang Chen didn't want to conflict with anyone for now.

The men in black looked at each other then one of them walked forward.

"You want to ask a few things right?" The man was already in front of Xiang Chen.

“That's right,” Chen nodded.

"Then can I see your hands?"

Xiang Chen raised his eyebrows then showed his hands.

After a while...

"Sir, what is the meaning of this?" Chen saw that his hands were tied.

“Hahaha, kid. I don't know where a naive brat like you came from. But your face is handsome and your body is also good, I think you can be sold at a high price.”

All the men in black laughed loudly.

“Are you slave traders?” Xiang Chen remained calm, not showing any resistance or trying to loosen the ropes that bound his hands.

“That's right and you've been caught by the slave trader. Soon you will be sold into slavery. Remember not to fight or we can't guarantee your limbs will be complete!”

"Ha ha ha ha....!!"

"Come with me, get into the horse carriage!"

Xiang Chen was pushed quite roughly.

When the mosquito net was opened, you could see that it was an iron cage inside. Inside the cage were many people tied up. Their clothes looked shabby and dirty as if they had not bathed in days, some were even injured.

"Wow.. it turns out that you have caught a lot of people huh, are there also many in the other 4 carriages?" Xiang Chen asked with an indifferent expression.

“Of course, we are professional slave hunters and traders,” the man smiled proudly, “Young man, it's a shame you look like a beauty who can't hold a sword. If not then maybe we will recruit you to be a part of us.”

"A tempting offer, but I have no interest in becoming a slave hunter."

“Then enjoy your days as a slave! Hurry inside!” the man opened the iron cage then pushed Xiang Chen inside.

Chen entered and looked for the most comfortable seat.

"Yo bro, you look gloomy," Xiang Chen greeted a young man his age in front of him.

“Don't you understand the current situation? Seeing you smiling and that innocent face of yours pisses me off,” The young man couldn't believe anyone could be so relaxed in this situation.

“What is there to be afraid of some insects like them? I can kill them easily,” Xiang Chen smiled faintly.

"Even joking has a limit," the young man sighed, "if you can beat them so easily, why did you end up just like us?"

"Because I'm not stupid."

The young man was getting annoyed. Because he's not stupid? It was obvious he was so stupid as to not understand the situation they were in. Being a slave was definitely a nightmare but he still managed to be so relaxed.

"Oh yeah guys, I'm Xiang Chen."

The young man was silent for a moment, looking at Xiang Chen who still had an innocent face "You can call me Chu Yan."

“Chu Yan, can you explain to me the general information of this world? Information like countries or continents, great powers and so on?” As long as there was someone to talk to, Xiang Chen wanted to get some information.

"Why should I answer your question?" Chu Yan turned his gaze.

"I'm just asking, not insisting. If you really don't want to answer then that's fine,” Xiang Chen shrugged his shoulders.

"Okay, I will answer it. I don't even have anything to do anyway,” Chu Yan sighed before answering Xiang Chen's question.

“I'm just a slave so I don't know too many things and don't expect the information I provide to be completely accurate. Where we are is the Chenwu Continent, in the Sun Empire to be exact!

As for the great powers in this empire, I only know of the Golden Sun Sect and Silver Moon Sect. As for the major powers in the continent, I don't know but I heard that there are 7 major sects!..

Cultivation level.. er.. I'm not familiar with the world of cultivators, so that's all I can tell you.”

"Is that all?"

"Yes, what else do you expect from an ordinary person like me?" Chu Yan somehow felt more familiar with Xiang Chen, “Judging from your appearance, you seem to be from a distinguished family, how can you not know such general information?”

“Ahaha, there's a bit of a problem with that,” Xiang Chen laughed awkwardly, “and I don't actually come from any family.”

"Haaah, I've been in this train car for days, haven't eaten anything, I'm hungry!" Chu Yan started to grumble.

"You want some bread?"

“Of course if there is, any food I will…” Chu Yan paused when Xiang Chen showed a piece of bread.

"Where did you..."

"Take it, you hungry right?"

“T-thank you,” Chu Yan took the bun then ate it voraciously.

Xiang Chen looked at the other slaves who could only watch Chu Yan eat. They swallowed hard, some even drooled.

“Shut up and calm down, you all should have your share,” Xiang Chen started to distribute to each of them one bun.

Even though their hands were tied, their arms were not so they could eat easily.

They didn't know where Xiang Chen got the buns from. All they saw was that the young man reached into his cloak and took out a loaf of bread.

After everything was done, Xiang Chen returned to sit in his place, which was in front of Chu Yan.

"Ah, I'm quite full already. Thank you Brother Chen,” Chu Yan said sincerely.

"Does not matter."

“Brother Chen, I've had enough of being in the train carriage all the time. Don't you have stories for entertainment?"

“Tell me.. I have some interesting stories. Let's listen carefully," Xiang Chen started.
