Chapter 3

Ray gasped for breath as he sprinted down the street, evading the clutches of the relentless security guards. With a sense of relief, he flung the bathrobe into a nearby dumpster before reaching for his phone to contact Sarah. To his dismay, her phone remained switched off, leaving him to ponder his next move.

After careful consideration, he extracted a business card from his pocket and dialed the number printed on it. "I accept your terms," he announced firmly. "I will reconcile with my father."

Fifteen minutes later, Ray found himself in a serene park, stowing away his new supreme bank card. With an air of nonchalance, he inquired, "So, what do the Garcias do, Eli? How wealthy are they?" The ever-obliging Eli Ledger responded with respect, detailing the extent of the Garcias' global businesses and investment funds. "Their wealth is immeasurable," Eli confessed. "During the Asian financial crisis in 2008, the Garcia Group played a crucial role in stabilizing our country's economy."

Ray was stunned by this revelation. He realized that restoring his relationship with his father would likely be advantageous. "Eli, will the Garcias test me with any businesses in the central region? Specifically, Oscorp Corporation ?" he questioned. Eli flashed a knowing smile. "Absolutely. You will have complete control over everything related to Oscorp Corporation ."

Ray's eyes glinted with a newfound sense of power. "Can I terminate any executives?" he asked. Eli nodded, "Yes, Mr. Garcia. Your words will hold immense weight and have the power to change someone's entire life."

Ray smirked, "I see. Someone is in for a world of trouble."

Eli gazed at Ray with a warning in his eyes before speaking up, "Mr. Garcia, Oscorp Corporation  is organizing a grand welcome banquet for the central region head of the Garcia Group in just five days. I wanted to inform you about it and see if you would be able to attend."

Ray casually waved his hand, dismissively saying, "Please have someone else represent me. I prefer to avoid the limelight and don't want to attend such events."

After Eli left, Ray immediately dialed Sarah's number again, and this time, she answered the phone. Ray could hear the distress in her voice as she wept, confessing that she had let her mother down and that she had even gotten into a physical altercation with James .

Ray didn't say much, but as soon as he discovered that Sarah was hiding at her colleague NoahJones's place, he quickly hailed a cab to go there.

When he arrived at Noah's apartment complex, she didn't mince her words and immediately lashed out at Ray, calling him useless and accusing him of doing nothing when his wife was being forced to sleep with another man. But Ray ignored the insults and walked straight towards Sarah, who was still trembling and cowering on the sofa.

As he comforted her, he reassured her that her mother wouldn't be going to prison and that he would make sure that James  and her shady relatives would face the consequences of their actions.

Sarah's expression froze as she gazed at Ray, taken aback by the unwavering determination in his eyes. It was a look she had never seen before - one that exuded confidence and self-assuredness. To her surprise, it seemed as though he wasn't merely bragging.

Standing nearby with her arms firmly crossed over her chest, Noahsneered and taunted Ray, claiming that he was shameless and jobless, and would have starved if not for his marital ties to the Peterss. She ridiculed him for daring to say he could handle James , implying that he was nothing more than a boastful fool.

But Ray remained steadfast, responding to Noah's mocking with a serious and composed tone. He revealed, to everyone's shock, that he actually owned Oscorp Corporation .

Sarah was so stunned by the revelation that she accidentally spilled her cup of hot water. Even Noah, for a moment, was left in disbelief before bursting into laughter and labeling Ray a foolish man. She continued to belittle him, but it was clear that Ray's words had left an undeniable impact.
