Kyle took the opportunity to taunt him more. He stopped nursing his wounds and held Lara by the waist. Pulling her closer to his body, he planted a kiss at her lips.

"Honey, we're going to have the media itching for more of the juicy news because our names would be on everyone's lips. You will be the envy of those colleagues of yours who have been chasing after me but could not get closer. They'll all watch me place the trophy in your hands. Hahaha."

"Ofcourse, you're the best my dear Kyle and my daughter deserves the best. Not some dumb pauper who has wasted eight months of her life. I'm glad that it's over now." Lovelyn chipped in.

Crystal had been without a word, she just sat at the couch watching all the drama. She suddenly stood up from her chair and walked towards the door. Opening it, she said. "It's the least I can do for my ex brother-in-law. Don't say I'm not being considerate because I just helped you open the door."

They all began to laugh at Crystal's little drama.

Prince thought that he had had enough of the insults and belittling so he decided to let them be. As he left the place, he kept cursing them in his heart. He was a few steps outside when he heard their hysterical laughter.

"So long." Crystal waved at him when he turned around. She was standing at the door and watching him leave.

As soon as Prince was outside the gates of the Villa, he brought out his phone to make a call.

Turning around, Prince glanced at the house one last time and swore to make them pay. He was so happy when he saw the pregnancy test and was close to revealing his identity to her before she dropped the bomb.

Thinking about it, he was glad that he hadn't said a word before learning the true character of his ex-wife. They had to embarrass him on his thirty fifth birthday. Prince shook his head as the events of the past six months came back to him.

"You're ashamed to introduce me as your husband. Maybe you're afraid that your colleagues would laugh at you and mock you for being my wife." Prince angrily said to her. It was just after her colleagues had finished flirting with him.

"If you had told them that I'm your husband, they wouldn't dare flirt with me before you. Look how they're disrespecting me before your presence." Prince was angry at her.

"I'm not ashamed of you Prince, you're my husband after all. My lucky charm. It's just that it's not yet the right time for me to tell everyone. You know that I'm a public figure. Just give me some time to put things together. I'll definitely flaunt you to everyone as my lovely husband." Lara responded to him but Prince was not convinced. Even though they loved each other, Prince knew that Lara was somewhat ashamed to introduce him as her husband.

Angrily, he left her standing at the place.

Lara didn't know that it was him behind her newly found success.

Prince laughed at the thought that they would soon meet their waterloo.

He was walking and searching for his friend's number that he didn't know when he entered the major road. He was still devastated by the news and turned out of events. His wife had suddenly become someone else's.

He had put in so much effort to find a decent lady. Prince thought that she was the one. Unfortunately, he was wrong.

"Hey, watch it. Maybe you have a death wish."

Prince heard someone yell at him and that was when he realized where he stood. Swiftly, he ran back to the pedestrian lane and saw some people casting him a questioning look.

"Is he okay? He looks like one who is tired of living."

"Yeah, maybe his ex has just broken his heart. He also looks like one who got into a fight. Look at all the bruises on his face and neck."

Prince heard the people gossiping about him but didn't care. He touched a part of his face and felt pain. It was then he remembered the fight.

He hasn't been feeling pain all these while. Maybe it was because that was the least of his problems. The shocking news he was trying to digest did not give him room to feel the pain from the fight.

Ignoring the two people gossiping about him and reaching a conclusion without knowing anything about him, Prince stood aside and placed a call to the people's hearing.

After a few rings, the call went through.

"George, send the driver to come pick me up at Midday avenue."

The gossipers glanced at themselves and wondered what Prince was blabbering about. What driver was he talking about? The man was just blabbering.

The two women gossiping about him glanced at themselves. There was a third person who just watched and seemed to be uninterested in the matter. They were sitting at the bus stop waiting for a bus.

Prince went around and sat close to them as he continued the call.

"Are you still there George?" Prince asked and the latter was jolted out of his reverie. He was still trying to comprehend what was happening. Why would Prince tell him to get the driver over there? Has he revealed his real identity to his wife and family?

All he knew was that Prince was trying to find out if his wife was really the person she married. If she was not a pretender.

"Really Boss, are you through with your undercover mission?" George tried to tease him but was immediately shunned.

"I'm not in the mood for jokes. Just do as I have instructed you. I'm waiting at a bus stop around the place." Prince ended the call and turned around to see three eyes that were about to pop out of their sockets.

Taking a quick glance at them, Prince looked away and shoved his phone into his trousers pocket while facing front. The women exchanged glances and kept wondering why such an unkempt man would speak with so much authority. Was he some kind of Boss?

After a few minutes, a black luxury car pulled over before Prince with George alighting from it. He wanted to get a first hand gist of what was happening so he came by himself. Why would Prince suddenly end the facade he put up when his wife had not proudly introduced him to the world as her husband.

"Prince, is everything alright?" George asked what concern when he saw the bruises on his face."

"Just take me home, I'll be fine. The bruises mean nothing compared to my shattered heart." Prince spoke as he strode towards the car causing his friend to be confused and the gossipers watching in awe.

Nala, the chief waiter, was standing before him , glaring daggers at him.“You're not allowed to use your phone when you're still working. Unless it is the close of work or during your lunch break which is not yet time.”Nala stretched out her hands and added. "Hand over the phone, now.”She wanted to confiscate Prince's phone for breaking the rules.Prince, on the other hand, did not find it funny. He was not going to hand over the phone and would stand his ground. Moreover, his phone was a very expensive type and Nala would raise brows at him if she saw it. The phone was worth more than her salary of over six months.“Why should I hand over my phone?" He retorted, furrowing his brows."Because you broke the rules. I told you earlier that laziness is not tolerated. You should be glad that it wasn't the manager who caught you answering calls during work hours." “I'm not going to hand over my phone for anything. Moreover, I'm still new here and yet to know all your rules.”Prince's re

Prince followed behind without a word as the man began to walk away. When they got to his office, he gave Prince one last glare before asking furiously.“Who are you and what are you doing here? Who even employed you in this establishment?”Speechless, Prince only stared at the man for a moment before giving a response. “I'm sorry for not reporting earlier. It's just that Nala didn't let me. She had asked me to get to work immediately and report to you later." The manager didn't comment on Prince's words. He just glared at him briefly before asking. "What's your name?”"My name is Prince." He replied immediately and earned himself another glare.“Don't you have a surname?" “I do." Prince quickly recalled the new surname George had given to him. The name was there with the man.His CV was right before the man and he could see all the details.“Then tell me your surname so I can be sure that you're not an imposter." The man muttered coldly.“My name is Prince David, Sir.” He replied t

Lara just stared dumbfounded at the messages on her phone. It didn't sound like it was Kyle who wrote the words. Her Kyle was loving and caring to her but the Kyle she was reading his message was now heartless and cold. He sounded like they were total strangers, or enemies rather.Lara tried to stop herself from shedding tears but she could not. And the next second, the tears began to drop. She had to quickly clean her eyes and pretended to be asleep when she saw her mother wake up.About an hour later, the doctor came to check up on her. She was going to be discharged the next morning and she could not wait to leave the hospital.“This place sucks." She muttered to herself as soon as the doctor was out of their sight.“I can't wait to leave this hospital." Lara hated the hospital just like her sister, Crystal. Unfortunately for her, she had no choice but to stay there for days since she was in a critical situation when she was brought in.“Of course, you'll be out of here by tomorrow

“You don't have to address me like that, since we're not at work. You can just address me with my first name.” George said to the lady in a calm voice and a glint in his eyes. With her face lowered, Liliane pursed her lips and nodded before replying. “Ok. George.”She lifted her face and casted a glance at Prince who seemed engrossed in what he was doing. She then stared briefly at George while smiling and added. "See you tomorrow evening then.”"I look forward to the dinner. I'll call you.”While Liliane walked out of the hall, George stared intently at her retreating figure while smiling.Prince soon showed up before his face and with a mischievous grin on his face, he said to George. “She's already left and you're still staring. Really?”George quickly turned his gaze to Prince before replying. "Have I been blind all this time? How come I'm just realizing such a beautiful young lady.”Prince gave him a dirty look. "What's that supposed to mean?” He inquired while still glaring at G

“What! Are you saying that my baby is gone?" Lara asked while forcing herself to sit up.She was still in pain but didn't think of it at that time. All she cared about was her baby and she still could not comprehend what her mother just told her.“I didn't quite get you, Mom. Repeat what you just said.”Lovelyn didn't say any more words. She only stared sadly at her daughter. "I'm so sorry.” She finally muttered another apology."Where is Kyle? He's supposed to be here with me. It was all his fault that I lost our baby." Lara was expecting that Kyle would feel pity on her if he saw how much pain she was going through. He might as well think again about ending their relationship and take her back.Unfortunately, she was wrong. Kyle had just got an opportunity to ditch her completely. With the baby out of the way, they won't have anything connecting them again.Lovelyn reached out and patted her cheeks a few times before giving a response. “Kyle was here earlier but he already left. “Doctor, how's my daughter and her baby? I hope they're both alright?" The doctor kept a long face and shook his head a few times before replying to them.“I'm sorry, Ma'am. We lost the baby. Fortunately, your daughter is out of danger now.”When Kyle heard that the baby did not make it, he felt really bad about it. Even though he claimed to get a DNA test done after the baby was born, he still believed that the baby was his.He knew that there was more than ninety percent chances that the baby was his. However, he said those hurtful words to Lara because he was angry. He wanted to move on from the breakup and also wanted her to do so.They'd just make plans on co-parenting after the baby was born and confirmed to be his.“Did you say that she lost the baby?” Lovelyn stepped forward and held onto the doctor's arm."Doctor, are you telling the truth?
