Chapter 4 - Attack by terrorists.

Once the deadline given for the projects was reached, numerous instructors came in and ordered the leaders of more than twenty group present in the hall to come forward and showcase the abilities of the technological artifacts that they built with the help of their group members. 

A boy named Kyrion, stepped forward with a sword that once activated, began to burn in a bright blue flame and produce waves of searing heat that spread out in all directions, which immediately caused the people behind him to take many steps back. Only the instructors remained where they were, since they could easily withstand such level of heat. 

"Good." Instructor Valzid said with a nod of his head.

"Next person." He leisurely said.

Another group leader immediately stepped forward with a metal-frame backpack that caused two pairs of massive foldable wings formed from a shiny, lightweight metal alloy to eject from certain hatches in the backpack, which was then accompanied by the ejection of multiple, narrow-muzzle rocket boosters that shot off controlled streams of flames and allowed the group leader to fly around and remain afloat in the air, at an impressive height of twelve feet above the ground.

"Beautiful!" Valzid said with the highly impressed nod of his head.

"Next!" He immediately called out. 

Quickly, the leader of a group stepped out with a gauntlet called Varljah Gauntlet, which upon activation, caused the gauntlet to immediately produce a bright glow of light and unleash twelve solid rings of dazzling, super-heated red plasma. 

"Beautiful!" Valzid said after effortlessly dispersing the reddish plasma rings that shot out from the Varljah Gauntlet. 

But before he could call out the group leader that was next to Lucianna to step forward and showcase the project that he worked on with contributive assistance from his group members, a really wild tremor suddenly surfaced and moved throughout the whole institute, causing some large structures to break away and fall heavily to the ground. Such as gigantic pillars falling upon some unfortunate people and instantly killing them. 

"What just happened?" Hunter's eyes shone with great bewilderment and perplexity. Then he suddenly felt that they were under attack by certain enemies, perhaps enemies of the institute, since that tremor seemed to originate from an external source below them.

Suddenly, without warning, a massive blast of solid blue energy struck the large hall they were in and instantly caused a large majority of the hall to transform into an enormous pile of rubble that quickly buried off some people.

"Guys, get out of here. The institute is under attack by cannon-armed adversarial forces." Hunter immediately shouted to his fellow students before swiftly running off to where he would find items that he would couple or combine into something that he would utilize in protecting himself.

Once Hunter shouted that, many students, including instructors, quickly returned to their senses from their horrified and tremendously flabbergasted states before beginning to run off in different directions too. 

As for the absolutely shocked Instructors who weren't expecting such a massive deadly attack on their training institute, they began to gather together to fight back the numerous groups of well-armed enemy soldiers that might be making their way up the building for a particular reason best known to them. 

As Hunter ran in a particular direction at top speed, he suddenly came across a single enemy soldier who stood dozens of feet away from him and immediately opened fire at him with great loathing and extreme detestation in his coldly gleaming eyes.

However, a War Mechanic instructor that was around there, immediately appeared in front of Hunter and unleashed a powerful, square-shaped layer of transparent purple energy using an energy-shielding gauntlet that he wore.

"Kid, get out of here. Let me take care of this evil enemy soldier!" The instructor confidently said, while Hunter nodded his head and immediately took off in another direction.

Many minutes later, as he ran at full speed and took so many turns because of his continuous perceptions of close-proximity gunshots and rapid firing, he arrived before a door to a massive room that was labeled 'Machinery Parts Store'. 

Quickly, he broke into the room and came before really large piles of different mechanical and electromechanical parts, including tons of parts of different machineries. Also, there were many small to large toolboxes lying everywhere on the ground. 

Looking at the different items that were placed here and there on large shelves and everywhere on the tiled floor, he immediately got to work.

So, by taking the items that he wanted which he dismantled down to the last piece and recombined with numerous other mechanical parts at a superhumanly fast speed; where only multiple blurs of his arms and wrists could be seen, he quickly came up with a pair of bulky mechanical arms that had different functions and could withstand concentrated machine gun fire for more than 5 minutes.

The right-arm mechanical limb will imbue him with strength to lift, push and pull a weight around 5 tons. While the left-arm mechanical limb had an array of roughly-created on-board melee-based weapons. Also, it had the function of strength amplification; around 2 tons.

Equipping his arms with the mechanical limbs, and wearing a lightweight magnetic-repulsion chest armor to electromagnetically deflect metallic shells and bullets that would be fired at him, which of course wouldn't do much against attacks from enemy soldiers that would be armed with powerful sophisticated weapons, but was as a strong precautionary measure against unexpected, gun-based attacks, he immediately set out.

After walking for more than 27 minutes, he suddenly heard footsteps in the distance, which then seemed like the owner of the footsteps was moving towards him in a hurried manner. However, the footsteps seemed scattered and unsteady. Unlike those of a soldier which were firm, balanced and steady.

Mentally preparing himself for a battle between him and presumably an incoming enemy soldier, he activated the mechanical limbs which began to make low-pitched whirring sounds and filled his arms with great strength.

As soon as the person appeared in front of him, Hunter quickly withdrew the fist that he punched out and spoke with an absolutely astounded expression in his face, "Lucianna, what the hell are you doing walking around? You should have found a safe place to hide yourself!" 

"I am scared, Hunter. I couldn't stay put in one hiding place. I am really scared. The gunshots I hear all the time, was like they were advancing towards me to blast my brains to bits." Lucianna who was heavily surprised to meet Hunter, said with a shaky voice and with the expression of fright written all over her terror-reddened face.

Then she spoke further with an inexplicable expression immediately manifesting in her face once she saw the large-sized, shiny metallic arms that produced whirring mechanical sounds, "Hunter, where did you get these from? Hope you didn't break into an armory? You could be heavily punished by the instructors once all these is over."

"Nope. I found a storeroom where tons of different mechanical parts are kept. Then I built these up from some of the parts that I found in the storeroom using some forges and special engineering toolboxes that are kept there." Hunter said and began to walk forward with great alertness and battle readiness.

Lucianna after hearing what Hunter said, had her eyes shine with unbelievableness. She just couldn't believe that Hunter swiftly built up these pair of powerful-looking mechanical arms from only parts that he found in a storeroom.

'Is that actually possible?' She questioned within herself as she silently followed behind Him.

After walking some more, they suddenly heard loud gunshots from a distance and a shrieking wail that ceased a second later. Then they heard footsteps from where the gunshot sounded out from, beginning to advance quickly to their location.

"This must be an enemy soldier. He must have a see-through eye-equipped device, or a head-mounted bio-thermal scanner for him to suddenly, swiftly locate us." Hunter calmly said to Lucianna who turned paler from terror. 

"Lucianna, quickly go far behind me. I want to go on the offensive against our incoming attacker!" 

Immediately Hunter said that, Lucianna ran very quickly to the back. While Hunter who was battle-ready and decisive, abruptly raised his right arm that was strengthened by the right-arm mechanical limb and instantly slammed it against the ground really hard. 

BANG! 

A powerful wave suddenly arose from the impact and traveled forward at a great speed towards the incoming enemy shooter, which then threw him off his feet and caused him to be flung like a small piece of rock for many feet into the distance. 

Whoosh!

Hunter who had regained his balance from the violent quake that originated from the powerful collision of his fist with the floor, immediately dashed out to where the enemy shooter was knocked to by the wave. 

Immediately he appeared before him, he abruptly sent out his right fist with a lot of force at the soldier's armor plate-covered chest.

BANG!

Once his mechanical limb-strengthened fist connected with the chest of the enemy soldier and delivered a force that caused the tiled earth beneath him to explosively shatter outward in a ripple-like manner, the enemy soldier was immediately exterminated.  

Hunter quickly picked up his weapon which was a thick-barrel, heavy-assault rifle that possessed the firepower of an actual cannon.

Due to the two quakes that traveled like waves to the bottom of the tall building and violently shook the entire place, but which were actually results of Hunter punching the floor really hard and viciously smashing the chest of a soldier against the solid ground, many enemy soldiers began to move to the area where they believed the quakes originated from. 

Hunter who understood what was going to happen next, immediately chose to return to the storeroom that he earlier broke into with the aim of increasing the firepower of the heavy-assault rifle that he carried with him. Or he would be barbarically eliminated by the group of enemy soldiers that were already making their way to the part of the building where he was located. 

The instant he arrived in the room with an excessively frightened Lucianna who had turned sheet-white from fear, he took more machinery parts that he found in the room and began to work on the heavy assault rifle. 

With his hands moving really quick and doing different things at once, showing that he possessed great inhuman dexterity, he was able to swiftly finish up with the modification and augmentation upgrades that he was performing on the rifle. Also, he had added many other firepower enhancements to it. 

Once he finished up with the rifle and seriously instructed Lucianna to stay put in the room, he immediately set out and walked with great alarm and carefulness for many minutes to where an elevator was located in the distance, since that is where he believed an advancing group of enemy soldiers will come out from to face him.

Bang! 

Bang! 

Bang!... 

Immediately the elevator doors began to open, Hunter quickly opened rapid fire at the group of enemy soldiers in the elevator from a safe distance, before slowly beginning to advance towards them. 

Then by moving his auto-firing rifle from left to right, and even at the ground of the elevator, he was able to eliminate the enemy soldiers that came for him. 

The rifle which had it cannon-level firepower upgraded and firing rate increased multiple times, was able to deal great damage upon the enemies within the elevator. The highly penetrative bullets fired from it, possessed a devastating power that was many times stronger than the destructive power that would be possessed by a five-ton spear moving at a great velocity of 20km/s. 

Huuuuuu! 

Hunter heaved a loud, long sigh of relief and immediately walked into the elevator to carry all their weapons and magazines with him, which he easily dragged with him to the storeroom that Lucianna was frightfully hiding in. 

Immediately he got there, without prior knowledge of how to disassemble the more technologically advanced combat rifles, he dismantled everyone of them down to the last piece like he had been doing this particular activity for decades. 

His speed, flow and ease in dismantling the rifles were utterly incredible that Lucianna who had been shocked since Hunter told her that he built up the mechanical arms from only machinery parts that he found in the storeroom, couldn't help but be shocked the more, such that she could only look at Hunter with great marvel and hope that he wouldn't take all the things that she harshly said to him to heart. 

With eyes that moved from corner to corner really quick as he assembled and melded numerous parts of the rifles with different mechanical parts that he found in the storeroom, he was able to come up with a large-sized rifle that had ten packs of twelve-battery cells, an electromagnetic energy core, an electricity-based velocity amplifier, and a powered high-speed rotational mechanism. Also, the barrel of the rifle had increased from one to ten, making the rifle a heavy, rotation-capable, ten-barreled mass-assault rifle that was electrically-powered and had series of electromagnetic enhancements. 

The weight of the immense rifle wasn't an issue since Hunter's strength-amplifying mechanical limbs, supported him in easily lifting the heavily-upgraded bulky weapon and effortlessly carrying it around. 

'What a monstrous genius! I seriously can't be compared to him. I should have listened to him those times.' Lucianna said regrettably within herself, after witnessing how Hunter effortlessly rebuilt a larger, enormously powerful rifle from a small, less-powerful one with great speed and inimitable accuracy.

Buzzzztttt....!!

Once he activated the mass-extermination assault rifle, numerous electric buzzing sounds began to ring out from within it, such that multiple arcs of electricity could be seen moving about on the surface of the gleaming destroyer rifle. Also, whirring sounds began to ring out as the multiple barrels that it possessed, began to individually revolve at a great speed of 300 revolution/sec, and then rotationally turn from one barrel to the other at shocking revolutionary speeds for the passage of bullets. 

"Lucianna, we will definitely get out of here alive. I promise. Let's just hold on till our instructors will come for us. Once they have organized themselves and begin to launch repelling counter-attacks at different areas of the institute against the terrorists, they will come for us. Let's just hold on till they will appear before us." Hunter said while Lucianna nodded her head obediently and meekly.

"Sir, something is going on at the northern side of the institute's building. We have lost about twelve of our elite soldiers to an attacker stationed there." A man said to his commander whose eyes glowed with bright violet eyes, making his eyes seem like miniature purple suns.

"Hmm. Send in Fireburst and Shadow Devourer to that part of the building. They will quickly take care of the defensive attacker stationed there. As for the rest of our men, tell them to continue with what they are doing."

"Alright, commander. I will go now to communicate your instructions to them." The man said and turned around to head to a certain mini-bus where two extremely dangerous people were discussing elatedly with one another about an highly-staked bet for a particular underground gladiatorial match which they both won. 

"Star Glaive, you can as well tell them to unleash greater hell as they turn the whole place upside down. I want fear, hopelessness, and unceasing terror to be struck into the hearts of everyone present within that building. Only gloominess and the suffocating feeling of death should cloud their hearts." 

"Also, send in a new batch that are armed with weapons of greater firepower. We won't leave here until I find that item, even if it means razing and leveling the whole institute to the ground!" The commander who had an enormously tall figure, a lustrous iron-like skin, and a really powerful veiny build that had lava flowing within the veins, making him seem like an otherworldly weightlifter, said with an expression of unequalled viciousness and savageness in his luminously glowing cold eyes.
