The Gossip

"Should I scream?" She didn't averted her eyes this time.

Elijah want to stare to his pair of golden eyes. Dwine gulped and slowly withdrew himself and sit back to his seat.

"We have to go to my last appointment later this afternoon. And I heard that the other management will be having a party tonight, and I am being invited."

"Do I have to go with you too?"

"Well, yes."

"What should I prepare for you before we leave?"

"Nothing much, I just need to change my suit."

"Noted."

The two remain silent until they reached the building of the company. Walking inside the building with her boss, she noticed something unusual.

"Why does it seem like they are talking about me?" She frowned.

"Hmm.. Maybe because, you're still wearing my coat?" Dwine looked at her with amusement in his eyes. Enjoying himself while watching Elijah being confused.

Elijah immediately wear off the coat and hang it in her arm. First day of work, the gossip already spread.

"Why did you remove it?" Dwine is teasing the little girl.

Elijah stopped walking while squinting. She looked at him with burning eyes. But to remember that this man is her boss, she just let out a frustrating sigh.

"I'm sorry, I forgot to remove it while we were inside the car." She respectfully apologize.

She saw some employees who are watching them. She need to clear the air before it get polluted by gossips.

"But I'm the one who put it on you, shouldn't I be the one who will remove it?"

The man's voice is much more louder now. It seems like he wants everyone to hear him.

The #@$& with this man?! Is he trying to fuel the issue further?! She gritted her teeth and look at him again. Right now, her look is really trying to burn the bastard dog in front of her. The man gave her a smirk and started to walk again.

"How sad, your burning eyes can't burn me." He said.

"Its fine, I've already made you feel hot, anyway." She murmured. "Ouch!" She bumped to his chest this time.

"What did you say?" Dwine forehead is wrinkled due to his curiosity.

"Did I say something?" Elijah raised her left eyebrow and walk pass him.

"I heard you said something!" Dwine looks so eager to know what it was.

"I didn't say anything Sir. It was your imagination." Elijah tapped the button with the number of their floor.

When Dwine entered the elevator, Elijah tapped the close button. And to her surprise, Dwine pinned her on the elevator's wall.

"What did you say? I asked. "

"Why do have to pinned me on the wall? You can just ask me, what if someone sees us?!" Elijah's irritation burst out this time.

"Then tell me what it was." He doesn't even know why he's acting like this in front of this girl.

All he does know is that, He feels like He knows this girl for so long, and he's happy everytime she's near. And he can't control himself to get close to her. She's not even his soul mate, so why?

"Sigh.. I said, it doesn't matter if I can't burn you. All I need is work anyway."

"That's it?" Dwine slowly release her.

"Yes, Sir." She noticed that they are almost at their floor. "Stand away from me. We're almost there."

Dwine listened to her and stepped back. Between them, the girl is actually acting normal although a bit stubborn. But him? He's actually acting weird. What's wrong with him? Really.

They heard the beep sound and the elevator opened. Elijah is first one to get out, and also the first one who entered the office. The secretary who are confused for the two sudden arrival is looking at her Boss who were also walking to enter his office.

"What happened? Who is the Boss and who is the assistant?" She whispered.

The door open again, and her boss popped out.

"Where are the foods?" He asked,

"The delivery man called a while ago, he's already at the ground floor sir."

After she finished saying it, the elevator door opened.

"The food is here, sir." The secretary smile with kindness even her mind is busy thinking about what she witnessed.

"Food delivery.." The man with a cap stopped in front of the secretary. "Are you the one who ordered ma'am?" He asked Joanna.

"Ahh.. Hehe..yes."

"Oh! So it was you.. The people below were talking about you."

"Huh?! About me? Why?"

Joanna, who were busy doing her job up here is being the topic? How come?

"They said that you are very close to your boss that you even wore his coat. You're so lucky ma'am." The joyful look of the delivery while talking hit Joanna.

There's a gossip spreading inside the building. She wore her boss coat? Coat? Wait, someone arrived with a coat in her arm.. Ack! Joanna flinches when she saw her boss staring at her.

"You used my coat?" He's wrinkled forehead scared her on the spot.

"No sir! I didn't, I never did!"

"Then who was it? He said very close to me who wear my coat..

" aren't I the one who wear your coat? You're the one who forced me to wear it." Elijah suddenly appear.

"Ahh... Your order ma'am." The delivery noticed the red flag waving in the air.

"I told you, it'll be the topic of the gossip." Elijah angrily said.

She doesn't care if this man is her boss. He is the reason why she is now being the topic of the gossip.

"But you're the one who wears it while entering the building?"

"I was! But you're the one who put it on me! You forced me!"

"I admit I did that, but why didn't you remove it?!"

"Didn't remove it?! Hey! Have you forgotten what you've told me while we were on the ground floor, and when I was removing it? You said you're the one who put it on and you should be the...

"Got it! Enough with the nagging!" Dwine interrupted her so she squinted her eyes. "Alright, it was my fault. But let it be, it'll die down soon."

Elijah didn't answer and just walked inside again. Dwine took a deep breath and touched his forehead.

"What a mess.." He murmured. "Bring the food inside." He said and followed the angry woman.

The extras on the whole chapter left outside with wide eyes and question marks above their heads.
