Chapter Seven: Moon Stone Essence

the whole class burst out in laughter at his last statement. Alfred was now red in anger, he knew fighting someone like Richard is useless, although magic were banned in the school but this boy always like to disrespect the law, he can try out his new magic skill on him. He Just kept mute and was only looking at him as he returns back to his seat,

" my only concern is your sister, upon all her beauty, she doesn't have magical powers, how can she stand to compete with our sister Clara in the future" At this statement everyone looked at Clara and she blushed while her friend was giggling.

" Beauty wasted! maybe if she is lucky in the future, she can marry a poor farmer from the hinterlands" He said finally as the class erupt in laughter, They thought Emelia will fume in anger but she didn't even move from her position. just then a teacher entered and the whole class quieted down while teaching began.

Alfred was brought back from his memory lane by the alarm clock," what's the hell! it's already 5 o'clock" Emelia stirred from her sleep and woke up, she rubbed her eyes and saw a figure on the reading table.

" Alfred you are already awake" she said with a croaky voice.

" yah and how was your sleep" Alfred asked for looking at her beautiful face she smiled wryly,

" it was pretty good" she stood up and wants to go by and ease herself.

" I won't be going to school with you today" Alfred said while she turned abruptly in her track with her brows raised for answers.

" why? " she asked.

" because I'm having fever,my whole body is very hot" he said, hugging himself while shaking, Emelia came and touch his neck to feel his temperature.

" you damn liar, your body is freezing cold, your are simply afraid of those riff-raff at school."

" me, afraid of them, never, don't worry when we awaken magic, l will deal with those idiots" Alfred wore an angry look as if he is preparing to fight with someone.

" see who is having fever" Emelia began laugh and walk out of the room to ease herself. when she came back she sat down beside her brother with a worried expression, Alfred took the lantern and brought it closer to her face and saw her countenance.

" baby sister, what is it " he asked.

" am worried"

" about what exactly" he requested looking into her face.

" are we ever going to awaken magic are we ever going to break the shackles of this curse?"

"hmmm! Alfred heaved a sigh, this is exactly what he has been thinking, even before the magic Awakening examination, but it seems like no answer is forth coming.

" the world is leaving us behind, how exactly are we to survive in this world without magic" Emelia lamented while resting her head on Alfred's shoulder while he strokes her hair.

" baby sister, don't worry it will be fine, I just have this feeling that we are the ones to break this curse but I don't really know how, but it will be alright"

Emelia has left for school, Collins and his wife has gone to work and Alfred is left alone, it is time to carry out his plans. Alfred has studied really wide, even as a young boy, he has read many books that even high level mages have not read. that is why many people were surprised when he and her sister did not awaken magic.

in the course of his studies, he stumbled into a very valuable information about the moon stone essence.

500 years ago, the moon stone essence was a common magical resources that can be found all over any mining location and magical forests . it is very useful for bloodline purification. those days, no one values it because of how common it is but it disappeared after the war with the wolf kingdom when the wolves invaded the human territories. although humans won the war but the moon stone essence disappeared after the war. It was after the war that humans knew the value of the moon stone essence, it became the most scarce magical ore around the whole world, one moon stone essence that appears can cost about fifteen million dollars but even to find is is where the real problem is.

The power of this moon stone essence is not only to purify curses but it can also purify setbacks in the the growth of a mage due to impurities in the bloodline and that is why many mages are after it. and it can only be found in the Celestian mountains.

But Alfred still have some headache to treat even with all this information, one is that even if they they decided to buy the magical ore, where is the money, even if they sell off their properties and their house they won't even amount to one million dollars, and to hire a mage to do the job is as difficult as it is impossible. As Alfred has read, the entrance into the Celestian mountains is not easily accessible, infact it has a magical portal. this portal is the only entrance into the Celestian mountains and the portal opens every 20 years.

Alfred has been been able to calculate that the portal Will appear in a month time that is why he is so eager to act fast.

another problem now is that the Celestian mountains has a map. After the last adventure into the mountain something happened and map got divided into two, everyone forgot it because it has been used at that time until recently when mages anticipated that the portal will open in a month time, they have been able to find one of the halves in Odin Region of Amphil province but the remaining One is still missing.
