Infinite Choice System

The street corner was noisy with the sound of cars passing by. Under a streetlight, a young couple stood and argued loudly.

Nelson Fisher had just discovered that his girlfriend, Claire, had been secretly chatting and entertaining a richer man. She was keeping her options open while still staying with him.

"He is just a friend, Nelson! Why are you being so small-minded?" Claire shouted, crossing her arms.

Nelson felt a big lump in his throat. He had given everything to this girl, but she treated him like a backup plan.

Suddenly, a strange voice rang inside Nelson’s head, and a computer screen appeared before his eyes.

[Choice B: Break up with her immediately and walk away. Reward: $1,000.]

Nelson was taken aback, his eyes wide as he looked at the screen.

Option A would make him look like a fool. Option B was okay, but Option C had a bigger reward! $100,000 was enough to change his life. Nelson's choice was unarguable.

"Fine. Since he is just a friend, call him over and introduce him to me," Nelson said very calmly.

Claire was very hesitant when she heard this. Her face changed a few times. But seeing Nelson's stubborn eyes, she reluctantly agreed, took out her phone, and dialed a number.

"You are really insecure, Nelson. It is very embarrassing," Claire insulted him while waiting for the call to connect. She spoke to the person on the phone in a very sweet voice, completely different from how she talked to Nelson.

After twenty minutes, an engine roar could be heard as a luxury sports car was driven to a stop near the pavement. The door opened, and a young man stepped out, dressed expensively and looking down at Nelson pompously.

This was the man she was entertaining?

Nelson couldn't believe it. This was Derek Thompson, the most famous star guy from college, always surrounded by people because of his family's money. How could Claire stab him in the back by hooking up with someone like him whom both of them knew?

The same Claire ran to Derek's side for protection. "Derek, you finally came," she cried. "Nelson is being so crazy and interrogating me about you. Please help me defend myself!"

Derek smiled smugly and patted Claire's hand before he looked at Nelson like he was a garbage bag. "Ah, Nelson, right? Claire is a good girl," he said. "You shouldn't restrict her freedom just because you are poor."

At the same time, Nelson's system returned.

[$100,000 has been deposited into your bank account.]

Buzz.

Nelson brought out his vibrating phone to take a look at the bank notification, his heart racing.

He could not believe it.

$100,000? This meant he was no longer poor!

But the system didn't let Nelson rest as it flashed another panel.

[Choice C: Tell him he can take Claire and you don't mind. Reward: A luxury vehicle.]

Nelson looked at the new text on the blue screen all three options.

He could turn around, leave, and end this right here for a reward of $500, or he could cause more drama for $10,000 by attacking Derek with a bottle of water.

But the third choice was out of this world. Giving up his girlfriend just like that? It was a very bold move. Nelson had to muster a lot of courage in his heart to do that. But then he thought about it carefully.

Why should he care? She was already a cheater who did not respect him. You simply cannot keep a person who does not want to stay with you anyway.

So, he looked at Derek and Claire with a smile.

"Derek, right? Since you like her so much, you can just take Claire away right now. She is all yours," Nelson said calmly.

When Nelson said this, it gave him a lot of respect and autonomy, making him look less like the loser and more like the one in control of the situation. Derek's smug smile disappeared, while Claire was left confused.

Claire felt like her heart was breaking because she expected Nelson to beg for her to stay. She never thought he would give her up so easily without even shedding one tear.

"What? Nelson, what nonsense are you talking about?" she mumbled, emotionally hurt.

Meanwhile, Derek frowned, scrutinizing Nelson. "Are you serious? You are really just giving her to me?"

"Of course. I am a man of my word. She is yours," Nelson nodded.

Claire and Derek had already kissed many times behind Nelson's back, and they had probably even had sex already. They were just looking for a chance to make Nelson a cuckold while Derek still maintained his actual rich girlfriend, Jasmine. They wanted to play with Nelson like an idiot, but Nelson had completely broken their plan.

Derek felt very unhappy that Nelson was not crying. To further humiliate him and break down this strange confidence he seemed to be having, Derek proposed a plan.

"Heh, you are acting very tough. Since you are so bold, why don't you come to the VIP party at the Grand Horizon Hotel tomorrow night? I will officially acknowledge Claire as my girlfriend in front of everyone. Do you dare to come see it?" Derek dared.

Nelson was a poor student with no nobility. He had no business going to a high-class VIP party. Derek was clearly trying to lure him into a trap where he could embarrass him and also impress Claire.

Nelson couldn't believe his arrogance, but before he could give his reply—
