"Is there something wrong?"

"Nothing."

The answer was so fast out of Layla.

“If so, you can contact me any time if you need help,” Emma greeted. After a light bow, she walked back to her counter.

No one else is in the same queue, which means that today or indeed, the ID card registration process is not as busy as other transactions. If this were still in his world, he would probably have to queue several hours before having his turn to be served and then wait days to weeks for the paperwork to be completed.

If he remembered correctly, he once applied for a national identity card and had waited almost two years before the process had to be repeated from the beginning. Luckily he was already a civil servant at that time, and when he processed it for the second time, miraculously, it was finished in just two days even though they should have completed the process on the same day.

"So, now what should I do?"

After getting the ID card, and with all the skill points he has, he should first take the skill. They could buy basic skills easily, and the same skills could level up according to the owner's capabilities.

"I don't know," Layla replied as if she was no longer enthusiastic. She turned her face in another direction, "maybe you can just ask the counter girl."

“Yea…I brought you here because I hoped for your help. I was told that my skill points are still intact, so maybe I need some skills that I find suitable.”

Archie glanced at Emma when he said that, and it seemed that it didn't bring positive changes to Layla. The girl was pensive and tried to look indifferent.

"Oh oh? Did you just get your ID card? We are on our way to explore a dungeon. According to the dungeonguide, that place has a lot of monsters that you can use to make skill sheets.”

An adult man approached Archie; he wore brown armor covering his chest. A one-handed sword was at his waist in a sheath.

“Ah, well…but I just signed up, and I'm still whitecaste.”

“Me and my two comrades are already purplecaste, and…umm…well, it looks like we need one more person with a bluecaste grade and above so we can explore the dungeon,” replied the man. He puffed out his chest and showed a purple plate of precious stones.

Adventurers could make identification tags that refer to their grades. Generally, precious stones are used, formed into a plate, then their names are written on it and placed in an easily visible place.

“Sir…Cody…Thompson?” Archie strained his eyes, trying to read the name engraved on the amethyst plate on the man's chest.

“Aah, just call me Cody, my class is Warrior. Even so I can be a tank if you want, hahaha,” said the man proudly.

"There's no way a warrior can withstand the enemy's aggro, you idiot," said the person sitting next to him. After putting down the drink bottle, he stood up and introduced himself. “Excuse my stupid partner, I am Kane Kirby, call me what you want.”

“Did you come with this girl? She didn't register, did she already have an ID card before?” asked Kane. He was referring to Layla.

"That's right, she's accompanying me."

“Oh? What's your grade, Sweetie?” Kane sat at the table Layla used; his hand tried to reach Layla's chin, but she managed to refuse it.

“I am Purplecaste, a Spellcaster,” Layla answered.

“Wow? Are you serious? If there was someone like you in our party, I guess conquering the red-level dungeon would be easy for us.”

"Do you want to accompany this man to get his first skill?"

Kane and Coby were so enthusiastic when they heard about Layla's class. Archie had seen Layla's ID card and researched a class called spellcaster. It was a support specialization class, and the spells would help party members get buffs or debuff the enemies.

"All right... all right, I'll help him." Laya agreed after her eyes glanced at Archie.

“Very good…then, come on, let's go.”

It seems that Layla's agreement made Kane and Coby even more furious. They patted Layla on the shoulder and escorted her out of the building.

In the city center, there was a place where adventurers came and went. It is a door that can connect one city to another. The door is referred to as "The Transmit."

“Our last comrades are still in the city of Craydon. That place is close to the dungeon we will be exploring.”

How to use the transmit is relatively easy. One only needs to set the destination that can be selected using the input device near the door.

"Okay, I've set a destination for Craydon," Coby said.

The door responded with a flash of light as soon as Coby finished pressing the buttons on the input device.

[“Destination: Craydon!”]

The sound from the speaker above the door makes it easier for users to reconfirm their destination if they press the wrong button.

Just like that, similar to teleportation between the cities in the games Archie has played.

The three purplecaste adventurers are Cody as a Warrior, Kane as a Thief, and Daniel as a Ranger. They welcomed Layla's arrival well and immediately headed for the dungeon.

The five entered a dungeon called The Cursed Cavern, a purple-level dungeon that would reset every month. The term is called Monthly Dungeon.

Since it was a permanent dungeon, the guild recorded general information about the dungeon for the adventurers’ convenience to explore at other times.

Daniel handed Archie a pocketbook filled with details about the dungeons. Even though the monthly dungeon will reset every month, most of the information is still very relevant to be used many times.

Adventurers can use a unique system to bring a newbie to explore dungeons above the newbie's level. Archie is a newbie, but with four purplecaste at the party, Archie can join the dungeon.

"So, how was it, Kane?"

"There are no significant changes. Everything is still the same as in the pocketbook."

Kane, as a person with the Thief class, Kane did the initial monitoring while the other companion was behind.

"According to the pocketbook, the fastest path is through the gap on the left. But as a gift for our friend who has just received his ID cards, there is a secret room on the right that will triger if we take care of the monsters in order. Whatever items we get there, we give them to that boy, how about that?” Kane explained excitedly.

Archie, who was more focused on reading the pocketbook, didn't care about that. However, he didn't find any information about the secret room in the pocketbook, probably because the pocketbook only contained general information. If adventurers wanted more classified information, they would have to buy another, more complete version.

Archie awoke to a peculiar and unfamiliar dream, disorientated by the commotion outside. Looking around, he struggled to grasp his surroundings and the situation at hand.Gradually, he realised he was lying on a bed of soft grass, when suddenly a loud noise shattered the silence. It was the voices of the people who had just emerged victorious against three raging demons. He gingerly touched his temple, feeling the tender wound. While he couldn't recall much from the dream, he sensed it had been unnervingly vivid and had left him anxious.Getting up, Archie surveyed his surroundings, taking in the warriors' smiling faces and cheerful chatter. They wore expressions of fulfilment after their triumph over the demons. Archie was relieved to still be alive but overwhelmed by the reality of the situation.

  • Ch. XVIII: Singularity

As the group entered the city, they saw that chaos had already begun to unfold. Buildings were on fire, people were screaming and running for their lives, and there were strange creatures roaming the streets. Akhem and Harlequin seemed pleased with the destruction they had caused, but Archie felt a pit in his stomach."What have you done?" he asked, looking at them with horror."We have done what needed to be done," replied Harlequin. "We are bringing change to this world, and sometimes that requires sacrifice."Archie shook his head, unable to comprehend the cruelty of their actions. "This isn't change, it's destruction. Innocent people are dying because of your actions."Akhem chuckled. "Innocent? There is no such thing as innocence in this world. Everyone is guilty of

  • Ch. XVIII: Eccentricity

As the group made their way through the desert, Archie couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about the situation. The sandstorm had died down, but the air was still thick with dust and it was difficult to see more than a few feet in front of them. Akhem and Harlequin led the way, with Archie following closely behind.Suddenly, Akhem stopped in his tracks, causing Harlequin to bump into him from behind. Archie almost ran into Harlequin as well, but managed to stop just in time. "What's going on?" he asked, confused.Akhem turned to face them, his eyes scanning the horizon. "We're being followed," he said in a low voice."Followed? By who?" asked Harlequin, also looking around."I don't know yet. But we need to keep moving and be cautious," replied Akhem.

  • Ch. XVIII: Peculiarity

Harlequin and Akhem exchanged glances before turning back to Archie, who was still trying to process the information. "We don't expect you to make a decision right now," said Harlequin. "We understand that this is a lot to take in. But we hope that you'll consider it and join us in our cause."Archie remained silent, unsure of what to say. He had always thought of himself as an ordinary person, not someone with the power to change the world. The idea of possessing a grimoire and using it to achieve such a goal was overwhelming. After a few moments of contemplation, Archie spoke up. "I need some time to think about this. It's a big decision, and I can't just jump into it without knowing all the facts.""Of course," said Akhem. "Take all the time you need. But keep in mind that the longer we wait, the more difficult i

A man in a white suit was standing on it, addressing the crowd."People of Krakal, I come to you with a message of hope. For too long, we have suffered under the rule of corrupt leaders who care only for their own interests. But I promise you, things are about to change."The man's words were met with mixed reactions from the crowd. Some cheered, while others remained skeptical.Akhem turned to Archie and Harlequin. • Ch. XVIII: The Sudden Oddity

I'm not sure I'm comfortable with this idea of changing the world. What if we cause more harm than good?" Archie asked.Harlequin and Akhem exchanged a quick glance before turning back to Archie."Archie, we understand your concern, but the world as it is now is flawed.
