Jack Harrison stared at the numbers for a moment before the screen disappeared again, leaving him with more questions than answers.was this some how connected? Did the system have a reason for reminding him of his abilities now, just before the execution of someone like Charles Oliver?, a criminal who may have had knowledge of hidden powers or ancient secrets?, Jack pushed the thought aside for now.
He didn't know what to make of any of this. All he knew was that today, he would witness something that could change his understanding of the city and maybe himself. After dressing, Jack steeped out of his room to meet Mrs Sophie by the door. Together that .ade their way to the council headquarters where the execution of Charles Oliver would be done. Jack couldn't shake the feeling that whatever happened but would be a important, not just for the city but for him as well. As Mrs Sophie and Jack Harrison made their way down the narrow streets, they moved along the crowd of people also heading towards the council headquarters. The atmosphere was tense and was filled with anticipation and murmured conversations about the execution of Charles Oliver. People whispered about his crimes the terror he had spread and the Justice they were about to witness. Jack Harrison walked in silence and was still felling uneasy about what is a about to happen. Jack moved closer to Mrs Sophie who was also feeling uncomfortable about the event but she did d her best to hide it. The city building stood tall as the shadow of the building casted down on the streets. As they near the edge of the city, the crowd squeezing themselves through a narrow alley which makes them slow down. Jack Harrison glanced around as he began to feel a strange unease as he was sure that something was off but he couldn't figure out what was wrong. Then suddenly the murmurs of the crowds were interrupted by a deep growl. Jack froze as he turns his head towards the sound coming from the other street blocking the narrow path ahead, he noticed to people who look strange and dangerous among the rest of the crowds. The first one was an orc with a rough green skin, huge muscles and a twisted snarl in his face. The teeth came out from the mouth and it's yellow eyes was scanning the crowds if it were hunting prey, the orc grunted which made people nearby to shiver in fear. Beside the orc stood a creature even more scary, a half human, half dragon hybrid. It's human features were mixed with dragonic traits, as it have sharp scales covering it's arms and neck and it's eyes was red looking like a predatory gaze. The skin has some metallic sheen and the claws was huge and sharp as they he stood beside the orc, smoke could be seen coming out from it's nostrils as it was certain that fire breath was beneath the surface. The crowd went silent and panic began to spread among the people as soon as they realized the danger. Some began to flee while others stood there frozen and unsure of what to do. Mrs Sophie face was looking pale as she instantly pulled Jack Harrison closer to her. "Stay behind me, these people are bandits, they prey on crowds like this" she whispered and her voice was filled with fear. The orc showed its teeth as it steps forward as it eyes glanced around the people like prey while the half dragon hissed. "Give us your valuable items and no one has to get hurt" the half dragon demanded as his voice let out a low growl as he spoke. Jack Harrison heart began to race and his adrenaline began to rush through him as he watched how the crowd began to panic and people were holding on to their belongings and moving back slowly. Mrs Sophie stood tall as she was refusing to show fear but Jack Harrison could sense her worry. The orc moves forward as it raise it huge hands as if it was preparing to smash through anyone that would resist while the half dragon scales was blinking in the sunlight and it's claws ready to strike. Jack could feel the system within him and suddenly the system screen displayed beside his eye but he was the only one that can see it. ALERT: DANGER DETECTED, PROTECT HOST ENEMY STRENGTH: HIGH RECOMMENDATION ACTION: ENGAGE OR FALL BACK WEAPONS: ENERGY BLADE, NIGHT VISION, SUPER CLOAK, READY FOR ACTIVATION Jack Harrison was finding it hard to breath as he was feeling scared. The system was responding to the threat and offering Hun the use of his abilities he had barely began to understand. The energy blade was now an option ready for him to summon but he hesitated as he began to wonder if he could really fight these creatures and if he was capable of fighting and also the thought of confronting them was running through his mind. But there was no time for him to think. The orc snarled again and raising it's huge arms high and rest to swing down on the nearest person. Mrs Sophie glanced at jack Harrison as her face was filled with concern. "Jack, stay close! Don't do anything reckless!" She siad. Jack Harrison mind raced as he ha never used the system in combat before and he didn't know if he could control it but he couldn't just say and by and watch innocent people get hurt. His hand began shake and stop for some seconds, as he felt a strange warmth in his palm as if the energy blade was calling him and he knew he had to make a decision and fast. The orc roars and half dragon claw was prepared to destroy it next victim. Jack could feel the tension in the air as his heart was pounding as the danger closed in. As the bandits pushed Mrs Sophie to the ground, Jack Harrison felt a surge of anger swell inside him and the sight of Mrs Sophie lying helpless in the ground and surrounded by the laughing figures of the orc and the half dragon made him feel the burning sense of injustice.Latest Chapter
CHAPTER 161
The observation deck at the top of the crystalline spire had become Jack's favorite place to think. From here, he could see the entire city spread out below—rebuilt stronger and more beautiful than it had ever been, filled with people living lives that would have been impossible without the protection his network provided. But tonight, as the dual moons cast silver light across the transformed skyline, Jack wasn't admiring their achievements. He was remembering where it all began."Hard to believe it started with Charles Oliver's execution," he said aloud, knowing his friends would hear him through their permanent mental link even though they were scattered across different dimensions on various missions."You mean it started with a weak boy nobody wanted," Lucy's voice replied warmly through their connection, her protective instincts wrapping around the memory with fierce affection.Jack smiled, pressing his hand against the medallion that had become part of his chest. The golden sur
CHAPTER 160
The war room deep within the crystalline spire had become the nerve center for the most ambitious defensive project in dimensional history. Holographic displays showed the status of their entire universal cluster—thousands of realities connected by the portal network, each one now monitored by their expanded consciousness.Jack stood at the center of it all, no longer the weak boy who had once struggled to survive in a world that saw him as worthless. The medallion had become so integrated with his being that its golden surface was visible beneath his skin, pulsing with the rhythm of dimensional currents across countless worlds. But unlike the corrupt artifacts that had consumed previous wielders, his medallion was sustained by the bonds that connected him to his friends."Protocol Seven is now fully operational across all monitored dimensions," Sierra reported, her tactical awareness coordinating defensive measures on a scale that would have been incomprehensible months ago. "Early w
CHAPTER 159
Six months after the dimensional crisis, their city bore little resemblance to the place that had nearly been destroyed by Vale's invasion. The rebuilding hadn't simply restored what was lost—it had created something entirely new.Where the old council headquarters had stood, a crystalline spire now reached toward the sky, its faceted surface designed to detect dimensional anomalies from hundreds of miles away. The building served as headquarters for the Dimensional Monitoring Initiative, the organization Jack and his friends had established to prevent future crises."Seventeen minor rifts detected across the northern sectors this week," Sierra reported during their morning briefing, her tactical awareness processing data streams that would have overwhelmed any individual mind. "All within normal parameters, but the frequency is increasing."Jack nodded, his consciousness simultaneously monitoring the reports while maintaining awareness of dimensional currents across their entire real
CHAPTER 158
As the final seconds of his transformation ticked away, Jack felt his consciousness crystallize around a revelation that changed everything. The medallions' power didn't have to choose between perfect guardianship and human connection—it could create something entirely new."What if the burden doesn't have to be mine alone?" he said through their shared mental link, his voice carrying wonder despite his fading physical form. "What if we've been thinking about this wrong from the beginning?"Through their psychic connection, his friends felt his idea taking shape—not one guardian managing impossible responsibilities, but a network of consciousness that could handle the dimensional network's complexity while remaining anchored to humanity."You mean permanent integration?" Sierra breathed, her enhanced understanding immediately grasping the implications. "All of us linked directly to the dimensional network?""The ancient guardians failed because they became isolated from the people the
CHAPTER 157
Jack's consciousness spread like spilled mercury across the dimensional network, his awareness touching worlds he'd never imagined. He could feel the pulse of life on countless planets, sense the delicate balance that held reality together, perceive threats to dimensional stability that existed light-years away.It was overwhelming and magnificent and terrifying all at once.Through his expanded perception, he could see their own world as just one node in an infinite web—small, fragile, but pulsing with the fierce determination of beings who refused to surrender to despair. He could feel Mrs. Sophie organizing relief efforts in the ruined city, Lord Rasmus's surviving soldiers helping with rescue operations despite their old conflicts, even the corrupted treasure hunters slowly recovering their humanity as the dimensional toxins were purged from their systems. But he could also feel himself slipping away from all of it. His connection to individual human concerns was fading as cosmic
CHAPTER 156
The moment Jack's hand closed around Vale's dark medallion, reality screamed. Two opposing forces—one meant to protect, one designed to consume—collided within his consciousness with the fury of colliding stars. Jack felt his sense of self being torn apart and rebuilt simultaneously, his awareness expanding beyond the boundaries of single-dimensional existence.Vale's eyes widened in shock as his dark artifact began resonating with Jack's medallion, the two pieces fighting for dominance within the same host. "What are you doing, you fool? You'll destroy us both!""Maybe," Jack gasped, feeling the competing energies threaten to tear his mind apart. "But at least I'll take you with me."The dark medallion's hunger crashed against Jack's consciousness like a tidal wave of pure malevolence. It whispered promises of power beyond imagination, showed him visions of ruling infinite realities, offered him the ability to reshape existence according to his will. The corruption was overwhelming,
