Beep. Beep. Beep.
Currently, a teenage boy in hospital robes had his back against the surface of a hospital styled mattress bed , with eyes clearly wide open but evidently murky; a sign of being lost in a daze. "Tch.." clicking his tongue in what sounded like a frustrated manner, Jedidiah snapped out from his daze as he broke the status of silence in his hospital Ward. - Exempting the noise coming from the heart monitor of course. "I was in a coma for an entire seven days?" Jedidiah thought inwardly, still avidly recalling the dialogue he had with the hospital doctor in charge of him, after he woke up from his bizzare comatose state nearly half an hour ago. The Doctor had naturally been skeptical about his recovery. But even after undergoing several tests, the Doctor couldn't discover anything wrong with him! However this was besides the point because Jedidiah had more pressing thoughts in his mind. Sensing the cold surface of a particular pendant hanging across his neck caused Jedidiah's lips to curl as excitement flashed across his eyes. "Alright, close your eyes and follow the pathway of your meridian veins.." after an Elite experienced their "Awakening", the next step they needed to take was exactly this. By familiarizing themselves with their newly forged meridian veins, Elites would be able to smoothly channel their different types of magic through these meridian veins. And as a bonafide fan of the Elites, Jedidiah was aware of this process; it wasn't like the Elites went out of their ways to conceal this piece of knowledge.. "N--Nothing?!" five minutes later, His expression darkened. ... "Why isn't it working?!" trying his best to block out the noise the heart monitor was making, Jedidiah tried sensing his meridian veins for the tenth time, only to end up in failure.. yet again! "I don't get it!" he couldn't help but mumble inwardly in a frustrated manner. He had his suspicions that his bizzare comatose was linked to the pendant currently hanging across his neck. Not to mention according to the message he got from his family, this pendant was supposed to be the "key" "Key?! what stupid key!" grabbing the pendant hanging across his neck , he attempted to yank off. Perhaps he was going to sell it at a pawn shop and make a couple bucks. —[Ping!] —[System Online!] "What's this?" Jedidiah's fingers slowly withdrew away from the pendant, his eyes completely transfixed on the two virtual screens floating before his eyes. "I'm not seeing things now am I?" he unconsciously reached out towards one of the floating screens, only to end up having his hand phase right through it. His actions ended up causing the floating screen to temporarily suffer a glitch. "Hm? more are popping up?" Jedidiah's brows shot up in intrigue as he noticed a couple new virtual tabs appearing before his eyes. Naturally, he checked out the first tab; —[Host Info] - Name: Jedidiah Kreese - Title: ??? - Race: Human (???) - Class: ??? ... "This is just like those progressive RPG video games.." this was Jedidiah first observation as his eyes trailed over to the second tab; —[Profile I INFO] Power Level: Lvl 1 (+) ENG: 100% STR: 100% SPD: 100% AGL: 100% PHYQ: 100% INT: 100% .. "Now this is definitely a video game.." reading the contents of the second tab was like the final nail in the coffin. According to how those video games were played, he could progress his power level by slaying monsters? However Jedidiah also found this bizzare. Never had he heard of an Elite capable of growing stronger by killing monsters. Although killing Kaiju Beasts has proven to be a lucrative venture over the years, they were not like those monsters in video games, capable of leaving behind "loots" after they were slayed. Now completely immersed in the new experience, Jedidiah proceeded to read the third tab; —[PROFILE I COMPREHENSION] Name: Eternal Muse Comprehension: Lvl 1 (+) Core Skills: None Bloodline Skills: None Soul Weapon; None Class: None ... Just when Jedidiah thought he had finished skimming through all the system tabs, a notification tab popped up that read; —[Congratulations! Host has received Starters Package!] —[Starters Package has been opened!] —[Host has received +10 Ivory tickets!] .. "Tickets?" reading this notification, a certain suspicion popped into Jedidiah's mind. However he didn't have to mull over it for long because another notification succeeded the one from earlier. —[System Tidbit 101] - Tickets are currencies unique only to the system. They are capable of drawing the System inbuilt Lottery. Draw the Lottery and earn rewards! —[Ping!] —[New Special Function; Midas Lottery has been added!] .. Mentally clicking on the newly created system tab, a spin wheel appeared before Jedidiah's eyes and below it was a string of small information. —[Midas Lottery] - Silver Ticket: 0 - Gold Ticket: 0 - Diamond Ticket: 0 - Ivory Ticket: 10 (one-time) .. —[System has automatically induced first lottery spin!] —[This action costs -1 Ivory Ticket] .. "This system or whatever it is sure is gutsy.." Jedidiah pursed his lips, his eyes never leaving the spin wheel whose arrow was currently rapidly spinning around. One of the few things that made Jedidiah's life barely enjoyable was his small collection of video games. Although he wouldn't necessarily go so far as to call himself an avid gamer, Jedidiah was a dabbler. As such he was aware that in some video games especially progressive ones, there were some events that were automatically orchestrated by the game itself. Was this System thingy similar? "Hm?" however Jedidiah didn't have the luxury of mulling over this question for too long because he noticed the spin wheel arrow beginning to slow down until it eventually landed at a particular section on the spin wheel.Latest Chapter
Chapter 91 — Spirit Dew
By the time the ten minutes recess break reached its conclusion, Jedidiah and the rest of the Entrepreneurs were led towards the Direction of Maple Demon Groove. Watching the female guide lead the Entrepreneurs away, Mr. Stratham didn't forget to wish them all good luck. Watching their backs slink into the distant horizons, Mr. Stratham leaned back from inside the protective coverage of the gazebo. With the image of a certain figure unconsciously appearing in his mind, an amused grimace played across his lips. Fishing out his phone, he placed a quick call to one of his business associates. Barely reaching the second ring, the call went through, connecting successfully. "Lucas Frost..""Mr. Stratham! what a surprise to receive a call from you." the voice from the other end sounded a bit panicked and also surprised. "Does the Organization have any need for my service?" "No. This is a personal call. I want you to look into someone for me. Someone from the Miller Clan." Naturally t
Chapter 90 — Maple Demon Groove Pt1
Placing the golf ball atop a tee stick, Mr. Stratham stepped a couple inches back. With all ten fingers wrapped around the handle of the golf stick, he lifted it above his shoulder. Entering the right stance, he proceeded to wordlessly bring it down. Wallop! Flying out from the tee stick, the golf ball moved like a literal shooting star. It blitzed past the fairway. Then the green area. Past the flag. Yet, it's momentum didn't appear to have declined in the slightest. "Do you know where that ball landed?" only after the golf ball disappeared into the distant horizon, did Mr. Stratham finally said a word. Taking in the puzzled expressions around him, he nodded his head. "I precisely sent it towards Maple Demon Groove." Calmly returning back inside the gazebo, Mr. Stratham further added. "I will give the internship spot to the person who can return that ball back to me." "W--What??" the expressions of the entrepreneurs collectively sank. Although Mr. Stratham's proposition soun
Chapter 89 — Emperor's Summons
Flipped two million into three billion.. overnight?! The young entrepreneurs present all exchanged mutual looks of disbelief amongst themselves. However Dwayne was the first to snap out from his daze. "He flipped two million into three billion overnight?" sounding doubtful, he continued. "That's impossible!" "Impossible? and why would you jump into that conclusion?" Natalie snappily retorted. "Hmph. None of us here are children. To flip three million into that large sum means he got a return exceeded a thousand percent.. that's unrealistic." Dwayne clicked his tongue. "If you are doubtful, why don't you place a call to the upper management at Senbon Lavish Thrills? I am sure they would be able to clear your doubt." Natalie shook her head when she noticed the expressions of skepticism and disbelief around her. She didn't blame them though. She could still recall spotting the same kind of expression when she heard about Jedidiah's ridiculous winning streak, the previous night ag
Chapter 88 — He's Lady CeCe's Grandson?!
"As expected from the great Mr. Stratham. You are indeed an eccentric man like the rumors claim." Ignoring the downcast expressions of the young entrepreneurs around her, Natalie directly arrived in front of Mr. Stratham. Spotting a half curved smile that oozed with confidence, she continued. "Which is why I already have a suitable candidate in mind." "What is the meaning of this, Natalie!?" before Mr. Stratham could respond, Dwayne quickly cut in. His eyes currently had an unfriendly glimmer within them. "We all know you don't need this internship. So why are you intentionally trying to make things difficult for the rest of us, huh?!" Although many of the young entrepreneurs had already slowly developed a small dislike for Dwayne, they all inwardly nodded in agreement. The internship position that Mr. Stratham was currently offering was completely useless to someone like Natalie. "Uhm. I think you must have misunderstood. I am not here to fight for the internship position with y
Chapter 87 — The Intern Position
Standing at the outskirts of the club house within the golf course, Natalie had just ended a call on her mobile phone, when she heard the sound of approaching footsteps. Her eyes immediately lit up. "You made it.. just in time!" Sensing faint traces of relief laced in Natalie's voice, Jedidiah knitted his brows in confusion. "You invited me to a golf course? I can't play golf." he gave her this warning. Clicking her tongue, Natalie led Jedidiah towards the clubhouse where he checked in. After that, she led him towards the nearest tee box. With Mitch obediently trailing behind them, Natalie exhaled sharply. She gave Jedidiah a sidelong glance. "You really don't know how to play golf?" With Jedidiah shaking his head in response, Natalie's manicured fingers tapped against her temples. "Things are about to get tricky now." "Does this arrangement of yours have anything to do with Judas Statham?" "Hm?" Natalie's eyes dilated in slight surprise. However the lustre soon died down.
Chapter 86 — Exploration Estate Pt2
Contrary to Jedidiah's expectations, the interior of Blue Star Avenue was quite serene. Natalie had already arranged a private golf cart for him, so passing through the security checkpoint wasn't an hassle. As the wheels of the cart moved across the smooth dirt covered by meticulously trimmed grass, Jedidiah took the opportunity to observe his new environment with rapt interest. 'Didn't the taxi driver say this place was an artificial Haunt Realm?' Jedidiah's eyes narrowed in confusion. The air was fresh, the atmosphere serene and the environment bustling with activity. It appeared more like a luxury resort than a place that was supposed to be brimming with Death Qi! "We are here, sir." after covering a rough distance of over five acres away from the security check point, Jedidiah suddenly felt the golf cart come to an abrupt halt within an open square shaped construct with a low fence. They were a couple others similar constructs around and within them were stationary golf carts
