Faye stood frozen, her heart hammering against her ribs as she studied Yemin with new eyes. The restaurant's opulent lighting seemed to dim around them, casting everything else into shadow.

This wasn't normal.

The CEO of Ravol Company—one of the most formidable figures in the business world—had followed Yemin's subtle command without hesitation or question. It wasn't mere respect or professional courtesy.

It was obedience.

And that terrified her to her core.

Who the hell is he? The question echoed in her mind, demanding an answer she couldn't fathom.

Yemin had said nothing. He had merely raised a hand—a simple, elegant gesture—and just like that, the punishment had ceased. As if he controlled the very air in the room.

Katherine and James should have recognized the shift then. They should have retreated into silence, should have understood the precarious edge they stood upon.

But instead—

Katherine, still kneeling on the polished floor, her makeup streaked and her face flushed crimson, lifted her chin with defiant pride. She refused to accept her fall from grace, refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing.

"I did nothing to deserve this," she hissed, her voice hoarse yet venomous, like a wounded serpent's final strike.

The crowd collectively gasped, their shock rippling through the restaurant like a physical wave.

James flinched beside her, his body language betraying what his silence couldn't—terror.

Chairman Hargrove's expression transformed, warmth draining from his features until only cold calculation remained. "You still don't understand, do you?" he said, his voice dangerously soft.

Katherine gritted her teeth, desperation fueling her bravado. "You think you can just throw me away? Me? I built my company with my own hands! I secured a deal with Ravol Company!" Her voice rose with each word, her composure cracking beneath the weight of her fury.

She turned to the CEO, her rage burning through the veneer of her humiliation. "You think you can treat me like this and get away with it? Do you have any idea what kind of influence I have?"

The entire room fell silent. A heavy, suffocating pause descended, as if the very air had been sucked from the space.

Then—

Chairman Hargrove let out a short, cold laugh that sent chills down Faye's spine. He turned to the security guards with casual indifference, as if ordering coffee.

"Throw them out."

Katherine's eyes widened, disbelief replacing her defiance. James's already pale face turned ashen.

The guards, who had been waiting for one final command, moved forward with practiced efficiency. Their movements were fluid, almost graceful in their certainty.

"No!" Katherine shrieked, scrambling to her feet, dignity forgotten. The guards seized her arms in an unyielding grip.

James panicked, trying to pull away, but another guard grabbed him by the collar of his expensive suit.

"Let me go! I am not leaving like this!" Katherine screamed, her voice cracking with hysteria.

"You can't do this!" James choked out. "This is—this is—"

Words failed him as they were dragged toward the doors, their designer shoes squeaking against the marble floor. Their screams echoed through the grand hall, but no one moved to intervene. No one spoke in their defense.

They were thrown out like refuse, their bodies hitting the pavement outside with dull thuds as the doors slammed shut behind them with finality.

And just like that—

Katherine Bennett and James Franx were erased from the evening as if they had never existed.

Inside the restaurant, the room remained suspended in silence. Then—

Whispers began, soft at first, then growing. Mutters and hushed conversations bubbled beneath the surface, gaining momentum with each passing second.

Everyone had just witnessed something unprecedented. Something that defied explanation.

"Did she really just lose everything?"

"What did she do to deserve this?"

"What kind of power does Yemin Morgan hold? How did he orchestrate this?"

Speculation spread like wildfire, jumping from table to table, consuming the room's attention. Because no one—not a single person present—could understand why Ravol Company had so abruptly severed their partnership with Bennett Enterprises.

No one could comprehend how Chairman Hargrove himself had personally discarded Katherine and James as if they were nothing.

And there was one common factor. One name that kept surfacing in the whispers that filled the room.

Yemin Morgan.

The man who had been mocked, humiliated, and insulted just moments ago... had won without lifting a finger. Had destroyed everything Katherine and James had built with nothing more than a glance.

People began to shift uncomfortably in their seats, their gazes drawn to Yemin—no longer with mockery, but with a new emotion.

Fear.

Because suddenly, they realized with crystal clarity... he wasn't the nobody they had believed him to be.

Just who the hell is he? The question hung in the air, unspoken yet deafening in its intensity.

As the murmurs in the restaurant gradually subsided, Faye found herself unable to look away from Yemin. The man standing before her was nothing like the husband Katherine had described—weak, dependent, worthless. Instead, he radiated quiet power that commanded the room without effort.

The distinguished CEO nodded respectfully at whatever Yemin had said, then turned toward Faye with newfound interest in his eyes.

"Ms. Langford," Chairman Hargrove addressed her, his voice carrying across the now-hushed restaurant. "After reviewing your preliminary proposal and based on Mr. Morgan's recommendation, A Group has decided to form a partnership with Langford Industries."

Faye's breath caught in her throat. "I—what?"

"Please visit our headquarters tomorrow at 10 AM to finalize the contract details," he continued, seemingly amused by her shock. "My assistant will email you the necessary paperwork tonight."

The words hit her like a physical force. A partnership with A Group? The very thing that could save her family's company from bankruptcy?

"Thank you, Chairman Hargrove," she managed to say, her voice steadier than she felt. "This opportunity means everything to me—to my company."

The CEO nodded. "Don't thank me. This partnership makes business sense." His eyes flickered briefly toward Yemin. "And I trust Mr. Morgan's judgment implicitly."

With that, he turned and departed, his security detail forming a protective barrier around him as they moved toward the exit.

The remaining guests immediately erupted in excited whispers, their curious gazes darting between Faye and Yemin.

When they were finally alone—as alone as one could be in a crowded restaurant—Faye turned to Yemin.

"Why?" she asked simply, her voice soft but direct. "Why would you help me?"

Yemin's eyes met hers, dark and unreadable. "Your proposal was solid. It deserved consideration."

"But there's more to it, isn't there?" Faye pressed, gathering her courage. "Chairman Hargrove treated you... differently. Like you weren't just any business associate."

A moment of silence stretched between them.

"You have a connection with him," she continued when he didn't respond. "Something significant enough that he would throw Katherine out without hesitation and offer me a contract I've been trying to secure for months."

Yemin considered her words, his expression contemplative. For the first time since she'd known him, she saw uncertainty flicker across his features.

"I don't want to lie to you," he finally said, his voice low enough that only she could hear. "Especially not to you."

Faye's heart skipped a beat at the intensity in his eyes.

"I am the chairman of A Group."

The simple statement hung in the air between them.

Faye stared at him, waiting for more explanation, for the punchline, but none came. "You're... what?"

"Everyone knows the chairman of A Group is practically a legend. He's built hundreds of companies from nothing. A Group is just one piece of his empire." She studied Yemin's face. "No offense, but you don't exactly fit the profile."What profile did she expect? Yemin wondered. An old man with a white beard? Someone who breathed fire?"And what profile would that be?" he asked quietly.Faye's smile faltered slightly. "I don't know exactly. Just... not someone who would let their wife treat them like Katherine treated you." She hesitated. "The chairman is supposed to be this mysterious,

Yet her victory felt hollow after the devastating loss of the Group A contract."James, I want this birthday party to be more than just a celebration," she declared, setting her phone down with purpose. "I want to use it as an opportunity to destroy both Morgan and Faye."James looked up from his laptop, a slow, menacing smile spreading across his face. "I like the way you think, darling. What did you have in mind?""I want to humiliate them so thoroughly that neither will ever recover—personally or professionally." Katherine's eyes gleamed with malice. But I'm not sure why you're asking about it?""I'm curious," Yemin replied carefully. "She mentioned you had a ring similar to one I own."Faye's brow furrowed as she searched her memories. "I did have a special ring once. It had an unusual pattern—almost like half of a complete design. I haven't seen it in years though.""Do you remember how you got it?" Yemin asked, his heart racing."It was a gift," Faye smiled softly at the recollection. "From a young boy, actually. I was maybe eleven or twelve at the time. I found him under a bridge during a rainstorm. He looked half-starved, poor thing."Yemin's breath caught in his throat. "What did you do?""I shared my lunch with him," Faye
