"The horses really did fuck us over with." Dana spoke as they treaded along the path nearing the mountains.

"I'm glad our weapons aren't on them." Colleen said. Eder and Eden laughed, watching a snake they caught try to bite at them as they threw it at them each, grabbing it by its tail.

"You guys really are freaks." Meena spoke, overlapping them on her Bison's back.

The sun was beginning to set and the area was getting dark. They had to find shelter, a journey at that time of the night could prove nasty.

"We'll find a settlement or a forest to settle in at night time. I can't afford us battling Demons when we should be resting." Colleen instructed. They acknowledged her words, still proceeding on the journey.

David was lost in his line of thoughts. He checked the interface and it was working perfectly. He just remembered how everything began to malfunction at the sight of Ares. He wondered why his flight didn't, maybe because it was already a part of him. He stared at the dagger

"Hey." He spoke, his eyes fully opening, she flinched backwards a bit, fear evident in her eyes. He groaned, sitting up. She stood at a safe distance from him, not uttering a word. He understood her, she was afraid. Even he was afraid of himself in that form. His gaze darted to a few metres from him. Ares's decapitated head lay there, his body still oozing blood like water through a stream. He turned his head back to her, not knowing what he would say. Finally, the words seemed to come out, even as they did, he felt no comfort in them. "I'm sorry." He spoke. She had turned slightly away from him, still afraid. "I know I lost control there. I don't have an excuse Colleen, I swear I'm sorry." He added, feeling less weighed down on by the words. "Are you alright?" She asked, a genuine look on her face. He was taken back. He expected her to yell, rant, scream at him, treating him with the dignity she would treat a terrible person, but she didn't. She was only concerned about his well-b

  • Lost control

David found himself in a dark void, floating in nothingness. To him, all he felt was the emptiness that surrounded him. The power he seemed to gain moments ago had eased and he felt less tense. He tried steering himself from the spot he was, expecting to find a way out of the darkness, he couldn't. He wondered why.Suddenly, the system interface appeared before him, the backlight darker than it once was and it's font now bolder. "What happened?" He asked, hoping it would communicate with him. The interface beeped, loading a feature on the screen. "OS UPDATED. VERSION 2.0, ACTIVE AND RUNNING"Was the display on the interface. "Hmm" he spoke, wondering if it was what gave him the ability to override the glitch with his interface when he was fighting Ares. "WELCOME BACK, PLAYER 1." It read. He nodded and the interface changed, displaying his current level, Level 19. He scrolled to the bottom of the interface and saw a new option. The option displaying his features. He clicked it and

  • This is what you wanted

David few back, avoiding the strike of Ares's sword. He hurled his dagger forward, attempting to stab at his shoulder. Ares slapped it off and jumped at him. He flew back again, letting the god land, then thrust towards his head, pushing his dagger forward. Suddenly Ares disappeared and he tumbled in the air, crashing against the floor. Before he could recover, Ares appeared behind him, driving a powerful kick to his side, throwing him against the mountain body. He landed, coughing, then propelled himself forward again. Ares disappeared once more and before he could change course, he felt the god's fist slap into his spine, causing him to crash on the floor again. He attempted to stump him and he flew away, withdrawing his daggers. He hurled them quickly at Ares who only slapped them off with his sword. The god dashed towards him, each step rumbling across the mountain. He punched at David who steadied himself, catching the punch with his hands. He pushed back and used the momentum t

  • This is the Epic Showdown

David was the first of all of them to wake up, the light of the day almost blinding him upon his rise. He looked around him, his friends all sprawled around him unconscious. He felt a little bang in his head as the recent event played in his head. He tapped Colleen, waking her up. She yawned heavily, stretching her limbs as she felt the fresh breath of a new day. He woke Dana next and the twins, then Meena, asking them if they remembered what had happened. They all confirmed the events of the previous night, from the fight against Ares to the divinity god and the imp helping them, telling them about Ares and how he got there. "Okay. We need to get to the scales of Ares now." He said as soon as they all confirmed his earlier question. Before they could protest, he added. "If we don't, he's going to kill those people, he'll probably invade Ladus and your respective hometowns. You won't want that. Let's get there first, I have a plan." "Is this plan the same plan from yesterday?" Meen

  • Calm your Mind

"Fear not. I am not here to cause you harm." A man spoke, emerging from the dark. He was old and seemed weak. He trembled with every step he took, his hands on a walking cane as he stepped forward. He was bald, but his beard, white and long flowed to his chest. It looked smooth and straight like relaxed hair. He stopped before them and the imp flew towards him, landing on his shoulder. He patted it on the head and it giggled, jumping and floating above the man's head. The old man waved around him, and a seat of rock emerged from behind him. He sat on it, resting his cane against it. "What were you saying about me dying?" David asked, approaching him. "Your plan is good, however that resurrection part won't work." He responded. "Explain what you mean by it won't work." David pressed. The older man chuckled, rubbing his beard downwards. "You are quite impatient. Calm yourself." "Okay." David said, easing the tension building up in him. The old man nodded and the imp clapped, attitu

  • It's a fucking Imp

They all landed on their backs, feeling the hard floor slap the base of their skulls and spines. They rallied, getting up, their backs turned against each other. They sensed quick, sharp movements from corners around their current location, all staying at alert as they felt the sounds. "Show yourself." Eden yelled. They heard a giggle and gripped their weapons tighter. "I won't repeat myself." Eden spoke, tightening his fists on his Sabre. Another giggle passed over their heads and they looked above. The rocky terrain above them being the only thing they could see. Suddenly, David stretched his right hand, grabbing something that seemed to fly fast. It was the creature stalking them and giggling, it was a small humanoid creature with animated features and a childish look. It was an imp. "It's a fucking imp." He spoke, releasing it. It giggled and took his form in its state, giving him a cartoonish look. "What's an imp?" Eden asked. David shook his head, his gaze fixated on
