He looked at Mia who looked scared when he first arrived. She looked like she was relieved at his presence. He wondered why she was teased around her own family.
It was glaring that she wasn’t comfortable around them and somehow she remained there. Why would anyone have a meal with people they were not comfortable with?
Lord Leinhart on the other hand was very furious, his plan of hiding his favorite granddaughter’ marriage had just failed before him. He didn’t want anyone in the family to know he would not have to melt out a harsher punishment to her.
He had a soft spot for Mia, knowing that she was capable and was smarter than most of the members of the family, she had a lot of enemies that would be trying to use that against her.
That was why he didn’t want to disclose it anyway but he would not protect the secret anymore. Aside from protecting her, the Nelson;s have higher chances of leaning on her marriage to another man now that the whole family knows that she is married to someone else.
Mia’s eyes were fixed on Logan, the man that she had woken up to,she had jumped out of the hotel without asking him for his name or any important information.
Her feelings were very mixed up at that moment, she was angry, surprised that he would show up at her family home, the most part of her was at comfort that he was there. She felt a sense of security around him.
It was rare for her to feel safe around people, she was even so comfortable with her parents, not to speak about a man she had a one night stand with.
“Will you mind explaining this to the family?” Lord Leinhart demanded, bringing her out of her thoughts.
“What did you say, grandfather?” She asked as she didn’t hear the question he asked her at first.
“Have you lost your mind now that he is here?” Lord Lienhart yelled as he was already losing his patience. “Tell us what is going on right!”
“Er… Grandpa, this man here is my good friend. We have been friends for a while now.. He is here to visit me as we have some pending issues to discuss.” She quickly covered up what Logan said.
“Good friends? That is not just what we are, sweetie. We are married.” he said and brought out a paper from his pocket then he showed the whole family. “I am sure that the Leinhart family must have received a copy of this today. This is the proof that I am legally married to Mia Leimhart.”
Meslisa got up from her seat and quickly snatched the paper from him to confirm if he wasn’t lying, “He is not lying. She is really married to him. Her stamp is on it.”
Most of the people in the family had their jaws dropping, they didn’t know that Mia was gouging to marry someone else asides the heir to the Nelson’s family.
Lord Leinhart slammed his hands on the table in anger. His fear had been confirmed. Her family members whispered almost to each other.
“I can't believe she is married to someone else. Father really wanted her to marry the heir of the Nelson's family.” One of her aunties said.
“It would be fake. We all know that Mia is one of the most sought spinster, he might be trying to creep his way into our family.”
“But you see that stamp on the registration is hers, grandpa had personally customized that stamp for her. No one in this world has anything like it.” Melissa said.
“I wonder how Grandpa must be feeling now. He really wanted her to marry Mike Nelson but she is now married to a poor man instead. What a plot twist.”
“Being Grandpa's favorite can not help her escape getting her penalty this time. I am sure father doesn’t support this bizarre behavior of hers." Melissa's mom
assured her daughter.
“Even if she wanted to defy her grandfather, couldn't she have picked from a better family. She picked nobody without a family to back him. I am sure he is so poor.’
“That must be the reason why grandpa kicked her back to the last table.'' Melissa said aloud for the whole family to hear what she said.”
“Is what he said true?” Mia’s mother questioned her but shw was unable to answer.
“I am so disappointed in you, Mia. How could you do to us and to yours? Did we raise you up to end up with a sloth like him?” Her father yelled at her angrily.
Her parents had thought that her grandfather was punishing her for some different reasons but they were embarrassed that she married a man like Logan.
From his name, he wasn’t a member of the top families in their city and he would do them no good.
“Why are you both yelling at her?” Lord Leinhart faced Mia’s parents. “It is your fault that this happened to her.”
“If you had taken your time to teach her about the family’s values, she wouldn't dare marry an ordinary person. Do not scold her.” He wanted to. “You have failed to raise her well, swallow your mistakes.”
Mia pinched herself hard, regretting what she did because her grappa was surely going to take his anger out on her parents.
“I can’t believe your grandpa is still defending her in this situation.” Melisaa’s mom spat loud enough for Lord Leinart to hear.
“Quiet.” Lord Leinhart cleared his throat and frowned. “From today, Mia will no longer be the CEO of the company. Her parents will have to leave the Villa with her. None of them is to return until she gets a divorce with her no-background husband."
