Logan had gone to remind Lucas about his promise to the Phoenix sisters.
He knocked on the door twice, and then he pulled the handle. “Going somewhere?” He inquired, seeing that Lucas was fully dressed that early morning. “I made a promise to Lara and her sisters, Logan. I don’t intend to go back on my words.” Lucas was already on his way out of the large bedroom, and Logan joined him at once. On their way striding along the hallway, Lucas looked at the portraits of his father hanging in different spots on the walls. A heavy sigh left him, but he was distracted by the appearance of his sister. Briana was curious. “Where are you going so early, Lucas?” She was worried that he was leaving them, especially as she saw the brown portable box he was carrying. Lucas chuckled softly, amused by the look on her face. “Cheer up, Briana. I am not leaving.” “So where are you going?” Briana returned her gaze to Lucas since Logan didn’t look like he was going to answer her question. “Someone needs my help, Briana. But I will be back as soon as I can.” Briana didn’t look like she was going to be pleased with his absence, but while she was still contemplating what to say to him, their Mother showed up. Scarlett also had the same expression as Briana when she saw Lucas fully dressed while Logan was still in his pajamas. “Don’t tell me that you are leaving us, Lucas.” She blocked the way, and the two stewards with her had to stand behind her. Lucas had another reason to chuckle softly. “I would never leave you, Mother. Not now…” He moved forward and kissed Scarlett on her cheeks. “I will be back soon.” He waved at her and walked away. Scarlett wasn’t satisfied. “Where is your brother going, Logan?” “To save a life, Mother. The Phoenix sisters pleaded with him to save their father’s life.” Logan caught the look on his mother’s face before she could discard it. “You knew Vance Phoenix was sick?” Scarlett shrugged. “I am not a Doctor, Logan! What could I have done?” Logan shook his head with a grimace. “Vance Phoenix was friends with Father, Mother. I am sure you haven’t forgotten that.” He walked away slowly, and after a while, Briana followed suit without speaking a word to their mother. Meanwhile, the moment he stepped out of the Foden tall multi-story building, he saw a man dressed in a striped uniform running to meet him. He was stopped by one of the guards standing by the corner. “I am here to see Lucas Foden!” He expressed loudly, trying futilely to get past the guard. He strained. “The Phoenix sisters sent me, Divine Healer! I swear on my life!” He seemed very desperate, acting as though his life depended on getting to Lucas. Lucas signaled to the guard who let the man run to him. “What’s your name?” He asked, but that didn’t stop the man from kneeling in front of him, caring less about his exhaustion. “Garry, Sir! Miss Lara sent me to get you, Divine Healer! You must come with me if you want to spare my life!” Tears almost fell from his eyes, and Lucas began to wonder what could make a man of such age teary. “Get up, Garry. I was already planning to go to them.” Garry sighed in relief. He got up from his knees and dusted his outfit. “This way, Divine Healer! I will drive you to the Phoenix Villa!” He pointed at the SUV parked in front of the gates, but Lucas didn’t look eager to go with him. Slowly, Lucas pulled out a car remote from his pocket and pressed one of the buttons. The black Rolls-Royce Spectre parked by the corner reacted with two resounding honks, loud enough to draw the Chauffeur’s attention. “Lead the way, Garry.” Lucas walked away, got into the car, and drove behind Garry who was left with no choice. The Chauffeur didn’t drive too fast in order not to let Lucas out of sight. When he saw Lara and her sisters waiting for him in front of their modern castle, he swallowed hard, slowing the speed of the car to keep Lucas close. Lara had already shown anger when she saw that Garry was alone in the car, but when she and her sisters saw the black Rolls-Royce wheeling into the premises, they stepped down at once, accompanied by their guards. Garry got out of the car, bowed to them while he was still trembling in fear. Lara looked down at him with a glare. “You are lucky, Garry.” Her eyes were red as she stared with a cold expression. “Leave.” She muttered, and Garry scrambled away. Instantly, she switched to a smile, and her sisters did the same. They were prepared to welcome Lucas, but he didn’t seem to be happy after seeing the way they treated poor Garry. As soon as he got out of the car with his box gripped in his hand, he sauntered toward them with a plain expression. “Welcome!” Lara offered him a handshake, but he turned it down with a look. Lucas wasn’t sure of which of the sisters was Lara, but he just assumed that she was the one standing in the middle and in front as always. “Why make a man scared?” He sighed. “Let me guess. You threatened to kill him if he returned without me?” Lara didn’t say a word, but her expression and those of her sisters were enough to show that they were guilty as charged. Eventually, Lucas followed them into the castle. He was taken straight into their father’s bedroom where he lay pale and blind with red veins. The two stewards dressed in similar uniforms to Garry’s looked like they were fed up with looking after him when he showed no signs of recovery. But they couldn’t say a word for the sake of their lives. Lucas walked straight to the old man, observing him from a distance. Since his other senses were highly active, Vance Phoenix perceived the presence of a stranger. “Who is that?!” He moved his head from one angle to the other, and the only reason he didn’t get up was that his bones were too weak and his muscles almost shut down. Lola was his favorite, she moved ahead of her sisters and grabbed his left hand. “Relax, Father. We brought the Divine Healer.” She knelt beside him, tightening her grip slowly while her sisters joined her.

Marry Them
Lucas forgot that he was in a hurry to leave. “You knew my father?” He asked, and Vance nodded with a smile. “We were best of friends, Lucas. Your brother didn’t tell you?” Lucas shook his head, unable to fight the urge to hear more from the old men.Vance turned to Lola. “Why didn’t you tell me Lucas Foden was the Divine Healer?” He didn’t look pleased with his daughters, and none of them had any excuse for their omission.”"We are sorry, Father.” Lara apologized on behalf of his sisters, but their father wasn’t bothered anymore. “I am sorry for what happened to you, Lucas,” Vance had an emotional look in his eyes, staring with wide eyes. “That was a long time ago, Mr. Phoenix.” Lucas forced a smile, not certain of which of his ordeals the old man was speaking of. Just then, the old man made a decision that was about to change the fate of his three daughters. He cleared his throat, and when it seemed like he was not going to be able to get rid of the clog that gripped h
Blind No More
Vance gasped as soon as he heard those words that resonated with echoes of hope and recovery in his ears.“The Divine Healer is here?!”His eyelids flickered, but his blinded eyes were not going to see Lucas. “Are you sure you brought him, Lola? I heard he was killed in a fire.” “He is standing right here in front of you, Father,” Lara assured, turning to Lucas with an assuring smile. Vance nodded, and then he started gripping, trying to sit up.The two stewards behind him quickly grabbed him and helped him up.“Divine Healer? If you are truly here, please save me!” His voice was laced with pangs of pain, but he still tried as much as he could to hold onto the hope that his daughters had given to him. Lucas stepped closer to the old man, still making his observations while everyone turned their attention to him. “Your Brain, Mr. Phoenix.” “What about his brain?” Lola asked the same question that her father would have asked if it had been possible for him to get rid of th

Phoenix Sisters
Realizing that Lucas already suspected their actions, the Phoenix daughters looked away slowly, unable to deal with his stern look. “What do you want?” Lucas asked again, but it didn’t look like the response was coming anytime soon. He sighed. “Well, if you are not going to tell me why you are here, I think we should continue with the party. The night is still young, and I haven’t even had a glass of wine.” “Wait!” Lara stopped him from leaving, and because he wanted to have a taste of sweet wine, Logan gestured to the sommelier carrying a tray filled with champagne flutes. He grabbed two, offered one to Lucas, and took a sip. None of the Phoenix daughters was ready to speak, but seeing that Lucas was gradually losing his patience, Lara who was the eldest decided it was high time she broke the lingering silence. “My father is dying, Lucas!” She swallowed hard, and even the heavy sigh she heaved wasn’t enough to get rid of the anxiety that gripped her.Her utterance had us
The Welcome Party
The night looked like it was the best moment to witness as guests all over the city trooped into the Foden Estate in their numbers. Even though the premises of the Greenland Villa didn’t look like it was not going to be able to contain the sleek cars that were lined up like metallic snakes inside the parking lots, anyone who saw the luxurious cars was going to think that they had walked into an automobile company. Inside the hall were guests in their numbers, brandishing their expensive outfits that matched the color of the day- white. The chandeliers hanging above them scintillated their glitter into the champagne flutes that the sommeliers were serving the guests. Whispers, laughter, and exchange of pleasantries filled the air, but it didn’t sound like they were going to be able to overshadow the live performance of the best orchestra giving their best by the corner of the large hall. Everyone anticipated the arrival of the long-awaited celebrant, but Lucas seemed not to b
