Chapter 2: Random Luck

Lucas was at the stables of the White Lotus sect when suddenly a new memory flooded his mind. He realized that he was not in his own body, but in the body of another Lucas, a horse cleaner in the sect.

Lucas quickly looked for a puddle in the stable and peered into it, confirming his suspicion. The reflection that stared back at him was handsome, but shabby, with tattered clothes.

Lucas' heart raced as he remembered the previous owner of this body. He had been a lowly horse cleaner, often bullied and beaten by the outer disciples of the sect. Lucas knew that he had to be careful, or he would suffer the same fate.

Just as he was lost in thought, he heard a noise outside the stable. A big man appeared, one of the outer disciples of the White Lotus sect. Lucas recognized him as one of the bullies who had often tormented the original Lucas.

"You're late again, horse cleaner," the man sneered. "You know what happens to those who don't follow the rules."

Lucas gritted his teeth, remembering the pain and humiliation that the original Lucas had endured at the hands of this man. But he was not the same person, and he was determined not to let history repeat itself.

"I'm not the same Lucas you used to push around," he said, his voice steady and firm.

The disciple laughed, "Oh really? And who are you then?"

"I'm Lucas, but I'm not just a horse cleaner anymore. I'm going to make something of myself in this sect."

The disciple's laughter turned to anger, and he swung his fist at Lucas. But Lucas managed to dodge just in time thanks to his Random Luck activating.

"What the-?" the disciple stammered, surprised by Lucas' quick reflexes.

"I told you, I'm not the same Lucas," Lucas said, a fierce determination in his eyes.

The disciple lunged at Lucas again, but this time Lucas was ready for him. He dodged and weaved, landing punches and kicks wherever he could. The disciple was bigger and stronger, but Lucas was faster and more agile.

"You little bastard!" the disciple roared, as Lucas landed a particularly hard punch to his gut.

"I may be small, but I'm not helpless," Lucas said, his voice filled with conviction.

Lucas' heart raced as he faced off against the outer disciple of the White Lotus sect. The man was huge, easily twice Lucas' size, and he had a look of pure malice in his eyes. Lucas knew that he was in trouble.

"You think you can take me on, horse cleaner?" the man sneered. "I'm going to enjoy teaching you a lesson."

Lucas also felt his guts shrink back a little after seeing the energy that the man in front of him exuded.

Lucas tried to stay calm, but his hands were shaking. "I don't want any trouble," he said. "Just let me go."

The man laughed. "You think I'm going to let you go? After what you did to my friend? You're going to pay for that."

Lucas knew that he was in trouble. He had no idea what the man was talking about, but he knew that he couldn't afford to back down. He took a deep breath and prepared himself for the fight.

The man charged at Lucas, swinging his fists wildly. Lucas tried to dodge, but he was no match for the man's speed and strength. He was quickly overwhelmed, taking blow after blow.

"You're going down, horse cleaner!" the man roared, raising his fist for a final, crushing blow.

But just as the man was about to bring his fist down, Lucas' hologram blinked, displaying the words "Random Luck." Suddenly, a horse appeared out of nowhere, blocking the man's attack.

The man stumbled back, surprised. "What the hell?" he muttered.

Lucas took advantage of the momentary distraction to land a punch of his own. The man staggered back, but he quickly regained his footing and charged at Lucas again.

Lucas tried to dodge, but the man was too fast. He felt a sharp pain in his side as the man's fist connected with his ribs. He stumbled back, gasping for breath.

But just as the man was about to land another blow, Lucas' hologram blinked again. This time, a tool fell from the rafters, hitting the man on the head and stunning him.

Lucas didn't waste any time. He grabbed a nearby shovel and swung it at the man with all his might. The man tried to dodge, but he wasn't fast enough. The shovel connected with his chest, sending him flying backwards.

The man landed on the ground with a thud, his neck poking into a piece of wood that was stuck in the ground. He let out a cry of pain, clutching at his neck.

Lucas stood over the man, panting heavily. "Stay down," he said, his voice shaking. "I don't want to hurt you anymore."

But the man just glared up at him, his eyes filled with hatred. "You're going to pay for this," he hissed.

Lucas knew that he couldn't take any chances. He grabbed a nearby rope and tied the man's hands behind his back. Then he searched the man's pockets, looking for any weapons or tools that he could use against him.

As he searched, he found a small pouch filled with coins. He took the pouch and stuffed it into his own pocket. He knew that he would need all the help he could get if he was going to survive in this new world.

With the man securely tied up, Lucas stumbled outside, retching and vomiting. The sight of the man's blood was making him feel sick. He leaned against the stable wall, trying to catch his breath.

As he stood there, trying to calm himself down, Lucas couldn't help but wonder what had just happened. He had never experienced anything like that before. Was it just a coincidence, or was there something more to it?

Lucas didn't know the answer, but he knew one thing for sure. He was going to have to be careful from now on.
