Jaron nodded to the Grand mage, acknowledging and still feeling the shock written on the man’s face. He’d received summons from nearly all the Demon Lords since his cataclysmic fallout with the Order, but never had Lilith ever contacted him.

The mysterious Demon Lord had been almost completely silent ever since the fall of the Prince 1,000 years ago. A silence such that most people had begun to forget what she was. Everybody talked about the Prince like he was the very height of power and dre

These four years also marked the beginning of important events in the Lower Aether. Demon Lord Lilith had gone into seclusion, leaving the running of the country to her first daughter, Inanna. Furthermore, Demon Lord Hornker had also gone into seclusion, leaving his country to his second son, and the army to his lieutenants. These things happened not long after Hornker had visited Lilith in her Palace. Those old practitioners naturally saw a connection between these events, but couldn’t be certain of anything. Besides, what Lilith and Hornker decided to do with their time wasn’t a cause for worry unless it affected their own interests. The more patient Transcendents continued to wait for the two monarchs to exit their seclusion, however long it took. They could sense that both monarchs had a plot hatching for the nameless continent, and all the upheaval in that continent recently had set their curiosity to a boil. The absence of Lilith immediately brought her rivals to the sp

  • CHAPTER NINETY SEVEN: Advancements

After that battle against the Dominion Realm Banshees, no more of the behemoths at that level appeared on the battlefield. The relatively smaller Banshees also thinned out after more than nine months of continued attacks until they were no longer seen. Hence, ten months after the defeat of those three massive Banshees, the Order declared the vicinity of Snakehills and Soulwood grove free of Banshees. But the soldiers who’d survived those months of brutal battle were sadly not given the rest they deserved. They were sent off instead to the front lines again. After all, while the Banshees were a problem in the Northwest, the Polian Empire and their demon allies were becoming a massive threat to the Eastern borders of the United Kingdoms. Austin was among the Purgers who were still stationed around Snakehills to ensure that the Banshee problem was truly over. So there he stayed, and completed his practice of the Body Forming Technique, also advancing fully to 45% Ice affinity.

  • CHAPTER NINETY SIX: Tyrannical

At the very moment that Master Hardy took out that Divine level sword, Master Windsor sat up on his chair in the room hidden underground the Castle. His eyes narrowed with worry and anger. Master Wyvrill was hundreds of kilometers away holding back the Polian Empire from evading, which meant that no other Dominion Realm practitioner was close enough to assist with the Banshees. He was angry that his existence was still a secret, otherwise he wouldn’t be forced to give that sword to the two Masters. But now it was too late, and there was hardly anything he could do about it.He knew the nature of Banshees and was confident that a single attack wouldn’t be enough to kill them. At least three attacks to overcome their tyrannical healing factor, then another to kill them. Hardy would never be able to swing that sword four times. And neither would Amara. Even if they exchanged between themselves – and the Banshees were willing to give them that chance – they’d burn through their co

  • CHAPTER NINETY FIVE: Absolute Despair

Austin watched along with the two Masters, his heart sinking further. Just the presence of those Banshees already warped the world around them, never mind when they actually made a move. He wouldn’t be shocked if a single strike from them could tear through reality. The entire battlefield had fallen silent with the appearance of these three Banshees. The relatively smaller Banshees made no further move as though a force had seized their ability to move. For the humans, it wasn’t a strange force, but rather overwhelming fear. Fear that taking a breath would attract the attention of these cataclysmic gods. Fear that this attention would erase them!Austin had felt aura at this level before. He had felt it from that Ngul Gomer Demon that led the demon army back in Snakehills. He knew it to be the aura of the Dominion Realm. This knowledge made his fear even more profound than that of the other soldiers, because he knew that their chances of survival were next to zero. Master Hard

  • CHAPTER NINETY FOUR: Emergence

The abominations were of course, Banshees that had surpassed the physical toughness of the Immanent Realm. It was their first time appearing on this battlefield, ever since one of them gave Gilgal and Yvaine a chase back then. These Banshees stood twice as tall as the others, and released auras that was even slightly more tyrannical than that of a Manifestation Realm practitioner. Their eyes were red and focused, and they slowly started towards the humans. Austin gasped, unable to stop his legs from taking a few steps backwards. The motion didn’t go unnoticed by the rest of the soldiers, but nobody had the time to criticize their companions. At this moment, who could tear their eyes away from those behemoths? Ashamed and angry at his reaction, Austin quickly steeled himself again. The relatively smaller Banshees were still tearing towards them, but it wasn’t those who held his attention. He caught the attention of the commanders, and barked at them, “Focus your volleys on those

  • CHAPTER NINETY THREE: Stand Fast!

Knight Austin was unhappy. He had never been in a battle like this for the majority of his life, and now it seemed like the only thing he knew. First had been the demon invasion and battle at Snakehills, where he’d been seriously injured. Waking up to the news of Gilgal’s secret, and escape from the Order with a demon. Then he’d been thrust headfirst into the battle against the Banshees! But that wasn’t all. Far from it! The demons had decided to attack again, using Poles as their sword once again, forcing half of the Order to head towards the borders of the United Kingdoms! This splitting of their forces had left him as the most advanced Purger Knight under the Masters at this part of the continent! The other Knights now looked up to him to lead, and the Masters expected the same. The ease he’d enjoyed when Gilgal was around to take the pressure off him was gone, and the full responsibilities of his station weighed upon him. He couldn’t even decide if he felt betrayed by the
