CHAPTER TEN
David smiled to himself as Sandra's perfect oval face reddened with more embarrassment and her blue eyes turned purple with the merger of red.
He had never imagined that vengeance could be handed to him so easily, barely a day since he had brutally been heartbroken and thrown into the bin like an unwanted cookie wrap.
In fact, rather than feel anger, he felt very horny at having Sandra kneel beneath him. Her submission was something so arousing to him. She looked humble just as she usually looked in bed with her hair imperfect and blue eyes changing into a wild colour.
Even with her flaws, it was difficult not to love every bit of her, not to yearn for his skin on her soft mushy body; on her voluminous standing breast that the only hard part was her pink nipple.
He had always fallen all over in love with her and he still did.
It was with the realization that he immediately rebranded his mind. How could he still be in love with a woman who has mercilessly thrown their relationship away within twenty-four hours?
A woman who had gone as far as bringing a divorce document without hearing out from him?
With the new thought direction, he took a heavy breath.
“Well, it seems the punishment has really gotten to her,” he began, relaxing his back on the soft chair.
“What do you think should be done?” He threw the question back to Roseline, happy that she was strong enough to seek vengeance.
“Fight her through the law?” He asked, feigning innocence while using a side glance to register the horror on Sandra's face with a smile on.
Certainly she would be appalled at the thought of appearing on court as a defaulter as that, according to her, would stain her perfect record and career.
“I'll do whatever you want,” she pleaded, more tears trickling down her face, smearing her mascara and blush.
She even sniffled catarrh in, something she had always guarded against; a behavior that she was always ready to kill to have around her.
He had been banned from being around her whenever he had catarrh. So he would always quickly get treatment because he never trusted himself to stay a day without speaking with her, without hearing her voice whether happy or angry.
He always wanted to hear from her. It never mattered if she would be rude to him or rain insults on him, it didn't matter. He had gotten used to it.
She had always been upright and rarely romantic.
All these new developments were surprising to David who had never expected to witness a day where Sarah would break even her own rules and beg?
He was certain the only plea he had ever gotten from her lips was “Baby, harder!!” which seldomly came with a “Please.”
“Well, going to court is one of the things we want,” Roseline stood over her, arms at akimbo. “Earlier on, you had just badged in unapologetically and straight up committed assault within seconds of your entry,”
“Did you think that was what either of us wanted?” she pointed to David and humphed.
“I…”
“I accept full responsibility for everything that went on minutes ago,” Sandra spoke slowly, cutting Roseline short.
“But please, allow me to pay for my sins right here,” she begged, two more tear droplets taking a fall to her chest.
“I would prefer to do anything in here than outside,” even as she was pleading, she sensed her pride and dignity evaporating from her, leaving an old poor hag to beg for the crumbs under her master's table.
If she had been told that a day like this would come where she'll have to beg to survive, she would have arrested such a liar.
But here she was, not only begging, but kneeling—being mocked in every way possible yet all she could say to her defense was “give me more”.
She was certain that her guardian angel must have summersaulted twenty times due to her unprofessional behavior and her father, turned over in his grave.
Dustan, whom she had earlier on chosen as someone she was going to spend the rest of her life with, was standing as still as a tree without even making an attempt to defend her nor speak up.
Yes, she must have done wrong. But he should've at least defended her and stood by her as her man and lover.
She was now left to reconsider her poor decision and wonder if she had not begun to grow stupid through her secretary's influence in making such a poor choice of a man.
But she quickly shook the thought away in order not to invent a type of regret that wasn't her usual manner of thinking.
She had been almost certain that she would never regret her decision but here she was, again, cursing herself for acting too impulsively.
“And what would you prefer doing if I may ask?” Roseline asked sarcastically, snorting out a laugh even before she had finished the question and cutting through her not so rosy trail of thought
Without waiting for her to give an answer, she turned swiftly to David, to read the look in his eyes in order to come to a decision.
Unfortunately, she couldn't understand the twinkle in his eyes; couldn't tell if it was revenge or lust that floated carelessly in his eyes or powerlessness that made his pupil dilate abnormally.
“David, you seem to always know how best to punish her,” Roseline said, fighting away the suspicious nagging thought in her mind. “Give the final punishment,” she voiced, although she wasn't as confident as her words. “She'll have no choice but to obey and do as you command.
With that, David smiled—a grin that went to his eyes and beyond, a grin that was suspicious enough to make Dustan move from his tree-like position and for the guard to cock his head questionably.
“Strip!!” The command left his lips, swift and straight forward.

CHAPTER THIRTY-TWORoseline watched the ambulance van pull away, with mixed feelings. Not like the mixed feelings were something to be alarmed about. It was just sadness and happiness. She was sad that he had to go through such a traumatizing incident but glad that she had been able to make it in time before he crashed his skull open. She watched the van until it disappeared from her sight, from the lonely road that branched away from her father's usual slaughterhouse. She had not had time to assure him of her love, to placate the fear that still lingered in his eyes. She could only imagine the fear that sliced through his heart. She shuddered, realizing that the same fear was working wonders in her too.She chose not to think about the shock that still hovered around, despite the amount of fear that sizzled in his eyes like electricity. He probably must have tried to make the connections by now. She shook her head sadly. She should've thought farther about this situation her dad ha
Chapter Thirty-One
CHAPTER THIRTY-ONEDavid had only to close his eyes for gravity to let him crash to the floor. He noticed the whooshing sound heightening but almost did not get it when it vanished. But he could at least tell that the flapping had ended and that he had met his doom.He waited for a trumpet sound; something to signal his entry into heaven or even hell. There was none. He waited longer. Maybe there was some delay in transmission. An angel must have forgotten to place him where he's supposed to be.But there still was no trumpet, not even its equivalent in hell; bull's moo. There was nothing. His childhood memory of the church was feeling threatened by this long silence. Then he heard the sound, sounds, the panic around. The screams and manly breath heaving.Commands flew everywhere, banging his ear drums with the stress on the different objects of the sentence.“Get him this, get him—” the sound got muffled by a movement around him.Someone was trying to pull him up, or was the perso
The Deed
CHAPTER THIRTY.“Your time is up,” Mr. Denver’s voice was barely above a whisper, laced with weakness that David doubted could show on his face.He swallowed hard. He could hear but could not see. But he didn't need to see to know who was speaking. He had seen him through the peephole. Common sense should have warned him of the strangeness of the visit. But he had smiled it off; glad to see him.He now wondered painfully, what about Mr. Denver's presence could ever cause him to smile?Bitterness swelled in his throat, spreading to his tongue. His chest compressed. He struggled to breath as the enormousness of his stupidity fell on him.He was the dumbest secret agent to ever live. He was for real, the worst. How could he have been so vulnerable? The thought sliced through him with embarrassment. He preferred his face covered. He didn't want to see any emotion play out on the man's face nor did he wish to be seen.“Didn't you hear me?” The voice rose. “I said, your time is up.” His

CHAPTER TWENTY-NINERoseline pulled the covers. The black cover cloth served its purpose. It was the best part of the escapade. A cloth not as soft as the usual one worn but also not as hard and brittle as a bucket. It was the perfect in-between. The perfect one that could fit even a giant's head.Sandra's red hair sprawled out; scattered and disorganized. That perfect cloth had accommodated that mass of hair. Her head fell on her chest, weak, just like her rotational neck. It was bare; both her chest and her arms were bare.As to why she would still have a nightdress on when the time had been running to 10 AM, was a question Roseline didn't try to waste her time thinking of.She dwelled on more present things. The room was stuffy and there were cobwebs around. It might not have been perfect for a bedroom, but it actually wasn't small in size. It was enough for four abductees to fit in together with each of their killers. There was no ceiling, the cobwebs took its place. She had not

His head ached; the position helped reduce that ache.Sunrise met him in the same position, motionless, staring into space.Life had happened to him. Thankfully Roseline and he had not yet taken their marriage seriously. They were at liberty to be wherever they wanted. He had not complained although he was surprised. It didn't show the love he thought Roseline had for him. She had always been all over him. But now, she seemed very distant. She barely met his eyes nor looked lovingly at his direction. The looks she gave him were usually looks of calculation and sometimes, regret. They had not even had sex yet. No laziness would succeed in keeping her pressed to the bed. However, she maintained that smile till she woke up.The sun was already up before her.
