Chapter 2

~Xavier

My fists tightened around the bridge railing. I lifted my right leg onto the top bar and shifted my left, ready to step forward.

Just as I was about to jump, a synthetic, cold voice echoed inside my skull like a computer.

[Xavier Steel, why do you have to kill yourself over a woman when you have the power to command all the women in the whole world?!]

I froze, then carefully stepped back down from the bars and looked around. No one was there.

Am I starting to hear things now? I scoffed under my breath. Women are never really pleased. Even after they leave you, they somehow make you start hearing voices. And you can never please them unless you’re rich.

[That’s right, Xavier Steel. Women are never pleased if you are poor. But with the Peerless Money System, women must be pleased!]

I staggered backward in fear.

“Peerless Money System?”

A flat, glowing computer panel suddenly materialized in front of me.

[Ding!]

[The Peerless Money System has been loaded.]

[Host: Xavier Steel]

[Age: 23]

[Height: 180 cm]

[Weight: 73 kg]

[Current Account Balance: $50]

[Health: 70]

[Stamina: 75]

[Skills: None]

[Affection Points: 0]

[System Funds: $990 Trillion]

[Main Quest Progress: 0%]

[Would you love to activate the Peerless Money System and stand a chance to unlock up to $990 TRILLION DOLLARS?!]

[Accept or Reject Offer!]

The synthetic voice in my mind and the floating panel in front of me scared the hell out of me.

First I was hearing voices, and now I was seeing things? Was I already hallucinating?

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, certain the floating technological panel would vanish.

But it didn’t. Even with my eyes shut, it remained right there.

I turned my head left—the panel moved with my gaze. I turned right—it followed again, always staying perfectly in front of me.

My eyes shot open.

If the panel moved with me no matter where I looked, then I wasn’t hallucinating. It was inside my mind. Only I could see it.

Bold, highlighted words floated across the panel:

Accept or Reject System

In that moment I remembered my roommate back at the yard—a hardcore webcomic fan who had once explained system plots to me in detail.

Hold on… if I accept this system, would I really be rich?

I took a deep breath and reached toward the left side of the panel where the word “Accept” glowed.

The instant my finger touched it, a chime rang out.

[Ding!]

[Peerless Money System activated successfully!]

[Congratulations, Host!]

[Total System Funds: $990 Trillion]

[Initial Cash Reward: $1 Million]

[The Host can unlock the remaining System Funds by completing System Missions and following the rules of the Peerless Money System!]

Right after the announcement, my phone vibrated.

I pulled it out. A bank notification stared back at me.

“Credit Alert! You have received one million dollars! “

“Current Balance: One Million and Fifty Dollars!”

Holy shit.

System?

Excitement exploded through me.

This system is real… and I am fucking rich!

I am a millionaire!

I was still riding that high when I suddenly froze.

If I remembered correctly, the system had said that accepting the offer would let me unlock $990 trillion.

So why had it only given me one million?

Was it a liar just like everyone else?

[No, Host! The system is not a liar!]

The panel flared brighter.

Jeez…

Did this crazy system just hear what I was thinking?

[The system is inside you. You are the system. You don’t need to say anything—I can hear it even before you speak.]

I rolled my eyes.

“You said I would receive $990 trillion if I accepted the offer, but my account says otherwise. I always knew you were just like the systems in my neighbor’s books!”

[Host must be aware of the rules of the Peerless Money System!]

I blinked twice. Huh?

[The rules are simple, Host. You only receive $1 million as your first cash-out. But that is not all you get. You have full access to unlock every dollar in the system—up to $990 trillion!]

“And how exactly do I do that?”

[Just as the system stated, the rules are simple. All your money must be spent on qualified members of the opposite sex. The more money you spend on women, the more cash-back you receive. You will continue receiving cash-backs up to $990 trillion as long as you spend on qualified women and complete your missions!]

I scoffed.

“What a crazy system!” I shouted. “I just got betrayed by a woman, and you expect me to spend all of my money on women?!”

A few people walking past the bridge stopped and stared at me like I had lost my mind.

Some pointed.

“Is he mad or something?”

“I heard Isabella Milton dumped him this morning. Maybe that’s what’s driving him insane.”

“Should we call the psychiatric emergency line before he falls off the cliff?”

One of them looked me up and down. “And why is he dressed like that? He looks like a psychopath”

I ignored every word. None of them mattered. What mattered was the system floating in front of me, ordering me to pour money into the same gender that had just destroyed me.

I turned back to the panel.

“There’s no way I’m spending that money on women. I’m going to spend my wealth on myself—not on the female gender!”

Isabella had hurt me because she thought I was poor. Now I was a millionaire. I would elevate myself and show the world exactly what a real millionaire looked like.

I started walking toward the nearest mall when the floating panel suddenly blocked my vision and the synthetic voice rang out again.

[Main Quest Released!]

The panel expanded.

[Limited-Time Mission: Spend all of your first payout within 24 hours and gain 30 Affection Points from members of the opposite sex.]

I blinked.

Spend all of my first payout within 24 hours?

My first payout was one million dollars.

How the hell was I supposed to spend one million dollars in a single day?

And most importantly of all, what reward do I get by spending all my money in 24 hours?

[The reward of the host is revealed after the mission is completed! Complete the Quest to get your reward!]

~XavierWhen I turned and saw Isabella trying to catch up with me, I was genuinely stunned. This woman still hadn’t left? And wasn’t she supposed to be with Carl? Where had Carl gone? There was no need to give her any attention. I turned and kept walking.A hand suddenly grabbed my arm from behind.Isabella stood there, her face stiff. “Xavier, are you avoiding me or what?”Avoiding you? I scoffed and threw her hand off me. “I have important things to do. You’re not worth my time.”She closed the distance between us. “Are you angry with me, Xavier? And why are you shopping with Marie today? What’s the relationship between the two of you?”I gave her a cold look. “It’s none of your business.”“Xavier, you’ve changed!” Her voice turned more aggrieved. “You weren’t like this before.”I nodded without hesitation. “Because I’ve gotten smarter. I’ve changed.”Isabella continued, “I know I did things you didn’t like and never prioritized your needs. That hurt your feelings. But

~XavierI took Marie to the Royal’s Kitchen. Once we settled at our table, the waiter brought the menu and asked us to order.I didn’t ask Marie what she wanted. I simply ordered for both of us.I wasn’t going to be a simp who bought women whatever they asked for. Instead, I bought whatever I wanted to enjoy. I felt like seafood, so Marie would eat the same thing.Women were decorative objects and companions. I only took them along so I could enjoy life more fully. This way I could keep beautiful women by my side, showcase my abilities in front of them, and watch their Affection ratings climb—which worked entirely in my favor.Marie didn’t decline a single dish I ordered. We got grouper, Italian lobster with a rich Italian sauce, crab stew, and several other exquisite plates. The restaurant’s minimum was $266 per person, but my order easily exceeded $700. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. It really was a high-end place with outstanding seafood. Marie ate until she was completely satisf

~IsabellaI blinked repeatedly at the figure standing in front of me, trying to make sense of what I was seeing. Was that really Xavier? Looking this handsome after just one haircut? The designer clothes, the cool, confident smile—everything about him suddenly looked far more attractive than I could even process.Xavier had never been this handsome while we were still dating. What had suddenly happened? How could he glow up this much in just one day of separation?I was still turning the thought over in my mind when Marie’s voice rang out.“Oh my God, Xavier. You look pretty hot! I’ve never seen a guy as handsome as you before!”When she said that, Carl immediately adjusted his own hair.Xavier gave Carl and me a dismissive look before turning to Marie with a light scoff.“Yeah, thank you for the compliment. You look even hotter than earlier. Such beauty… I have to admit it.”The words nagged at my chest. Why was Xavier complimenting her like that—as if she were some kind of godde

~XavierFive years into our relationship, I remembered it all with perfect clarity.Every morning I woke up early just to prepare and serve Isabella her breakfast. Whenever I handed her the plate, she would take it with a cold, downgrading look and say:“Alright, you can go ahead and leave already.”If it was raining and she still hadn’t left for school, I would drop whatever I was doing, rush to her apartment, hand her an umbrella, and walk back under the rain myself. Her only response was always the same:“You’re late.”And whenever she fell sick, I would hurry over with a cup of ginger tea so she could drink it and feel better. After everything I had done for her… she still held no real affection for me?Her affection rate had stayed locked at 1. Yet today, the moment she watched me spend large amounts of money, it suddenly jumped from 1 to 8.“Xavier! Xavier! Wait for me!”Isabella’s voice called out behind me. I turned and saw her trying to catch up. The closer she came, t

~XavierI waited patiently until Isabella had finished underestimating me all the way down the corridor, then calmly handed the cashier my debit card. Of course it was loaded with cash. The moment the machine beeped—Payment Successful!—the confident smile on her face vanished. Her mouth opened, closed, then opened again, but no words came out. Even Carl’s face showed how shocked they both were.I decided to twist the knife a little deeper. When the cashier handed my card back, I smiled at them.“Sorry… what did you say again? That I cannot afford one hundred thousand dollars?”Isabella’s face drained of colour. She shook her head in panic.“No way. You’ve got brokeness written all over you. You’re always dressed in worn-out clothes. How were you able to afford one hundred thousand dollars?! You are…”She stopped mid-sentence. Her eyes trailed over my outfit from head to toe. She pointed at me.“Wait… hold on! Those are all designer brands. How did you afford the money to buy all of t
