Riley Anderson was losing his breath as soon as he saw the word abilities.

"Abilities?, missions?" Riley whispers to himself, his mind racing as he tries to understand what is going on, as he wonders if it is possible that there was more to him that he never knew.

The screen disappeared once more the same way it mysteriously appeared leaving Riley Anderson staring at an empty air where he saw the system screens.

Riley Anderson's heart was still racing as he sat down frozen and wondering what all of that meant and what would happen next.

Riley Anderson couldn't believe what he had just witnessed as he sat there completely dumbfounded as he kept staring at the spot where the system screen disappeared from. His mind was racing as he was processing what just happened.

"Was I hallucinating?" Riley Anderson asked himself as he couldn't believe his eyes so he blinked several times and he was then certain that the system screen was gone and once again the room became quiet except for the sound of crackling fire in the other room.

Riley Anderson heart kept beating in his chest as he wondered if all of this could be real because just moments ago he was a weakling, orphan boy and was not sure about his purpose in life and now out of nowhere he has been given a stats like he was a character in a video game and equipment he had never heard of such as energy blade, night vision, Elemental and super cloak.

Riley Anderson kept trying hard to process all of it but none of it made sense as he wondered why the system chose him, and was surprised because he had always been an ordinary boy struggling with life challenges but not someone with super abilities or hidden powers.

Riley Anderson stood up slowly as he tried to test if the system screen would appear back but nothing happened. He kept wondering if there was something inside him that he didn't know about or was there some secret tied to his past or his grandmother's death.

Riley Anderson began to breathe heavily as he needed answers for all these questions running through his head but didn't know who to ask and was certain not to bother Mr Daniel with it so as to avoid sounding crazy.

Riley glanced around the room hoping to find a clue but everything was like that just as he was.

Riley Anderson was shaking before he finally sat back. The edge of the bed while holding his head in confusion. If this is not a dream then it means something bigger is happening and he is involved but what?, he kept wandering.

Then suddenly a thought came to his mind like a whisper, Riley Anderson who was still trying to process what the strange system screen showed. As his mind was racing in different directions.

Riley Anderson stood up as his legs were still trembling and decided to calm himself down.

"I need a glass of water, I hope it would put me at ease" Riley Anderson said as he was hoping it would help him clear his head.

He left his room and made his way to the kitchen, he walked quietly on the wooden floor so as not to disturb Mr Daniel sleep, and the hose was silent as usual except for the crackling of the fire.

Riley Anderson took an empty glass and filled it with water from the tap that was sun in the kitchen. After taking a deep breath, Riley cranked the water and the water was rushing into his mouth.

At first it was refreshing just like any other glass of water. But then something strange happened, as soon as the water entered his stomach, he felt a sudden surge of energy like a spark, sparking inside his body.

His muscles were vibrating and his heartbeat accelerated, it was as if the body was rejecting the water within him as the sensation was painful and was sparking like an electric current running under his skin.

"What is happening to me!" Riley muttered in pain as he dropped the glass cup, it shattered immediately.

Riley was about to fall before he reached out for support and was able to stand.

Riley's Grandpa said him struggling in the kitchen, he immediately rushed in to support his grandson.

"Riley are you okay, what happened?" He said as he placed his arm around Riley.

"I'm good, just take me to my room" Riley said softly.

Mr Daniel immediately took him to his room and placed Riley on the bed.

Riley laid in the bed and immediately passed out cold.

Mr Daniel left him to rest, thinking it was the stress that caused it.

Morning sun rose, it was a bright morning.... Everyone in the weak habitat has gone about doing their various jobs.

Riley's grandfather was at his blacksmith shop, while Riley was just waking up, all he could remember was that he drank water which made him uncomfortable and he slept off.

Riley went to his grandfather's shop and saw the old man working.

"You got up early," Riley said with a smile on his face.

"Riley!...my God, finally. I thought you weren't gonna wake up, took you long enough " his grandfather said before hugging him tight.

"Umm, what do you mean?" Riley asked, looking confused.

"Don't you remember?' his grandfather responded.

"Um last night I remember I took a cup of water and I felt uncomfortable, so I went to sleep" Riley said.

"Last night?, Riley you've been asleep for 3 days" His grandfather replied.

Riley was shocked, was it because of the water I drank, is my body now allergic to liquids?
