Drip. Drip. Drip.

The sound of sneakers colliding against wet mushy grass echoed in the silence of the night as Jason stood before the gigantic gates of the Chris Manor.

Currently the large gate was left ajar. Lying a few feets away was a corpse who Jason identified as one of the Manor's Security Guards.

"What the hell?!" an ominous feeling couldn't help but creep into Jason's heart as he sped towards the large Manor Building.

Along the way, he ran past more than ten corpses carelessly laying around. However Jason was too worried about his parents condition to pay the corpses any heed.

"Mum! Dad!" Aiden cried with hints of dread as he hurriedly pushed open the Manor Entrance door.

Looking over, his face became ashen when he spotted a corpse at the foot of the staircase. It was the corpse of the Manor's Head Maid.

"No!" Jason's lips trembled.

Miss Nicholas. She was his Nanny and also his wet nurse when he was a little baby. She was like a second mother figure to him. Yet here she was before him.. a cold corpse.

"Mum! Dad!" forcing back the torrent of tears building up within, Jason literally flew through the flight of stairs. Along the way he ran into the corpses of the Manor Maids and servants.

The repulsive smell of blood hung thickly in the air. Ignoring the sickening smell, Jason finally arrived at the Kings Room of the Manor.

Pushing open the door, he found a figure standing in front of the window. A few meters away were two corpses on the ground.

Identifying them as his parent's corpses, Jason attempted to rush towards them only to run into an invisible force field that flung him slamming to the wall.

"Don't tell me you are ignoring my presence boy?" a sneer rang out as the figure in the room turned around.

"Uncle Ben??!" Jason's eyes flashed with confusion.

"Hello Nephew. I take it that you are doing alright?" Uncle Ben snickered as he slowly began to walk towards Jason.

"Uncle we have to take my parents to the hospital or they won't be able to make it. I don't know what happened but it would seem that the Manor was attacked. We have to hurry now Uncle!" Jason cried anxiously.

"Oh. I know that.." Uncle Ben chuckled as he pointed towards Jason.

"That's because I was the one who did this"

"You--"

Jason suddenly felt an invisible grip on his throat as he got swept off his feet, floating in mid air as the invisible grip choked him.

"It would seem you were late.. like always dear Nephew. You are always late. Whether it was the duration of your pregnancy, your first time to talk or walk. You were always late. This isn't good though. You missed the fun part of how your parents screamed in agony while I killed them. It was quite refreshing. The look on your parents eyes as I ripped out the life out of them while in this meat suit. It was quite refreshing actually.." Uncle Ben snickered evily as he arrived before Jason, patting his cheeks.

"Don't despair though. You are going to join them very soon.. however you just have to do something for us.." Uncle Ben reached for Aiden's forehead.

"Unfortunately this is the end of the road for you!" a feminine voice suddenly rang, followed by a quick chant.

"Eugua!"

Boom!

A searing hot ball of red flames shot towards Uncle Ben. Judging by the intensity of the heat, he would be burnt into black crisp if the ball of flames collided with him.

"Tch. Nosy Hunters!" Uncle Ben snickered as he calmly side stepped, dodging the ball of flames.

"Jason! duck!" the warning had only just rang out when a figure dropped down from above, a large axe chopping towards Uncle Ben.

Splurt!

An arm flipped through the air as Stephen appeared in front of Jason. In his grip was a large axe that was glowing a brilliant golden color.

"Stephen?" Jason felt the invisible grip vanish as he gave Stephen a puzzled look.

"Eugua!" another chant rang out as Aletta walked into the room. A glowing Tome was floating mid air in front of her.

A strange pattern suddenly appeared in the air as another ball of flames shot out from this pattern, slamming towards Uncle Ben.

"Damnit" Uncle Ben cussed as he dodged the fireball yet again.

He seemed to be moving like a phantom.

"Till we meet again Nephew" dropping these words, he suddenly raced towards the door, breaking past it and disappearing into the dark of the night.

An awkward silence suddenly ensued as Jason gave the siblings before him a look.

"What the hell is going on?!"

.

.

Rustle. Rustle. Rustle.

Jason calmly stood before a burning altar as he watched his parent's corpses gradually burn into ashes. It was unknown what was going on in his mind.

"How are you holding up?"

Looking over, he saw Aletta staring at him intently.

"What do you think?" Jason's lips broke into a mocking smile.

"I came home to see my favorite Uncle murder my parents. My friends are ghost hunters undercover and I am currently targeted by Demons. What do you think?"

"Sigh. I don't really expect you to digest everything all at once. However we have to move now" Aletta's tone was filled with urgency.

"What the hell are you talking about? my parents just died. Am I not allowed to mourn them?" Jason frowned with displeasure.

"I don't mean to come off heartless, but I am afraid you don't have the luxury to do so"

"You see that demon who possessed your Uncle Ben? we only scared him temporarily and he won't stop until he has you.. we have to take you to a safe sanctuary "

"What would a demon want from me anyways?" Jason was starting to grow frustrated

Things just didn't make sense to him at this point. Although he was a spoilt rich brat and a jerk, he never ever recalled pissing off a demon.

"We don't know. I and my brother were just tasked to protect you and take you away once you clocked eighteen. We never expected the demon to make a move so fast " Aletta sighed.

"So the friendship we shared.. it was all fake?" Jason gave her a deep look.

"I..." Aletta didn't know how to reply.

"That's okay. Where are we going to anyways?" Jason asked.

"Washington DC "

"That's pretty far from here. I don't suppose we are going to use a private jet?"

"No. Its going to be a long road trip.."

"That works fine. I can use that time to have my revenge!" Jason clenched his fist.

"Don't start talking crazy now. We were asked to protect you from the demon. Not mark you as a target!" Aletta firmly disagreed.

"Hmpfh. If you were in my shoes, don't tell me you are going to sit back? since this demon took the people most important to me, I'm going to have my revenge no matter what it takes" Jason vowed icily.

At that moment the hate he was feeling was so intense.

"How? I mean you don't even know where this demon is!"

"Hmpfh. Didn't you say your brother and you are Mystique Hunters or something? I am going to be one too and I will slaughter any ghost or evil creature that I set my eyes on till the time I have the head of that hateful demon on a plate"

Jason had only said this when he heard a robotic voice in his head.

"What do you want to know?" half a minute into their flight, Alan broke the silence. "Three people important to me died.. how do I get their souls back from the Phantom Plane?" Alan paused for a bit before be replied. However this time, his voice sounded grim. "Give up on this pipe dream of yours if you know what's good for you. " "And what's that supposed to be?" "Take a look around you.. what do you see?" "Sand? a bunch load of it?" casting his eyes around as they cruised through the air, all Jason saw was a desert that seemed to stretch beyond the boundless horizon. "This is the Field of Northern Sand. Think of the entire Phantom Plane as a boundless void and the Field of Northern Sand as a small planet thriving within this boundless void.. just a single small unit within a sea of other planets. Except in this case, the concept of Space and time doesn't exist in the Phantom Plane. I don't know how long it's been since I died but during my time, I recalled that space is mer

"Rear Commander?" a sneer tugged across the corner of Alan's lips after hearing the statement of the Kincie below him. "You are barely a top figure amongst the Soul Reaper tier, don't you think your aspiration to be a Rear Commander is nothing but a pipe dream?" The level 3 Soul Reaper snorted. "My ambitions is something that you cannot comprehend. And even if you do, it won't make any difference since you won't be present to actually witness it.." finishing this sentence, the convergence of plasmic energy around the right palm of the Level 3 Soul Reaper finally stopped. — or to be precise, solidified into draconic elbow length gauntlet wrapped around his right arm. "Roger.. this is the name of my sjælehøster.." the Level 3 Soul Reaper clenched his right fist that was currently wrapped underneath the elbow length sleek black draconic gauntlet. "I never asked for its name.." with a single powerful flap of his wings, a powerful sonic boom erupted, propelling Alan further into the

  • Chapter 77 — Running Into A Kincie

Whirl! Whirl! Whirl! "This is supposed to be the Phantom Plane, a place beyond space and time so why do I feel like I've been plunged into the artic tundra?!" Jason complained while trudging across the arid terrain that seemed to stretch out towards the boundless horizon. Besides him was the level 10 Ghost Lord; Alan Jackson. However unlike Jason, Alan's movement were more fluid; obviously because he was already well accustomed with the Phantom Plane's terrain. "It is. However it is a lot more complicated than that.." Alan replied, taking a small pause before he continued. "Right now, we are located at the Fields of Northern Sand.. What you are trudging across isn't the normal sand that you encounter back at the Terra Plane. No, they are actually extremely condensed particles of pure plasmic energy. If it wasn't for your Kincie form, you wouldn't have lasted up to a split second before being submerged.." Jason's brows furrowed. "Let me guess, I don't want to know what happens af

Like a snowball, Jason crashed back in the ground only coming to a stop after roll-skidding a large ravine like crater that stretched out for about fifty meters. "Splurt!" Jason tried emerging from the ravine only to vomit another mouthful of blood. Although he could sense that his physical body wasn't present within the Penalty Zone, the collision made him feel like half of the bones in his body were shattered. This caused him to suck in a cold breath of relief. Even with the combination of [Overrun] and the boost from [Eternal+], he almost died from tanking that hit. What if he had been too arrogant or careless to s

"L--Level thirty?!" Jason stared at the information on the system floating screen. Did the system experience a glitch or something?! "Heh. Brat, you seem like you've just seen a ghost.." the level 30 Malevolent squinted his eyes in a predatory manner as it snickered. "Eh?" however his expression suddenly went sullen upon noticing that it failed to elicit the reaction he was expecting "Didn't you just hear what I said? You look like you've just seen a ghost because I am actually a ghost.. hahahaha!!" "Seriously?" Jason's brows twitched as he watched the other party laughing at their own joke. He never knew that Malevolents had a sense of humor. Infact a majority of the Malevolents he's encountered so far were either stone cold silent or desired to consume him. This was the first Malevolent he's encountered that seemed eager to converse with him and even attempt to use pun jokes [Jason..] "What's it.." Jason could sense the panic in Sofia's voice. —[Host has been transported to the penalty Zone]—[Penalty Zone Duration: - - -] "Ugh.." snapping his eyes open, the first thing that Jason sensed was the blistering heat and hotness of direct sunlight blasting onto his face. Groaning with dissatisfaction, Jason blocked the sharp rays of sunlight with the back of his hand. Struggling back on his feet, he noticed he was no longer at the gymnasium of Peach Blossoms High. –Scratch that. It didn't look like he was in anywhere near Texas! Sand.. Hot sharp sand and a lot of them. This was the only thing that Jason could observe, stretching out for what seemed to be an endless expanse. "Did I get transported to Africa?" he wondered aloud. How else could he explain the scenic desert around him. [This.. This isn't some subsharan part of the African continent I'm afraid..
