The event started and Daven got to sit at the forefront with Blackman and the doctors. Even Gerald couldn't sit very close to his father but Daven did.

Daven watched Doctor Blackman give a tremendous speech about a new aspect of medicine they were researching on and he was intrigued.

The complex system in his body had opened the door to a lifetime of opportunities for him and even though he never saw himself as a doctor before, he began to consider it.

“Tell me, how was my speech? Were you intrigued?” Blackman struck up a conversation with Daven.

“Yes, Doctor Blackman, I was intrigued. I kind of want to become a doctor now.” Daven smiled. He had already completed the first part of his mission, and now he was onto the second part.

“Really?” Blackman’s eyes lit up. “You know, as long as you have the perseverance and determination, you can become one.”

“Would you like to enroll in medical school? As soon as your father’s surgery is done, we will start the process.” Blackman was literally jumping in his seat, eagerly expecting Daven to accept his request.

On the other hand, Daven realized he didn't even need to do much to complete his task.

“That’s a good offer. But I will only accept on one condition.” Daven smiled, a cunning look flashing in his eyes.

“What condition?”

“Become my mentor. While I am in medical school, teach me every single skill you have. You are the best doctor around, I would love to learn from you.” Daven threw in a hint of praise, to massage his ego.

On the other hand, Blackman’s eyes shone. He had never seen a young man like Daven offer something this way. His son, which he hoped to become a doctor disappointed him but Daven here was willing.

“Agreed. But I won’t go easy on you.” Blackman nodded and stretched his hand.

Daven shook it immediately, “Thank you, teacher. I will do my best to learn from you.”

On the other hand, Gerald watched them both like a hawk, his heart pounding in his chest. He wondered what Daven was telling his father. With the way his father was smiling at Daven so widely, Gerald knew his father had been completely enchanted by Daven.

“That bastard! How could he be so cunning?” He sneered. “How did he even survive that accident?”

In his mind, he realized he had to find a way to get rid of Daven for good.

On the other hand, Daven excused himself, wanting to go to the restroom. And as soon as he stood up, the system’s voice resounded in his mind.

[Congratulations, Daven King! You have completed your tasks and you have been rewarded with 1000 points and 2 million dollars!]

Thinking of all the things he could purchase with that money, Daven smiled as he walked into the restroom. He didn't even need to check when his phone rang out, he was sure it was a credit alert.

However, someone else didn't share the same happiness as him.

“You bastard!” Gerald rushed into the restroom and slammed the door shut. His gaze darkened as he watched Daven go straight to the sink to wash his hands.

“What do you want?” Daven asked casually.

“Get the fuck out of here or I will make you!” Gerald threatened.

“Really?” Daven chuckled, drying his hands. “What are you going to do to me? Run me over again?” He sneered.

Gerald felt like he was going to go mad seeing the way Daven was so casual. He rushed to grab Daven, spinning him around.

“Don’t fucking play with me, fishtail! I got rid of you then, I thought you were going to die from my car hitting your smelly body. But it turns out you have some will to live within you, don’t you?”

“If you don’t get the fuck out of this place, I will drill a hole into your heart and dump you at the ends of the earth!”

Gerald made sure his gaze was fierce, one that Daven the cleaner would fear.

However, Daven chuckled, “Do it, then!”

“What?” Gerald was shocked. He watched Daven walk toward the door casually to leave. He felt so humiliated and Daven had to pay for that.

He clenched his jaw, fisted his hand, and sent a punch straight at Daven.

However, his fist hit the wall…bang!

Daven had dodged just by an inch since he turned to look at Gerald in time. His eyes zeroed in on the fuming Gerald, and he knew he could never win a fight with him.

But then...

[Attention! The system has detected a weakness! You lack the ability to fight! Buy the level 1 fighting skills to crush your enemy and turn your weakness into a strength!]

[Do you want to?]

As the System spoke, Daven had to keep stepping away from Gerald. He knew he had to subdue Gerald quickly.

“Yes.” He answered the system.

Immediately, a clicking sound resounded in his mind, like a new door was being opened.

[You have now been upgraded!]

At the same time, Daven felt more energized seeing those stats. He felt like a new person and he copied Gerald’s actions, fisting his hands.

“Are you trying to punch me?” Gerald snickered, rushing to throw another punch.

But this time, Daven didn't dodge, he met Gerald’s fist head-on.

Bang!

Their fists clashed and it sent Gerald staggering backward and he felt his bone shift.

“You…” He gasped, holding his hand in pain. “What did you do?”

“Don’t ask! Just take my fucking punches!” Daven became energized as for the first time, he was able to land a hit on Gerald.

All the pent-up anger from the bullying and the insults he endured resurfaced. He rushed at Gerald and sent a punch, straight to his face.

With just one hit, Gerald’s body shook vigorously. He staggered again and fell to the ground heavily.

“For all the bullying!” Daven bent down and caught him by the collar. “Take this!” A fist was sent flying to Gerald’s face, and his lips burst open, spilling out blood.

“For the insults!”

Bang!

“For running me over!”

Bang!

Gerald couldn’t even defend himself. His face was swollen and bloodied and he was paralyzed by shock and fear because of the murderous look in Daven’s eyes.

However, the door opened at that moment and Blackman with the other doctors rushed in quickly. They had been notified of the commotion.

Immediately Gerald saw his father.

“Father…” He cried, pointing his fingers shakily at Daven. “He wants to kill me. Please, save me.”

He just needed something to hold onto, since the proposal couldn't be trusted completely. However, the old man shook his head, “I can’t let you know that.”“Like I told you. Only after you agree to the proposal would you know the details and everything you want to know, you will, after that.”“Is that so?” Daven raised a brow, as his trust dwindled. He raised his hand to wave and dismiss the old man, but then OR door was suddenly pushed open. Two nurses rushed out, and Daven immediately stood in their way, panicked.“What’s going on?” He asked.“Please, step aside…” They quickly pushed him aside, but then he saw their distress too. As they disappeared and reappeared down the hallway, they carried a box containing blood bags and Daven’s heart couldn't help but sink further, wondering if Elena would survive.“With all you have seen, wouldn’t you take my proposal? I don’t think you can stand the rage any longer…”He cl

Gerald is looking all over you. Ari says he has a gun.”“What?” He gasped.“Yes! Get the hell out.”Elena ended the call the next second and Daven looked around, checking his surroundings. He had expected Gerald to appear in rage, but he didn't expect the bastard would be so brazen to wield a gun.“Stupid…” He chuckled, with no ounce of fear in his eyes. And he knew no matter where he went, Gerald would always come after him. So, he walked casually around, but his eyes were on every nook and cranny.

  • Suicide Note

Daven pursed his lips, as Blackman led him into the meeting room. Georgina was also at the forefront, alongside the familiar faces from last time. However, his eyes landed on his teacher again and he saw how listless he looked. My parents didn’t, nor anyone else around me.”“But I was stupid to think I wanted more, to let the pressure from my poor and uncaring parents get to me. I thought you weren’t enough, and so, I had to be with Gerald.”

The class murmured, pointing accusing fingers at Dayna. “She is just too rash!”“Why couldn't she just listen to save Chris? She is just a proud bitch, with no sense of reasoning!”Dayna covered her ears, glaring at Daven with eyes that spilled venom before she snapped back at the others.“Why are you all blaming?” She hissed. “Daven is the bad one here. He is the one who broke Chris’ fingers.”“Attack him! Not me!” On the other hand, Daven had let go of Chris and he now writhed on the floor, clutching his limbs. Due to the immense pain in his body, he couldn't speak a word as tears spilled from his eyes and sweat trickled down his back.Daven finally stood before Dayna, with a slight smile, “Do you really care about Chris or are you just trying to attack me?”“What…what do you mean?” She blinked and immediately stepped away from Daven due to the pressing aura around him.“I am just saying. I am not unreasonable enough to break his fingers over a petty beef you are trying to bring u
