6. Inexperienced

CHAPTER SIX

After listening to Cecilia 's raging words, he gave out an exasperated sigh. 

He didn't want to argue anything with her, he just cut off the line. 

Cecilia  fumed when she saw the call was aborted. She turned to her Mother, “The bastard just cut me off! Can you imagine, Mother?”

Isabella Pratt snorted angrily, “Killian needs to be arrested. He had offended us and surely, we must take revenge.”

“Try getting some thugs and get him captured.” She added, gritting her teeth furiously. 

Cecilia  nodded her head in response, “Sure Mom! I will get it done. Kendrick must have his revenge on Killian.” She sneered.

In a luxurious mansion, people were gathered in one place. Worries were displayed on their faces. 

The Lord of the Gallagher Family was unconscious on the bed. The Gallagher Family had worries and fear on their faces. 

They were anxiously waiting for someone, they felt restless. 

One of the Gallagher family members spoke out in rage. “Where is she? When is she bringing the cure? We've been waiting for the past two hours and nothing is yet to be done.” 

“If anything happens to the Lord, I won't take it easy with her. I assure you!” He added, walking to and fro in the room. 

Everyone was worried as well. They looked at the Master of the Gallagher who had turned pale. 

While the room was tense, someone ran into the room and announced. 

“She is here! Paige Bellingham is here!” the person uttered.

The moment Paige Bellingham walked into the room, everyone stood up to her. 

One of them spewed out angrily, “What makes you come late? You want the Master of the Gallagher to die. If anything happens to him, you are going to face my wrath.”

“You are to be blamed for all that is going on with the Master! Your company produced a fake drug which caused the Master's sudden illness.”

“If anything happens to the Master, your companies will be liquidated and I'm going to make sure the Bellingham Family suffers!”

Hearing the angry words of the Gallagher Family members, Paige sighed frustratingly and looked visibly scared. 

They wouldn't have been talking to her like this if the Pharmaceutical companies hadn't made mistakes on the drug. 

For the sake of the company's reputation, she had to tolerate the insults. 

Paige voiced out, “Everyone, you need to be calm. I'm also trying my best to save the Lord of Gallagher.”

She continued to say, “Look here, I brought a doctor that could treat the Lord's illness.” She pointed at Killian, putting smiles on her face. 

Everyone's gaze turned to the direction she was pointing at. When they glanced at the person, they were disappointed because Killian was young and he wouldn't have had any experience in Medicine.

The first son of the Lord of Gallagher, Rooney, angrily shouted at her. “Paige, what do you mean he is the doctor?  Don't you see how young and inexperienced he is? I don't believe this, are you trying to get my father killed?” 

The other members supported him, “Yes, you are right! Is this how you are going to treat our Master? Don't be ridiculous, Paige. Could your Doctor know about what's wrong with the Master?” 

“I can see you are trying to kill the Master of the Gallagher Family. Look at how shabby your Doctor looks! Are you sure he isn't a quack Doctor?”

“I'm not sure he get passes through the school of Medicine and not to talk of calling him a doctor!” A young lady from the family muttered. 

Everyone bursted into laughter as they stared at him in disgust. They all looked at Killian as an inexperienced doctor and wouldn't be able to treat the Old Master of the Gallagher. 

Killian frowned slightly, they didn't know him and now, they are mocking him. He could see how arrogant they were. 

Still, he didn't bother to utter anything from his mouth. 

Rooney spoke directly at Paige, “As if we knew you are incompetent. We've called an experienced Doctor and he will be here anytime soon.”

At that moment, the Doctor walked into the room, and Rooney rushed towards him instantly, “Dr. Herald, Please save my father! You are our last hope!”

The Doctor known as Herald is ranked among the Top 20 doctors in the city. 

So everyone believes he is the right person to cure the Lord's illness. 

Smiling, he uttered. “You don't have to worry about anything! The Lord of Gallagher will wake up soon!”

Hearing that, the family members heaved a sigh of relief while Rooney turned to Paige Bellingham.

“By the time my father wakes up, the Bellingham's corporation is going to be ruined.”

“You are going to be punished severely, I will never go back on my words!” He added, his tone tinged with fury and wrath. 

Paige cowered in fear, and stuttered, “Mr. Gallagher, you don't have to do this; Let's settle this amicably. The Lord will be up on his feet very soon!” She implored,  “Why don't let Mr Killian gives it a try first?’’

Rooney flared angrily, “What nonsense are you sputtering out of your mouth? How can you suggest that I let your quack doctor treat my father? You really want my father dead, Paige!”

Paige was short of words. She didn't understand why they all disagreed to let Killian treat the Lord. 

Killian, on the other hand, didn't bother to meddle into their conversation. He walked closer to the bed and inspected the Lord of Gallagher. 

Due to his ability, he was able to identify the type of illness. 

“The Lord's illness is not ordinary, and it won't be easy to cure it.” He stated, and all attention turned to him. 

Rooney refuted. “What are you doing over there? You are nothing but a quack Doctor. You don't know anything about the illness, so move away!”

The Doctor walked closer to him, and smirked rudely, “What do you know, gentleman? Are you telling me you know what's wrong with the Lord? C'mon, you are just an ordinary doctor, and you wouldn't be able to know what is wrong with him.”

With that, the Doctor pushed him slightly away from the bed and inspected the old man. 

He turned to Rooney, and mumbled, “The Lord's sickness can't be cured completely but it has to be maintained through drugs!” 

Killian frowned deeply at the doctor, and disagreed, “That isn't true. The illness can be cured but it's not an easy task. It has a cure.”

Doctor Herald grabbed him on the collar, and refuted. “Gentleman, you have to keep shut. Do you want to teach me how I'm going to do my job?”

Killian was angry. He pushed the doctor, and reaffirmed. “I'm telling the truth. The Lord's illness can be cured. You just have to trust me!”y

Rooney snapped angrily, “Paige, where have you gotten this man? Can you see how he manhandles the doctor?”

“Please, Mr Herald! Can you continue with the treatment? I just want my father to be alive, he doesn't deserve to die now!”

Dr Herald nodded his head slightly, and started to inject the Lord. 

Killian was terrified and shouted at the doctor, “You are killing the old man! You can't cure him using this.” He turned to Rooney, “You need to stop him! He is killing the old man!” He muttered but no one believed him. 

Yet they shouted at him, “You are nothing compared to Dr Herald! Do you know who he is? He is one of the Top 20 doctors  in our city and you are claiming he doesn't know what he is doing!”

“You really need to be punished for slandering Dr Herald! This is an embarrassment to him!”

“If you utter any more words, you are going to be beaten to a pulp!” This time around it was Rooney. He flared at him contemptuously. 

Noticing how Gallagher's family had threatened him, Killian decided not to say anything again as he watched the doctor perform his duties. 

However, within some minutes, the Lord's face turned pale and his heart rate reduced sharply. 

“What's going on, Doctor? Why is the Lord's condition getting worse?" 

Killian was the first to notice it, and attracted the attention of others. 

Murmurs filled the room instantly, as they all looked panicked.
