“What a coincidence to meet you here. I wonder what those idiots would have done if I wasn't around,” Gilbert complained.

“They have always been like that actually. It's really not new to me.”

As Robinson closed the door, he hurried to stand in front of Noah, with his back slightly bent. “Is this true?”

Noah regarded him for a moment, with confusion written all over him before he turned to Gilbert. “Is what true?”

Gilbert laughed. “I told him the truth, Cedric.”

Robinson smiled. “It's my pleasure to be able to meet Cedric personally. I need to stay this close to you so I don't forget this in a year to come.”

Noah sighed, “Gilbert!”

Gilbert laughed again.

Actually, the two friends were having a discussion when they saw that there was trouble downstairs through the camera. Gilbert saw Noah first and so informed Robinson of who Noah really was.

“Robinson has been my close friend since forever. And he's a true fan of you, just that he has never seen you before.”

“Please, let me bow,” Robinson was saying and before Noah would stop him, he was already on the floor. “Your father saved my mother. The Robinson family will forever be grateful to the Alaric family.”

Noah felt moved. This was the legacy his father had started and he would continue it.

Robinson placed his head on the floor for a moment, before he looked up again. “I, and my family, are ready to serve the new Alaric boss in any way that you need us,” he swore.

Noah gently led him up. “The first way you can do that is by keeping shut about my real identity for now. “

“Thats the smallest thing I can do, Cedric.”

Noah smiled and patted his back slightly. He actually had loyalists everywhere. It wasn't as bad as he thought.

“And I will definitely reach out to you if I need your help.”

“Thank you so much!” Robinson expressed. He felt honoured that Cedric was even holding him.

“But why dId you send everyone out of the bank?”

Robinson smiled, “Cedric is around, why does he have to queue with others when if he wants, he can buy the whole bank? And even buy everyone in it. I just rented the whole space out for you.”

“Good one,” Gilbert commended.

Noah smiled as well. It was kind of surprising that the whole bank stopped working because of him. Robinson really held him in high regard.

“How much do you need to withdraw?”

“Just a million dollars. Put the rest on my account.”

Robinson nodded once. “I will be right back,” he assured and walked to the door but as he opened it, Philip was standing by the door with coffee in hands. “Will you get lost with your uselessness?”

“But you said coffee_”

“Get lost!” Robinson snapped, making Philip jump back in fear. He had no choice but to leave immediately.

No matter how he thought about it, he couldn't quite comprehend how Gilbert and Mr Robinson would favour Noah.

Noah turned to Gilbert after he left. “Why is he like that?”

“Well, Alaric is like an emperor around here. Alaric used to control a lot of things but now, Leonardo has taken over. It's very right for him to feel that way. Not everyone was even opportune to meet your father when he was alive. Meeting the next Alaric ruler is a great honour indeed.”

Robinson returned with a bag of money. “Cedric, here's your money. The others have been deposited into your account.”

“Thank you so much for this,” Noah said truthfully.

Robinson was all smiles. “This is the best I can do. But if you don't mind, can I treat you to some wine?” he looked up at him, his brows raised anxiously. “Please, it will be my honour to dine with Cedric.”

Noah nodded once. “That's fine. We can have that today. Communicate to Gilbert when you have a location.”

“Thank you so much!” He bowed several times, a wide smile on his face.

“Are you going somewhere? Do you need me to drive you?”

“I'm even coming over to your place because I need to get my stuff.”

“Oh excellent. If you are free in fact, we could stay at my side before Robinson calls.”

They both walked out of the office, with Robinson's head still bowed, the smile still on his face. What an honour. When he was sure they were out of the vicinity, he called the security to let the Bank continue his operation.

Gilbert soon pulled into the garage of his mansion and they both got inside.

“Where will you be staying if not here since we are yet to get across to Jennifer.”

“My grandfather-in-law wants me to come home. I will be staying with them for a while.”

Gilbert nodded once. “That's fine. He's a lucky man to have Cedric as an in-law.”

“I want to shower and change into something else.”

“Yes, do that while I get the maids to prepare some snacks for us.”

Noah took his time in the shower. He kept thinking about his time at the orphanage home, then struggling to send himself to school, only for him to still be unable to collect his school certificate. But maybe now, he wouldn't suffer like that again since he has the money but there were still hardships along the way. Being the Cedric would definitely not be easy.

Jay and everyone involved in the death of his parents will be dealt with.

While Noah and Gilbert had snacks, the maid washed Noah’s dirty clothes and packed his stuff in a nice luggage bag.

“Oh perfect, he has sent the venue,” Gilbert announced. “Its kind of far from here so we will leave earlier.”

They set out at around five and got there around six. Robinson was already around and waiting for them. The moment they stepped into the bar, Robinson waved at them from where he sat.

He was all smiles as if he just won a lottery. Well, dining with Cedric was far more than winning the lottery.

“Thank you for making it. I've made some orders and I'm sure you are going to love it.”

Gilbert laughed. “I trust you.”

He looked at Noah. “I have something for you, sir,” he muttered and pulled out a box, then he placed it on the table in front of Noah.

It was a phone!

Noah took it and unboxed it. It was the latest iPhone 17 version.

His eyes widened as he looked back at Robinson.

“The stupid boy broke your phone and I could only think of buying you a new one.”

“But he broke a smaller one.”

Robinson laughed. “I mean if Cedric wants, he could buy ten of these but I just wanted to do something for you no matter how small. Please don't reject it.”

Noah smiled, “Why would I? Thank you so much for this.”

The barmen moved closer with their orders at this point.

But as Noah placed the phone back on the table, through his peripheral vision, he saw a young beautiful woman walk inside. The lady was no other than Aria Giles.

Only three people in the city owned the VIP black Alpha card from Heritage Bank. The President, Leonardo, and Alaric heir. But who would have thought the son of Alaric would come to his restaurant that night? And an ordinary waiter couldn't even recognise the famous Alaric Cedric!“But sir, the card was declined. I swiped it and it didn't even recognise it,” the waiter explained.“This is why you need to be extra careful whenever you are at work. This isn't a regular card,” he continued, his voice dropping into something edged. “It's encrypted. You don't swipe it, you authenticate it.”Encrypted? What does that mean?Martin didn't answer immediately. Instead, he took the machine from him with controlled patience, like someone correcting a costly mistake. Then, he placed the card flat against the reader.A soft beep cut through the silence.Everyone froze.Martin's eyes flicked to the screen. For a moment, he just stared, then a smile spread across his face.“Payment of forty-five thou

“Yes, sure. His order is $45,000.”Richard's throat went dry. His lips parted, but no words came out first. He dragged a hand down his face forcing himself to breathe as every eye in the room turned towards him. “Who_who hasn't opened their wine yet?” he asked, his voice tight, almost cracking.“Everyone has!” Linda answered quickly, her tone laced with rising fear. “Every single bottle.”A ripple of unease spread across the table.Richard let out a hollow laugh, shaking his head. “That's insane. Where am I supposed to get that kind of money from? My budget was $100,000.”Noah leaned back slightly, a faint, almost amused smile playing on his lips. “Well, I tried to warn you,” he said calmly. “But you didn't listen.”Richard snapped his head towards him, irritation flashing. “Why don't you speak for yourself!” he shot back. “It's not as if you can afford your bill.”Noah's smile didn't fade, it sharpened. “Who said I can't?" Noah replied. “I am nothing like you.”“Oh please,.” Violet

Everyone stared, as if trying to find out if it was fake. Then, they relaxed.Noah pocketed his phone, with satisfaction. For a second, no one said anything. Then, Violet let out a soft laugh.“Wow, you've finally gotten it,” She feigned surprise, and her lips slightly curled into a fake smile. She tilted her head, eyes running over him slowly. “How many years later is that?”A few people chuckled.“Don't get me wrong,” she added lightly. “It's nice, really. Everyone deserved a second chance.”NoH stared at her. No matter what he did, they would always think low of him and find flimsy reasons to back it up. He was not surprised. They had always been like that.“She's right,” Richarded added suddenly, supporting Violet. “Let's not act like this is some big moment,” he said, glancing around the room. “A certificate is the minimum requirement, not exactly an achievement.”A couple of heads nodded, agreeing with him.Violet smiled with victory. “Exactly! We all have one,” She gestured laz

“But we can settle this_” Tiffany started.“In Court,” Noah completed. “For intentional destruction of property of this value.”“It's fair,” the man added quickly. “Perhaps you have something of value too, aside from your BMW car because it's just going to handle the side mirror.”Tiffany thought for a moment, her heart beat accelerated. Then, she remembered something. “Rose’s necklace. It's a Graff Diamond necklace and is worth three million dollars. It can sort it and we will still have some change remaining.”Rose hesitated as if thinking about it but slowly shook her head. “Please, not the necklace,” She begged softly. The man moved closer nonetheless. “Can I see the serial number?”Rose paused. “Serial number?”“Don't tell me you don't know what that is.”Rose took the necklace off and did a quick check. There was no serial number anywhere. She looked up at the man again, as tears welled up in her eyes. The man shook his head in pity and slowly backed off. “Can't work, that's a f

Everyone stared, shocked.Rose lowered her bat, breathing hard. She smiled like she had done something enormous. Then, she turned to Tiffany. “Come, join me.”“Ma'am!” The guard froze. “You need to stop!”Ignoring the guard, Tiffany removed one of her stilettos and smashed the side mirror with its pointed side.“That is,” Rose started, turning towards Noah. “_what being stubborn is.”Tiffany laughed. “Relax, we will pay for it.”“Yeah,” Rose added. “Don't start crying now. How much could it possibly be?”Noah smiled softly. “Do you know the value of the car? Let alone the windshield you have broken?”“Of course,” Rose rolled her eyes. “Maybe at most $30,000,” she said with disdain. “Isn't it just Mercedes? It's something I can afford, so don't fret. I will pay for it,” she uttered, tossed the bat aside, and moved to grab her purse. She pulled out a card from inside it and stretched it out. “There's a sum of $30,000 in the card. Use it. At exactly 7 o'clock, his phone beeped. It was a broadcast message, reminding him that it was time for the reunion party.Noah remembered and, in fact, was driving towards the venue. After Harrison had left, Noah did a little research on Daemon. Daemon was ruthless and currently ranked in the top 5 among the businessmen in Orangeville. He had a lot of resources alright and he also had Leonardo backing him to do whatever he so wished.Online, Daemon had some disputes with some CEOs and they ended up being pushed down. Some left the city while some merely stayed as if they were never there. That was what power could do to someone. So, Daemon was like Leonardo but in a different state. If it wasn't for the Il fuoco establishment, which Jay almost pulled down as well, Leonardo would have been the one controlling the whole of Casington too. Also, according to the details that Harrison provided, Daemon was the same age as him. He was too young to control so many mafia lords, too young to b
