Noah looked at her very well to be sure she was really the one. Indeed, she was.
But what was she doing at the bar?
Aria went to a corner and sat. Where she stayed, it was impossible to see Noah but Noah could see her clearly without any obstruction.
“This is really tasteful, Cedric. Have some,” Robinson pushed a glass of wine to him.
“I sincerely don't know the boss's alcohol tolerance.”
“Well,” Noah smiled and drank the wine at a go. “Very good actually.”
“Wow, he has high tolerance!” Robinson laughed as he poured himself a glass of alcohol too and drank it at a go. “Seems like I've met my competitor.”
Everyone laughed at this.
Noah turned to Aria again. She had her head on the table as the barman brought her orders. Noah signalled to the barman and beckoned him over.
“What did she order please?”
The barman glanced at Aria. “Whiskey on the rocks, sir.”
Noah nodded once. “How is the alcohol like?”
“Strong actually.”
Noah nodded again. “You can leave.”
The barman bowed slightly before he walked away.
The two men looked at Aria for a moment before they looked back at Noah.
“Boss, do you know her?”
Noah nodded once, “That's my girlfriend.”
“Wow,” Robinson laughed. “She's really a beauty.”
“I just don't know why she would come to the bar alone.”
“Oh, you can go to her. Don't leave her alone,” Robinson said quickly.
“No,” Noah insisted with a smile. “I will watch her from here. Let's continue to drink.”
“Alright alright. Let's toast then,” Robinson lifted his glass and waited for others to do the same. “For more things to do together in the future.”
And they cling.
“Boss, I've added my contact on your new phone so in case you are at the bank or you need my help in any way, please don't hesitate to call me, I'm at your beck and call.”
Noah nodded once and raised his glass. “For Robinson's loyalty.”
Everyone laughed.
Noah looked at Aria again, watching as she drank and demanded for more. She was going to get drunk at this point or was that what she wanted?
But why would she want to do that?
“I sincerely don't think you should leave her on her own like that.”
“Yes, I second that. We can always meet later if we want to drink,” Gilbert chimed in.
“In fact, I think I'm satisfied with this gesture and I think I'm drunk. I should go home,” Robinson laughed.
Gilbert joined in. “I thought you said you have a high tolerance like boss,” Gilbert challenged playfully.
“Of course! It's only because he's Cedric, that's why he's better than me!”
Gilbert and Noah burst into laughter.
Gilbert was the first to sober up and look at Noah. “I will take him home then.”
Noah nodded once. “Let me follow you to get my stuff from your car then.”
Noah got his luggage. The money he withdrew from the bank had been safely kept in the bag.
“Alright, let's see tomorrow morning then, I should have something on Jennifer by then.”
Noah nodded once and watched the car drive off before he turned around to enter the bar. However, he saw Aria being dragged away by two men.
He hurried closer, “What do you think you are doing? Let her go!”
The men stopped in their tracks and turned to look at him.
One of them laughed, “Or what? What are you going to do?”
t let her go while I'm still asking you nicely.”
“You know what I will say? Better learn to mind your business.”
And with that, they both turned around and started to drag Aria with them.
Noah tried to keep calm even though a hard knot of fury formed in his chest.
He dropped his luggage and hurried closer quickly, pulling one of the men away from Aria and punching him hard on the face. The man staggered backwards and went still.
The other men saw this and their eyes widened in shock as if they were going to come out of the sockets. “How dare you!”
Noah didn't wait and reached for Aria, pulling her forcefully so that the other man would move with her. He reached for his arm that was still holding Aria and slightly twisted it.
The man let out a cry of terror and dropped to the floor.
Noah looked at Aria, who was smiling sheepishly. “Aria!” He called in a deep voice.
Instead, Aria continued to smile like she was drugged. “My knight in shining armour.”
Noah shook his head slightly. “Why did you drink?”
No response. Just some inaudible sentences.
Noah sighed. “I'm taking you home.”
“Not so fast!” A voice yelled behind him, and anger etched the voice. “How dare you!”
He looked back at a group of thugs, with broken pipes and bats coming his way. He scoffed, before he gently helped Aria to the floor.
“Stay here. I will be right back.”
Turning to the men, he clenched his fists tightly beside him. “Why don't you pull back now,” Noah advised them. “Or this will be your worst decision ever!”
The men regarded themselves for a moment and burst into laughter.
“Shut this fool up forever!” someone yelled among them. He looks like their boss. “And get that pretty damsel for me. I must have her and I will have her tonight!” He declared dangerously.
The men attacked Noah all at once.
Noah dodged two attacks at once, by bending down. By doing so, he launched his blow into the stomach of three of the men. It was fast and the men didn't see it coming. Three of them were sent reeling backward and they had a hard time standing and when they eventually did, they found themselves falling right back to the floor again.
There were only three more remaining. Noah took two of them and forced them against each other by hitting their heads against each other.
They both screamed out in pain.
Noah looked at the last one, who was holding a bat. Seeing what had happened, he moved backwards but was still confused about what to do.
“Come_” Noah called, with a silly smile.
The man dropped the bat and took to his heels immediately.
“Why are you running! Come back here you motherfucker!” their boss yelled after him angrily. “And you lazy fools, get up!”
When he looked up again, Noah was suddenly standing so close to him.
Frightened, he jerked back. “Get lost or I’m_”
Noah punched his nose and he fainted instantly.
Then he turned to look at Aria but she was suddenly gone.

64: Shocking revelation 2
Only three people in the city owned the VIP black Alpha card from Heritage Bank. The President, Leonardo, and Alaric heir. But who would have thought the son of Alaric would come to his restaurant that night? And an ordinary waiter couldn't even recognise the famous Alaric Cedric!“But sir, the card was declined. I swiped it and it didn't even recognise it,” the waiter explained.“This is why you need to be extra careful whenever you are at work. This isn't a regular card,” he continued, his voice dropping into something edged. “It's encrypted. You don't swipe it, you authenticate it.”Encrypted? What does that mean?Martin didn't answer immediately. Instead, he took the machine from him with controlled patience, like someone correcting a costly mistake. Then, he placed the card flat against the reader.A soft beep cut through the silence.Everyone froze.Martin's eyes flicked to the screen. For a moment, he just stared, then a smile spread across his face.“Payment of forty-five thou

“Yes, sure. His order is $45,000.”Richard's throat went dry. His lips parted, but no words came out first. He dragged a hand down his face forcing himself to breathe as every eye in the room turned towards him. “Who_who hasn't opened their wine yet?” he asked, his voice tight, almost cracking.“Everyone has!” Linda answered quickly, her tone laced with rising fear. “Every single bottle.”A ripple of unease spread across the table.Richard let out a hollow laugh, shaking his head. “That's insane. Where am I supposed to get that kind of money from? My budget was $100,000.”Noah leaned back slightly, a faint, almost amused smile playing on his lips. “Well, I tried to warn you,” he said calmly. “But you didn't listen.”Richard snapped his head towards him, irritation flashing. “Why don't you speak for yourself!” he shot back. “It's not as if you can afford your bill.”Noah's smile didn't fade, it sharpened. “Who said I can't?" Noah replied. “I am nothing like you.”“Oh please,.” Violet

Everyone stared, as if trying to find out if it was fake. Then, they relaxed.Noah pocketed his phone, with satisfaction. For a second, no one said anything. Then, Violet let out a soft laugh.“Wow, you've finally gotten it,” She feigned surprise, and her lips slightly curled into a fake smile. She tilted her head, eyes running over him slowly. “How many years later is that?”A few people chuckled.“Don't get me wrong,” she added lightly. “It's nice, really. Everyone deserved a second chance.”NoH stared at her. No matter what he did, they would always think low of him and find flimsy reasons to back it up. He was not surprised. They had always been like that.“She's right,” Richarded added suddenly, supporting Violet. “Let's not act like this is some big moment,” he said, glancing around the room. “A certificate is the minimum requirement, not exactly an achievement.”A couple of heads nodded, agreeing with him.Violet smiled with victory. “Exactly! We all have one,” She gestured laz

“But we can settle this_” Tiffany started.“In Court,” Noah completed. “For intentional destruction of property of this value.”“It's fair,” the man added quickly. “Perhaps you have something of value too, aside from your BMW car because it's just going to handle the side mirror.”Tiffany thought for a moment, her heart beat accelerated. Then, she remembered something. “Rose’s necklace. It's a Graff Diamond necklace and is worth three million dollars. It can sort it and we will still have some change remaining.”Rose hesitated as if thinking about it but slowly shook her head. “Please, not the necklace,” She begged softly. The man moved closer nonetheless. “Can I see the serial number?”Rose paused. “Serial number?”“Don't tell me you don't know what that is.”Rose took the necklace off and did a quick check. There was no serial number anywhere. She looked up at the man again, as tears welled up in her eyes. The man shook his head in pity and slowly backed off. “Can't work, that's a f

Everyone stared, shocked.Rose lowered her bat, breathing hard. She smiled like she had done something enormous. Then, she turned to Tiffany. “Come, join me.”“Ma'am!” The guard froze. “You need to stop!”Ignoring the guard, Tiffany removed one of her stilettos and smashed the side mirror with its pointed side.“That is,” Rose started, turning towards Noah. “_what being stubborn is.”Tiffany laughed. “Relax, we will pay for it.”“Yeah,” Rose added. “Don't start crying now. How much could it possibly be?”Noah smiled softly. “Do you know the value of the car? Let alone the windshield you have broken?”“Of course,” Rose rolled her eyes. “Maybe at most $30,000,” she said with disdain. “Isn't it just Mercedes? It's something I can afford, so don't fret. I will pay for it,” she uttered, tossed the bat aside, and moved to grab her purse. She pulled out a card from inside it and stretched it out. “There's a sum of $30,000 in the card. Use it. At exactly 7 o'clock, his phone beeped. It was a broadcast message, reminding him that it was time for the reunion party.Noah remembered and, in fact, was driving towards the venue. After Harrison had left, Noah did a little research on Daemon. Daemon was ruthless and currently ranked in the top 5 among the businessmen in Orangeville. He had a lot of resources alright and he also had Leonardo backing him to do whatever he so wished.Online, Daemon had some disputes with some CEOs and they ended up being pushed down. Some left the city while some merely stayed as if they were never there. That was what power could do to someone. So, Daemon was like Leonardo but in a different state. If it wasn't for the Il fuoco establishment, which Jay almost pulled down as well, Leonardo would have been the one controlling the whole of Casington too. Also, according to the details that Harrison provided, Daemon was the same age as him. He was too young to control so many mafia lords, too young to b
