Mia, Aria’s mother, threw up in flames. “So, my daughter is dating a lowlife?”
“I am highly disappointed in you, Aria!” Adrian, her father chimed in. “I can't believe you would stoop so low. What about Donald?”
“Mum, I don't want to marry Donald,” Aria protested softly.
“What do you mean by that? Donald is the right one for you!”
Cynthia laughed. “Isn't your daughter old enough to make a decision about her marital status, Adrian?”
“Your daughter has made her choice,” Kyle said suddenly. “Which is why I am going to allow her to marry whom she wants to.” He looked at Noah. “Both of you should go to court and finalize your marriage.”
“What! With this lowlife!” Mia gasped. “How will she survive?”
“And she didn't know about that before dating him? She will marry him and he will start living here!” Kyle looked at Noah. “What's your name and where are your parents?”
Noah cleared his throat. “I am Noah Davies, an orphan.”
“What! He has nobody! I knew it!” Adam laughed.
“Father, please don't listen to my idiotic daughter. She doesn't know what's right,” Mia cut in quickly. “Please take back your order. She will marry Donald Carter,” she stated firmly.
“Aria, kneel down and beg your grandfather! And send this idiot you brought away!” Adrian yelled.
Adam scoffed. Kyle might dotes so much on Aria but he was not a soft man.
“Well, grandfather met your daughter with her so-called boyfriend doing lustful things. You can't blame grandfather for the decision,” Adam said quickly.
“Yes!” Cynthia chimed in. “Blame your daughter for sleeping around with men.”
“You won’t speak of my daughter like that, Cynthia!” Adrian snapped at her.
“Or what! It’s not like we lied against her!”
“You will all keep shut!” Kyle shut them up, then looked at Aria, disappointment vivid in his features. “Your boyfriend dared to bring a fake wine to me? I am very disappointed in you. For this reason, you will step down as the CEO of the Odyssey Group.”
What!
Adam smiled secretly. This was what he wanted anyway.
Mia dropped to the floor in panic. “Please father, don't do this to her. Please, give her a second chance.”
“What second chance?” Adam interrupted. “Grandfather knows what he was doing when he said Aria should marry Donald Carter. We all know the Carter family business is ranked top ten in Casington. Without them, we won't be able to get the partnership with Lussotech.”
“Yes, Lussotech is currently ranked number two, and not just anyone can partner with them. Only the Carter family can help us out now,” Cynthia sided with him.
“And that's why you need to marry Donald Carter. You can only marry him!” Mia added, her eyes pleading.
Noah went still for a moment. Lussotech? Wasn't that Jennifer's company? If Aria wanted a partnership, he could easily arrange that after meeting with her later that day.
Besides, Jennifer was his bodyguard. She would do anything he wanted.
“The Carter family is acquainted with the LussoTech. They are our only way in. Please grandfather, take back your order!” Mia beseeched even further.
“But mum_”
“Shut it!” Mia yelled in anger. “You will marry Donald and that's final!”
“If she can secure a partnership with the LussoTech company,” Noah started suddenly. “_will she still be allowed to remain as the CEO?” he asked.
“What is this idiot rumbling about?”
“You wanted the partnership with the LussoTech which was why you wanted Aria to marry against her wish. If she can secure the partnership, will you let her be?”
“And who placed you in the position to talk in this family?” Mia yelled in annoyance.
“We are yet to accept you!” Adrian supported her. “We are never going to accept you!” He corrected quickly.
Aria looked at Noah. “I know you are trying to help but this is not something I can do. So, step back.”
“But I’m not joking. We can truly secure a partnership.”
Adam laughed. “See you talking as if you have someone in Lussotech. Lussotech is a big deal and not something a lowlife like you can put your mouth on.”
Noah chuckled. “What if I tell you I truly have someone in Lussotech? And they are going to help Aria secure a partnership.”
Cynthia burst into laughter. “Adrian, your son-in-law isn't only poor, he's also mentally unstable.”
“How can a waiter at Olive and Vine have someone at LussoTech? Perhaps he knows one of the security,” Adam laughed harder.
Noah shook his head at their ignorance. If only they knew the person in front of them was Cedric, they would have been grovelling at his feet.
No, they would have been begging him to marry Aria
“See the person you brought, Aria!” Mia yelled further. “See him talking like LussoTech is a sort of play! Is this who you really plan to marry?”
Aria sighed, accepting defeat instantly. “Mum, Dad, grandpa, I'm truly sorry. I will accept your punishment but take Noah out of it. He was only trying to help.”
Looks like Adam won because there was no way she was going to marry Donald to keep her position.
“Why? We are not accepting that,” Noah said quickly. “We can do this,” he repeated firmly.
Aria cupped her face for a moment before she looked at him again. “Will you shut it, Noah. Don't complicate matters any more.”
Noah smiled. “Well, I'm not doing that,” he muttered, then turned to Kyle. “We will not only secure a partnership with Lussotech, but we will also be among the top five to always receive orders.”
“Insolent!”
“Absurd! That's not even possible!”
“Well, then so shall it be!” Kyle said suddenly, shutting them all again. “If you can secure the partnership and elevate the family company, then you will be free to keep your position. If not, you will not only be losing your job but you will be disowned by the Giles family.”
“What! Father!” Adrian gasped.
However, Kyle stood up and walked out without another word.
Adrian hurried after him. “Please father, don't do that!”
Mia shook her head briefly. “I'm disappointed in you, Aria,” and with that, she went after Kyle as well.
Aria closed her eyes, as she felt different emotions build up inside her. Everything has finally fallen apart because of the man she hired to pretend to be her boyfriend.
Maybe that was a mistake she would dearly pay for. Maybe she should have agreed to marry Donald.
“Oh little cousin,” Adam teased. “You've lost!” He and Cynthia burst into laughter before they both walked out.
Aria turned to Noah. “What was that all about? I told you to stop talking! Now you've complicated matters!”
“But everything is still good because we can still do it. We can get a partnership.”
Noah didn't want to tell her about him knowing Jennifer so closely since he was currently undercover but that still won't stop him from helping her out.
“Actually, I have someone_”
“This is a contract relationship!” Aria yelled, cutting him off from the words he was about to say. “You should act your part and stay out of my business unless I ask you to! You don't complicate matters for me! Leave! I will message you if there's a need to be!”
Noah was shocked. And he was just trying to help. Was that a bad thing?

64: Shocking revelation 2
Only three people in the city owned the VIP black Alpha card from Heritage Bank. The President, Leonardo, and Alaric heir. But who would have thought the son of Alaric would come to his restaurant that night? And an ordinary waiter couldn't even recognise the famous Alaric Cedric!“But sir, the card was declined. I swiped it and it didn't even recognise it,” the waiter explained.“This is why you need to be extra careful whenever you are at work. This isn't a regular card,” he continued, his voice dropping into something edged. “It's encrypted. You don't swipe it, you authenticate it.”Encrypted? What does that mean?Martin didn't answer immediately. Instead, he took the machine from him with controlled patience, like someone correcting a costly mistake. Then, he placed the card flat against the reader.A soft beep cut through the silence.Everyone froze.Martin's eyes flicked to the screen. For a moment, he just stared, then a smile spread across his face.“Payment of forty-five thou

“Yes, sure. His order is $45,000.”Richard's throat went dry. His lips parted, but no words came out first. He dragged a hand down his face forcing himself to breathe as every eye in the room turned towards him. “Who_who hasn't opened their wine yet?” he asked, his voice tight, almost cracking.“Everyone has!” Linda answered quickly, her tone laced with rising fear. “Every single bottle.”A ripple of unease spread across the table.Richard let out a hollow laugh, shaking his head. “That's insane. Where am I supposed to get that kind of money from? My budget was $100,000.”Noah leaned back slightly, a faint, almost amused smile playing on his lips. “Well, I tried to warn you,” he said calmly. “But you didn't listen.”Richard snapped his head towards him, irritation flashing. “Why don't you speak for yourself!” he shot back. “It's not as if you can afford your bill.”Noah's smile didn't fade, it sharpened. “Who said I can't?" Noah replied. “I am nothing like you.”“Oh please,.” Violet

Everyone stared, as if trying to find out if it was fake. Then, they relaxed.Noah pocketed his phone, with satisfaction. For a second, no one said anything. Then, Violet let out a soft laugh.“Wow, you've finally gotten it,” She feigned surprise, and her lips slightly curled into a fake smile. She tilted her head, eyes running over him slowly. “How many years later is that?”A few people chuckled.“Don't get me wrong,” she added lightly. “It's nice, really. Everyone deserved a second chance.”NoH stared at her. No matter what he did, they would always think low of him and find flimsy reasons to back it up. He was not surprised. They had always been like that.“She's right,” Richarded added suddenly, supporting Violet. “Let's not act like this is some big moment,” he said, glancing around the room. “A certificate is the minimum requirement, not exactly an achievement.”A couple of heads nodded, agreeing with him.Violet smiled with victory. “Exactly! We all have one,” She gestured laz

“But we can settle this_” Tiffany started.“In Court,” Noah completed. “For intentional destruction of property of this value.”“It's fair,” the man added quickly. “Perhaps you have something of value too, aside from your BMW car because it's just going to handle the side mirror.”Tiffany thought for a moment, her heart beat accelerated. Then, she remembered something. “Rose’s necklace. It's a Graff Diamond necklace and is worth three million dollars. It can sort it and we will still have some change remaining.”Rose hesitated as if thinking about it but slowly shook her head. “Please, not the necklace,” She begged softly. The man moved closer nonetheless. “Can I see the serial number?”Rose paused. “Serial number?”“Don't tell me you don't know what that is.”Rose took the necklace off and did a quick check. There was no serial number anywhere. She looked up at the man again, as tears welled up in her eyes. The man shook his head in pity and slowly backed off. “Can't work, that's a f

Everyone stared, shocked.Rose lowered her bat, breathing hard. She smiled like she had done something enormous. Then, she turned to Tiffany. “Come, join me.”“Ma'am!” The guard froze. “You need to stop!”Ignoring the guard, Tiffany removed one of her stilettos and smashed the side mirror with its pointed side.“That is,” Rose started, turning towards Noah. “_what being stubborn is.”Tiffany laughed. “Relax, we will pay for it.”“Yeah,” Rose added. “Don't start crying now. How much could it possibly be?”Noah smiled softly. “Do you know the value of the car? Let alone the windshield you have broken?”“Of course,” Rose rolled her eyes. “Maybe at most $30,000,” she said with disdain. “Isn't it just Mercedes? It's something I can afford, so don't fret. I will pay for it,” she uttered, tossed the bat aside, and moved to grab her purse. She pulled out a card from inside it and stretched it out. “There's a sum of $30,000 in the card. Use it. At exactly 7 o'clock, his phone beeped. It was a broadcast message, reminding him that it was time for the reunion party.Noah remembered and, in fact, was driving towards the venue. After Harrison had left, Noah did a little research on Daemon. Daemon was ruthless and currently ranked in the top 5 among the businessmen in Orangeville. He had a lot of resources alright and he also had Leonardo backing him to do whatever he so wished.Online, Daemon had some disputes with some CEOs and they ended up being pushed down. Some left the city while some merely stayed as if they were never there. That was what power could do to someone. So, Daemon was like Leonardo but in a different state. If it wasn't for the Il fuoco establishment, which Jay almost pulled down as well, Leonardo would have been the one controlling the whole of Casington too. Also, according to the details that Harrison provided, Daemon was the same age as him. He was too young to control so many mafia lords, too young to b
