He stopped his bike at its usual spot and then

merged into the crowd of students who were pouring into the hallway.

School seemed normal, but the kids weren't. Some were exhibiting different kinds of powers like superheroes while a few walked around like zombies. The hallway was noisier than

November lowered his head down because he didn't want anyone to know he was infected. All he had to do was to act surprised like every other non-infected teen.

"Watch out!" Someone yelled when he accidentally bumped into him and the boy detached his arm from his body and threw it at November. But November's quirk made him dodge and the arm went colliding with another person's jaw.

"Who hit me?" Yelled the boy who got a smack on his jaw. His face was seething in red as he turned around, surveying the face of everyone.

But there was no response.

The hand on the floor floated up and connected its owner's body.

"I did. Watcha gonna do, pudding face?" He challenged, folding his arms across his chest as he smirked.

The boy who got hit used his quirk to grow two more pairs of long arms and a fight immediately started.

November hurriedly walked ahead of the scene gathered with a little crowd of students who were filming the two powerful boys' fight.

He released a puff of breath to slow down his heart which was racing from the mere thought of getting caught that he had powers like the rest.

Whirling his head away from the crowd of students, he opened his locker to take out the books he'd be needing for the first three periods.

But then he decided not to use his hand but his quirk.

First of all, he looked around to see if anyone had their eyes on him, but they didn't. They were too busy changing skin colors, walking in the air, or creating invisible walls.

With his eyes, he singled out his AP Chemistry, Physics, and Math note. His quirk made the books arrange themselves orderly before settling on his palm.

Biting the insides of his cheeks, he slammed his locker shut and then flinched when he saw an unfamiliar face frowning at him.

It was a boy who was as tall as he was, with his long brown hair packed up in a ponytail. His eyes held distaste in them as he folded his arms across his chest.

November's heart jumped in his chest from the fear of getting caught. He didn't want anyone to know he too had powers.

"I'm Sebastian Alejandro, the New transferred student from Tuscan Three Hill." The boy did this introduction in a dull spiritless tone.

Did November mention he had a thick Spanish accent? Girls were already swooning and letting out squeals because Sebastian was handsome with a fit body.

Intimidating, undercover magazine looks that could make guys question their sexuality.

November blinked and then gulped because he was uncomfortable with the boy's gaze on him.

Did he see him take out his books with his quirk or not? He wanted to hide this away from everyone.

"Today's my first day at Winona's High and you seem different from the rest arseholes who think they're superheroes because of the aliens' virus. I'll take it that you're quirkless." Sebastian took a step closer to November who immediately backed himself against his locker. "I arrived yesterday and thankfully I was at a safe spot when the aliens attacked."

Sebastian looked really intimidating with a distinct Spanish accent, November could see a few girls fanning themselves with their fingers. Someone blew a puff of breath in his direction and it made his hair messy.

But Sebastian didn't snap his head around to ask who used their quirk on him. His attention was focused on November alone like he was on a mission or something.

That was far from the point right now, did Sebastian see what he did with his books? Was that why he chose to come close?

"What should I call you?" Sebastian put a toothpick into his mouth.

"November," he responded, then clear his throat because my voice wasn't as audible as he had intended to let it out. "November Calhoun." He supplied, tightening his hand around his books.

"Who bears the name November?" Sebastian asked with a scoff as he slid his toothpick to the corner of his mouth.

"Chase is glaring at you." A feminine voice chipped in and November snapped his head around to see Stacey Brightside staring at him through her big-rimmed glasses, with her books pressed to her chest.

His eyes dilated in their sockets because this was the first time she was talking to him at school.

"Don't look back." She mouthed at him but it was too late. He was already looking at his bully, his tormentor, Chase Adams who had his back pressed against a wall as he glared daggers at November.

Relief flooded through November because he hadn't thought about Chase until now. He was glad Chase was alive. He was too occupied worrying about having a quirk than thinking about Chase and Ivar getting consumed by the ground the previous night.

On Chase's side was Ivar Jonas who came second in making November's life hell at school. He always forced November into doing his assignments so he wouldn't have to slam him against my locker continually.

They looked weird. Like they got possessed by demons and not aliens. Chase had dark circles around his eyes and his pupils were filled with fire.

And November needed no seer to tell him Chase had fire quirks because it was evident.

Ivar on the other hand seemed to have some sort of electrifying quirk because the light bulbs on his side were fluctuating and sparking.

November looked away from them and shifted his gaze back to the girl and boy in front of him.

"Why are you talking to me at school? You should keep a five feet distance at all times." He directed this statement to Macey. He could remember how she rotated her head like a robot earlier this morning. What else could the girl do?

"I know, I know. We need to talk." Macey whispered, recoiling and stepping backward to maintain a five feet distance as always. November didn't care about his bullies, he just wondered why Macey talked to him.

Well, you have superpowers now. You can teach these bullies a lesson. Said his subconscious and he almost rolled his eyes in their sockets. Chase and Ivar had fire and electrifying powers, while he could only float, and what? Yeah, save babies from getting knocked over by trucks. No doubt they'd beat the shit out of him, as always.

Macey wrote something into her sketchbook and then thinned her lips before holding it up.

'I know you're trying to hide something'

November's mouth parted in horror as he read through this.

'Let's meet up at my house by 5' with this, she scurried away with her heavy backpack. Leaving November in the confusing state of being perplexed.

He was trying to hide that he had a quirk and his neighbor, Macey Brightside knew?

Balderdash!

"I'm still here, October." Sebastian averted the boy's attention back to him by flicking his fingers in his face.

And did he just call him October?

"It's November." He pointed out.

"Very well then, December. Can you show me around?" Sebastian had a taunting expression on, and the corners of his mouth twisted into a smug-smirk with the toothpick in it.

November threw a swift glance in Chase's direction and stiffened when he saw that Chase was still looking at him, with his stormy eyes darkened in something that resembled jealousy.

Was he seeing things?

Chase looked away from November when his girlfriend hugged him from behind.

"Dude, I don't think you'd want to hang out with someone you don't already like. I'm sure there are normal kids you can befriend. Kids without superpowers. You're new and I'll take it that you don't want to get bullied or something, so just avoid me. Hm?" November concluded breathlessly while the look on Sebastian's face didn't change.

Something didn't seem right with the boy.

"M****a." He swore in Spanish, then took a step forward and patted November's shoulder.

"Superpowers or not, those bullies will know better than messing with me." He took his hand off November's shoulder, holding on to one strap of his backpack, as he started to walk away.

"See you around, September." Sebastian winked at November, then lost his balance when he stepped into a stretched-out foot.

Typical Chase to do this. He intended to humiliate Sebastian on his first day at school.

With his eyes, November held Sebastian still before he could collide with the floor. Then he made Sebastian maintain his balance.

"Woah!"

"Did you see that?"

"Is this his quirk?"

Several students couldn't hide their astonishment although it wasn't that much of a big deal since other teens had their own quirks. But because Sebastian was too good-looking for his own good, it made them burst into murmurs.

Even Sebastian blinked in confusion, wondering what just happened because he knew he was doomed for a fall.

And Chase let out muted curse words, hating the fact that his plan didn't go on smoothly. He let out a ball of fire from his hand to impress everyone, but the hallway noise immediately mellowed down when Principal Ambers walked in with roughly fifteen tough-looking men.

"Kids, There is no easy way to say this, but…

I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news…I’m sorry to have to tell you that Indiana scientists want to take full custody of kids with the virus."

"What?" Everyone chorus in bewilderment.

"You are threats to the citizens. And it's not superpowers you have but viruses that would be harmful to every other normal human.." he paused to maintain eye contact with the seemingly disappointed and upset students. "Take them," he ordered the men behind him.

Some superpower kids tried to escape, but these men used an arsenal of weapons to capture them.

Few succeeded in escaping although. Macey, Chase, and Ivar were out of sight.

Sebastian had his arms folded across his chest as he was tested. Luckily he was negative, not having any quirk of any sort.

November had his heart in his throat as he watched the scene unfold in front of him. He was doing his best to stay calm and feigned he didn't have any quirk.

"Line up kids!" The beefy-looking commander

barked this order.

One by one, they were tested with a device to detect if they had quirks. Ten kids were caught and when it got to a trembling November's turn, the device read negative.

Although he was grateful that he wasn't caught as he was ushered to his class by a military man, he sort of pondered if his quirk had left him for good.

Something which had been absent for days."Do you think it's necessary for me to come, I mean I'm not powerful like you two?" Captain raised his hands as he looked from November to Ivar and Ivar to November. He just didn't think he was capable of going to fight and rescues Chase. Macey couldn't even hide the fact that she didn't settle well with this. She knew November was leaving but she didn't expect it to be next week. His announcement came off unexpected."We have no choice, there's too much baggage in this town already," November puffed out a low breath because there was no way he could say it in way it wouldn't upset them. He could see the dissappointment on their faces. It was clear they didn't want him to go, considering the incoming battle with Cyflac Pharmaceuticals.
