Patrick Dunn was too stunned to speak.

Everyone behind him was equally stunned into silence.

Everyone except Veronica, whose eyes were practically lighting up with quiet joy.

The revival of their family was just around the corner.

Meanwhile, Michael Han, who had been slapped clean to the floor, instantly picked himself up. His face was carefully blank, carrying only a slight flush of shame as he looked at Trevor, doing his best to conceal the anger and embarrassment burning beneath the surface as he snorted.

"I was planning on going easy on you and didn't even use my martial arts properly. But since you have proven yourself to be somewhat capable, let me see how you handle my next punch!"

Hearing those words, Trevor couldn't help but sneer. "You? Deal with me? You don't even have any inner energy left. My guess is you spent it on a woman last night or something equally as useless. And from your posture and overall stance alone I can already tell your martial arts techniques are low to medium grade at best."

"I advise you to be a good dog and get lost."

Trevor finished his words without so much as blinking.

Hearing them, Michael Han was shaken to his core.

How did Trevor know he had spent the previous night with a woman and was currently weakened from a night of pleasure?

But of course, Michael Han — who had carefully maintained the public image of a man completely devoted to martial arts with no interest in any woman except Veronica — could not possibly accept such words being thrown at him openly. He immediately fired back.

"What are you talking about?! Stop spreading nonsense. Even if you are trying to win Veronica's heart, that is hardly a respectable way to go about it."

Trevor sneered upon hearing those words as if it was the funniest joke he had heard all evening.

"Respectable?" Trevor muttered with a slow smirk tugging at the corner of his lip. "Tell me something, Michael Han. Aren't you currently suffering from pubic lice? It must be quite the ordeal standing here in front of everyone while desperately fighting the urge to scratch, isn't it?"

The moment those words landed, the entire audience erupted into stunned uproar as if they had just been made privy to something they were never supposed to hear.

Everyone who had been standing anywhere near Michael Han subconsciously took several large steps backward.

Even Veronica Winchester stared at Michael with wide eyes and barely concealed disgust. After all, they were not enemies — merely the sons and daughters of competing families all striving to push their respective households higher. She had shaken his hand on more than one occasion.

On top of that, Michael Han had always been known as a handsome martial arts prodigy who never associated himself with women or went anywhere near clubs.

But now, with that carefully constructed mask stripped away and his true face exposed before everyone present, all Veronica felt when she looked at him was pure disgust.

"You!" Michael's face turned a deep shade of red as if his blood vessels were on the verge of bursting. "How dare you spread filthy lies about me?! Are you truly that eager to die?!"

"Lies?" Trevor tilted his head slightly with a faint smile still sitting on his lips.

"Why don't you let those standing nearest to you smell your hand? And do you really think the signs aren't visible on your face? Look at your lips — there are small but noticeable sores forming at the corners. Those are consistent with contact with infected areas. And from what I can observe, your throat is likely feeling sore and irritated right about now, just like another place I won't mention in polite company. And the reason you haven't visited a hospital yet is because you are too ashamed to let anyone find out."

"You—!" Michael Han was visibly shaken. How had Trevor read every single detail of his condition with nothing more than a careful look at his face?

"Yes, you there, Trevor!" Patrick Dunn couldn't help but cut in, doing his best to appear reasonable and fair minded. "Don't go making up stories just to impress Miss Veronica. Sacrificing a smaller enemy to provoke a larger one is never a trade worth making!"

Hearing his words, everyone quickly snapped back to their senses.

Right. That was a fair point actually.

It was understandable that Trevor had picked up one or two fighting techniques during his time in prison — survival in there demanded nothing less. But medical knowledge? The ability to diagnose a man's private condition from a glance at his face?

That was clearly an act of desperation. He was obviously making things up.

Although doubt spread quickly through the crowd, Veronica on the other hand was staring at Trevor with eyes that practically screamed one thing.

We have a family treasure on our hands.

For Trevor to have effortlessly identified Michael's condition from a single focused glance meant he was already practicing a skill tied to the eyes — and a high level one at that. Physiognomy at that degree of precision was not something picked up casually. It took years of dedicated refinement under serious guidance.

Her grandfather had truly outdone himself this time.

"Like I care whether any of you believe my words or not." Trevor said with a calm shrug, already turning his attention elsewhere.

---The name hit Andrew like a bucket of ice water tipped directly over his skull. His face drained of colour so completely and so instantly that it was almost impressive. It's over. Those were the only two words his brain could produce."I — I did not recognise you, Miss Dukester! Please, I beg you to forgive this ignorant fool! A person of your standing surely would not lower yourself to bother with someone as insignificant as me!"He was on his knees before he had consciously decided to kneel, his forehead moving toward the floor with genuine urgency. And with good reason.Elizabeth Dukester was not simply a prominent name in Light City. She was a legend in every circle that mattered. The number of genuinely dangerous individuals who had met their end at her hands was not a small figure. Anyone with real knowledge of the city's power structure knew better than to position themselves as her problem.Elizabeth looked down at him without any particular expression."Stop talking. If yo

---A second punch to the abdomen followed immediately after. Two hits in quick succession and Andrew could not even form words anymore. He was curled on the floor making sounds that did not resemble language.Diana stared at her brother from the side in stunned silence. She had not expected this at all. The brother who had left for prison was impulsive and reactive, someone who acted on emotion and paid for it. The brother who had come back moved with a quiet, settled ruthlessness that she did not recognise. He said something and then he simply did it, with no hesitation and no visible anger behind his eyes.It frightened her a little. And at the same time she could not look away.Trevor crouched down to Andrew's level and looked at him evenly."Diana came to you asking for money that was rightfully hers to access. And instead of helping her you had her beaten. That was you, wasn't it?"Andrew was in considerable pain but his pride would not let him stay quiet."So what if it was?"T

  • Chapter 14: Debts Are Paid One Way or Another

---Trevor unceremoniously produced the prescription and laid it out plainly."The Blood Jade Grass, Bone Renewal Vine, and Snow Mountain Lotus listed here must all be at minimum a hundred years old. There are also tiger leg bones required, and they must come from a fully grown adult male tiger, not a cub and not a female."Manuel Jokester's heart sank the moment those words landed.Every single ingredient on that list was considered extraordinarily precious within traditional medicine circles. If someone were to go out and source all of them together at the quality being demanded, the combined cost would run to no less than one million Federation Dollars at the very minimum. This was clearly the young man's way of making him pay for what had happened today. But as much as it hurt him deeply in the chest, he had no real choice but to agree. The alternative was facing the wrath of the woman standing behind him, and that particular outcome would cost him significantly more than one mill

  • Chapter 13: The Slap That Replaced a Thousand Explanations

---It was a matter of human life, so Trevor immediately moved to assess the condition of the beautiful woman without wasting another second. After a brief but focused examination, he reached forward and carefully untied the collar of her clothing.Resetting a dislocated cervical spine was not something that could be rushed. The neck had to be completely free of any constriction during the process, otherwise the reduction could be compromised and what was already a dangerous situation could very quickly become fatal. The beautiful woman had an excellent figure, something even Trevor's focused eyes could not entirely ignore, but he was not in any mood to dwell on it.With her collar loosened and the area fully accessible, he fixed his gaze on the dislocated cervical vertebrae and in one swift and deliberate movement reached out and pulled the misplaced needle clean out.A precise pinch. A careful push. The cervical spine returned to its original position. The moment the compression was

---"Your mouth is still as sharp as ever," Trevor shook his head in disbelief before letting out a quiet chuckle. "Please, show me your legs. Trust your brother on this."Hearing his words, Diana was silent for several seconds. After some visible internal struggle, she slowly lifted her skirt away from her legs.Due to being paralyzed for over two years, her legs had not moved in so long that they had thinned out considerably. Her knees carried several bruises, most likely from dragging herself around the room over the years, and the joints themselves showed a noticeable degree of displacement — bones sitting slightly out of their proper positions, likely from the original dislocation that had never been properly treated.Seeing this, despite having mentally prepared himself and fully expecting it to be a manageable situation, Trevor was still left momentarily stunned and quietly burning with a rage he forced himself to keep contained. He had never once imagined that his sister had b

  • Chapter 11: The Brother Who Came Back Different

---With those words, Trevor calmly turned around with the full intention of leaving. After all, his goal of injuring Andrew for life and turning Frederick Dunn into a eunuch had already been accomplished. There was no need to waste any more of his time exchanging words with a brainless second generation heir."Hold on! Who gave you permission to leave?!"How could Patrick Dunn simply allow the person who had allegedly just ended his family's lineage to walk away freely? Not even Veronica Winchester's presence would stop him from trying. With a sharp wave of his hand, the bodyguards who had already been on standby watching the situation unfold immediately rushed straight at Trevor from all directions."Scram!"In an instant, Trevor uttered that single word with his voice infused with Qi.To everyone within a certain radius around him, including Veronica, it felt like a thunderclap detonating directly inside their skulls.
