Chapter Seven
Ben's father, assuming the role of an inquisitive observer, inquired, "So when is the marriage?" As Salvador entered the room, he noticed Ben seated next to Sandra, who wore an expression of anger and frustration. Sandra, refusing to entertain the idea of marrying another person while still being bound in matrimony to her current husband, retorted, "I can't possibly enter into a marriage with someone else." At that moment, Salvador cleared his throat, revealing his presence, and drawing attention to his unexpected presence in the room. "Thank goodness you're here," Mr. Jackson exclaimed, his voice filled with mixed emotions of surprise and relief. "Are you supposed to be at this party? You should be at home assisting the maids. However, now that you're here, I have something important to discuss with you." He handed Salvador a divorce paper, stating firmly, "I'm sure overheard about Ben and Sandra planning to get married next month. But she can't go through with it while still being married to you." Salvador, bewildered by the sudden turn of events, turned his attention to Sandra and asked, "Sandra, what's going on here?" Yet, Sandra chose to disregard his question, remaining silent and ignoring his presence in the room. "You should sign the divorce paper and get out of my sight. I was actually contemplating throwing you out of my house tonight," Mr. Jackson uttered with evident anger in his voice, his eyes piercing into Salvador's. Salvador's gaze shifted to Sandra, his expression filled with a mix of curiosity and disappointment. "Is this what you want too?" he asked, hoping for some semblance of an explanation. Sandra, without hesitation, replied, her voice betraying a hint of urgency, "You should do as they say and sign the divorce paper." She then turned to face Ben, seemingly avoiding eye contact with Salvador. Feeling the weight of the situation, Salvador couldn't help but express his inner turmoil. "I thought we were friends," he said, his voice tinged with a touch of sadness. Ben, in response, let out a light chuckle, perhaps hinting at an unexpected twist in their connection. "You thought? We were never friends. It was you who saw me as your friend," Ben retorted, his words laced with a hint of coldness. As the turmoil in the room reached its peak, Salvador's voice pierced through the tense silence. "They're getting married next month, right? Well, I'm not signing the divorce papers now," he declared defiantly. "I'll sign them next month. I just want to show you all that something good can come out of me before I put my signature on that paper." With those words hanging heavily in the air, Salvador stormed out of the room, his anger evident, leaving those remaining behind to contemplate the fractured relationships before them. Salvador's mind involuntarily skipped back in time to the day they had first met, vivid memories resurfacing and clouding his thoughts. He had believed she'd said yes to his proposal because she loved him, because she saw something in him beyond material possessions. He now faced the painful realization that she had married him simply to escape the clutches of her father, who wanted to marry her off to an old man she did not love. The weight of his shattered dreams settled heavily upon Salvador's shoulders. He had entered into this union with love, believing it to be built on a foundation of shared dreams and desires. The revelation that his financial status played a crucial role in Sandra's decision rendered him speechless, his heart aching with the weight of betrayal. Walking out of the hotel, Salvador found himself lost in thought, oblivious to the persistent honking of a car parked beside him. His mind was consumed by the recent confrontation and the weight of the crumbling marriage. Within this mental haze, he was gently tapped on the shoulder by Alexa, pulling him back to the present moment. With a forced smile, Salvador nodded in response to her question. Alexa, sensing his troubled state, probed further. "You don't look okay to me. I've been waiting for your call, but you didn't even contact me. What happened?" Her genuine concern was evident in her voice, attempting to unravel the mystery behind Salvador's inward turmoil. "There's no problem," Salvador replied firmly, his tone masking his internal struggles. Alexa's eyes lit up as she shared her news. "I have told my boss about you, and he would like to meet you. I came to this party because of you, and I am so glad I found you." Curiosity mingled with confusion as Alexa tried to make sense of the situation. "Your boss wants to see me? But why?" she asked, genuine surprise coloring her words. "I don't know all the details," Alexa confessed. "I took some pictures of you without your knowledge, and my boss happened to see them. He's the chairman, and he would like to meet you." "You mean right now?" Salvador inquired, seeking clarification and perhaps hoping for a moment to collect his thoughts. "Yeah, it'll be nice if you can go right now," Alexa responded eagerly, the excitement evident in her voice. Salvador's mind raced with conflicting emotions, but he reasoned that meeting Alexa's boss, the chairman, couldn't possibly bring more distress than his crumbling marriage with Sandra and her disapproving family. After a moment of contemplation, Salvador made up his mind. "Let's go," he declared, accepting the invitation to meet the chairman. Alexa didn't waste any time as she to her car with Salvador following her. She entered her car and Salvador followed suit, she drove him to her boss place, it was a really big mansion with lots of security. They were asked to enter. "Please follow me" she says, they walked to the living room, Alexa open the door and Salvador walked in. "I am in," Alexa says decisively, her determination evident as they walked into the room. As they stepped further inside, a middle-aged man emerged from another room, his eyes red and brimming with tears. He approached Salvador with a mix of remorse and familiarity, uttering words that left Salvador perplexed. "I knew it, I knew it's you. I'm sorry, my son. I am sorry, Salvador." Salvador's mind swirled with confusion as he questioned the man's words. How did he know his name? And what could he possibly be apologizing for? The situation only deepened the mystery, leaving Salvador lost in a labyrinth of unanswered questions.

Chapter 5“And what the hell are you discussing with her?” Sandra exclaimed, her finger pointed accusingly at Alexa as soon as he approached her. Alexa sighed and disdainfully rolled her eyes before turning and heading towards her car.“Did you see the insult you brought upon me? She only had the audacity to do that to me because you gave her an audience. You didn’t even have the decency to respect me as your wife!” Sandra’s voice grew louder as she yelled.“Are you jealous right now?” Salvador questioned, his words slipping out before he could fully process them. Sandra, taken aback by the unexpected comment, burst into laughter.“You must think you’re some sort of king? Jealous? Of whom?
