Kelvin's Pov

Mary and Justin stand frozen in the lobby, their faces pale with shock. They can’t believe what just happened. The senior manager, Mr. Harris, had not only apologized to me but also slapped the lobby manager and ordered Justin and Mary to leave.

Justin’s face twists with anger as he steps forward, his voice rising. “This is ridiculous! Do you know who I am? You can not just send me out like that. My father is about to secure a partnership with Eclipse Group. I’m a VIP here! You have no right to throw me out!”. If you want to throw someone out of here it should definitely be him! Mary nod in agreement

Mr. Harris doesn’t even flinch. His expression is cold as he gestures to the security guards. “Escort them out. Now.”

The guards step forward, their expressions grim. Mary grabs Justin’s arm, her voice trembling. “Let’s just go, Justin. We’ll figure this out.”

Justin shakes her off, his face red with rage. “No! I’m not leaving! This is unacceptable!”

But the guards don’t care about his protests. They grab Justin and Mary by the arms and start dragging them toward the exit. Justin struggles, shouting obscenities, but it’s no use. Within moments, they’re outside, the glass doors sliding shut behind them.

I watch them go, my expression calm but my mind racing. This isn’t over. I know Justin well enough to know he won’t let this go.

Outside, Justin pulls out his phone, his hands shaking with anger. He dials his father’s number, his voice sharp as soon as the call connects.

“Dad, something just happened. I need you to call Zac. That senior manager just threw me out of the Eclipse Group building! If this affects today’s deal, we’re screwed!”

His father’s voice is calm but firm on the other end. “Calm down, Justin. I’ll handle it. Zac owes me a favor. I’ll make sure you’re back inside in no time.”

Justin hangs up, his jaw clenched. Mary stands beside him, her arms crossed and her expression worried. “Do you think this will mess things up?”

Justin shakes his head, though his confidence seems forced. “No. My father has connections. We’ll be back inside soon in no time.”

Justin was so worried that he couldn't wait any longer… he immediately pick up his phone and dial Zac's number. Upon hearing of the situation Zac sent someone to escort Mary and Justin back into the building

Sure enough, within minutes, a man in a sleek black suit steps out of the building and approaches them. “Mr. Justin” he asks, his tone polite but distant.

Justin nods, his chest puffing out. “ Yes that’s me.”

The man gestures toward the entrance. “Mr. Zac has instructed me to escort you back inside. Please follow me.”

Justin smirks, shooting Mary a triumphant look. “Told you.”

Mary smiles, though her eyes still betray her unease. They follow the man back into the building, the guards stepping aside without a word.

Meanwhile, I’ve already made my way into the main hall of Eclipse Group’s headquarters. The room is buzzing with activity, filled with the city’s elite. Everyone is talking about the upcoming appearance of the chairman and the company that’s about to form a partnership with Eclipse Group.

I move through the crowd, my presence unnoticed at first. But then someone recognizes me.

“Wait a minute,” a man says, his voice loud enough to draw attention. “Isn’t that Mary’s ex-boyfriend? The one she dumped for Justin?”

The crowd turns to look at me, their expressions a mix of curiosity and amusement.

“Yeah, that’s him,” a woman says, her tone mocking. “What’s he doing here? Did he get lost on his way to the janitor’s closet?”

Laughter ripples through the crowd. I don’t react, my expression calm as I continue walking. But the comments keep coming.

“I heard he’s a poor orphan. How did he even get in here?”

“Maybe he’s here to beg for a job. You know how desperate people like him are.”

I ignore them, my focus unwavering. But the crowd doesn’t let up.

At that moment, Justin and Mary reenter the hall, their presence immediately commanding attention. Flanking them is the man in the black suit, his expression unreadable, his posture radiating authority. The air shifts almost instantly, the low hum of conversation dying down as all eyes turn toward them.

The crowd’s reaction is swift and seamless, as if flipping a switch. The sneers and laughter from just moments ago vanish, replaced by eager smiles and murmurs of admiration. The same people who had been so quick to mock now scramble to offer nods of approval, their voices laced with sudden respect.

"Justin!" someone calls out, tone dripping with enthusiasm. "You never fail to impress."

"Mary, you look stunning as always," another chimes in, the earlier ridicule conveniently forgotten.

The change is almost laughable. Hypocrisy hangs thick in the air, but neither Justin nor Mary acknowledges it. They bask in the attention, their expressions unreadable but their strides confident. The crowd shifts to accommodate them, making way as if they were royalty.

And just like that, the balance of power in the room shifts again.

“Justin! Mary! Over here!” someone calls out.

“Justin, I heard your father’s about to secure a partnership with Eclipse Group. That’s amazing!”

“Yeah, once the deal is signed, your family will be unstoppable!”

Mary beams, her earlier unease forgotten as she basks in the attention. Justin smirks, his confidence fully restored.

“Of course,” Justin says, his voice loud enough for everyone to hear. “My family doesn’t settle for less than the best. Once the chairman signs off on our project, we’ll be the talk of the city.”

The crowd cheers, their admiration for Justin and Mary growing by the second.

Someone in the crowd points at me, their tone dripping with sarcasm. “Hey, Kelvin! Maybe you should ask Justin for a job. I’m sure he’d be happy to help out a poor orphan like you.”

Laughter erupts again, and Justin joins in, his smirk widening. “Yeah, Kelvin. I might even let you clean my shoes. What do you say?”

Mary giggles, her arm linked with Justin’s. “Be nice, Justin. He’s probably just here to see what real success looks like.”

The crowd eats it up, their laughter swelling like a rising tide, feeding off Justin’s mockery. Smirks spread, whispers turn into jeers, and the air hums with amusement at my supposed humiliation.

I stand there, unmoving, my expression calm, unreadable. To them, I must look like a fool, standing in silence while they revel in their petty triumph. But inside, my mind is sharp, calculating, every detail registering with cold precision.

Let them laugh. Let them mock. Let them think they’ve won.

They have no idea what’s coming.

I glance at Justin, meeting his smug gaze head-on. He thinks he holds all the power, that his words have cut deep. He doesn’t realize he’s just given me exactly what I needed…a reason. A push.

They’re celebrating too soon.

Because when the dust settles, I won’t just be standing. I’ll be the one they never saw coming.

As the crowd continues to fawn over Justin and Mary, I notice a few people glancing at me with curiosity. They’re not joining in the mockery, but they’re clearly wondering why I’m here.

One man, older and dressed in a tailored suit, approaches me. His expression is thoughtful as he studies me. “You’re Kelvin, right? Mary’s ex?”

I nod, my tone neutral. “That’s me.”

The man tilts his head, his gaze sharp. “You don’t seem bothered by all this. Most people would be embarrassed.”

I shrug. “Why should I be? Their opinions don’t matter to me.”

The man chuckles, a hint of respect in his eyes. “Interesting. You’re either very confident or very foolish. I’m curious to find out which.”

He needs me in there!”A uniformed officer blocks me with a firm hand. “Sir, you can’t. It’s too dangerous. We’ve got strict orders”I cut him off, rage spilling out of me. “Orders? He’s in there facing Justin alone! He’s walking into death, and you expect me to stand here and do nothing?”Behind me, I hear Lydia’s voice, cracked and broken. She’s sobbing, begging the officers just as desperately. “Please, you don’t understand. That man in there Kelvin he’s everything. I
