“I can't wait to see the effect.”

Elias said sternly “You should be grateful that I am not sexually aroused otherwise, your wife would have warmed my bed tonight as part of her punishment.”

“Wow, it seems you have a death wish.”

Francis said coldly.

Elias gave a mocking laughter. He and his bodyguards went out of the building.

Francis couldn't let Elias go like that. He followed them.

Francis pointed at Elias. “It's not enough that your partnership with Celestial Brand was terminated. You want to mourn and watch all you and your family worked for years to crumble, right?”

“That can never happen. Do you know how long it took us to get to where we are in the business world today? I am not like your wife who sold her virtue for a deal.”

Elias sneered and added. “I don't have any business with you. Don't push me to the wall.”

Hahaha!

Francis laughed. Next, he Pulled out his phone and placed a call to Williams Mathias.

“Within the twinkle of an eye, set the Loryds' production company ablaze. Nothing in the building should be spared.”

The Loryds' production company was the biggest of all their business properties. The others were just for storage and packaging.

Would it be possible to destroy a large building within the twinkle of an eye?

Elias eyes darted through his bodyguard before looking at Francis. “Do you think we are acting a movie here. Get lost before my guards disfigure your face.”

Just then, Elias got a call from his brother, Jones but he ignored it. Almost immediately, he got a call from one of his employees at the office who ought to be on night shift.

Reluctantly, he answered.

“What is going on Cyril?”

A troubled voice came from the other end. “Sir, we have lost everything. The production company is on fire.”

Cyril hung up.

Elias thought slightly drifted to what Francis said earlier but he waved it off.

Quickly, Elias called his father.

“What is going on dad? I got a call from Cyril.”

“We are doomed! We are finished! Fire has engulfed our production company, we lost everything. All our shareholders and partners have requested for their monetary settlement.”

Andy sneered.

Elias didn't believe his ears, just some hours ago, they lost a huge deal with Celestial Brand and now their production company has been destroyed by fire.

His knees became wobbly and he fell flat to the floor.

The bodyguards rushed to assist him but he gestured for them to stay away.

Elias held Francis' leg and said softly, “I underrated you. You spoke and fulfilled your words.”

“You dared me. You lied against my wife. I will never spare anyone who inflicts pain of any kind on my wife.”

Francis uttered coldly.

“Please forgive us. We are ruined,” Elias uttered with a teary voice. “I will never have anything to do with your wife or her family.”

The bodyguards were shocked and confused by Francis’ words.

Francis signed, “Fine, you will be spared. Next time, you might not be lucky. Get up, go in there and apologize to Jacelyn.”

Hearing that, Elias managed to stand up with two of his bodyguards holding his hands.

“For your information, I am the new boss of Celestial Brand. You must not tell anyone who is behind your company's destruction. But you can dare me again.”

Francis said coldly.

Elias rushed into the building as though a wild animal was pursuing him.

He knelt down before Jacelyn who was still wincing in pain.

“I am sorry ma. I falsely accused you earlier. Next time, I won't believe what anyone tells me about you. I am sorry, please show me and my family mercy.”

Jacelyn stood up and widened her eyes. Elias threatened and inflicted pain on her earlier and at the moment he was seeking for mercy.

What on earth is going on?!

Francis walked in with an indifferent expression. Jacelyn approached him with a confused look.

“You heard all he said earlier. Now, he is asking for mercy. I am lost.”

Francis giggled, “He has realized his mistakes and deemed it fit to apologize to you. Forget about him, let's go home.”

Francis looked at Silas but Silas avoided his gaze.

Feigning annoyance, Silas spoke. “If the new boss was present, is this how you'll embarrass him? It's a good thing he didn't attend Cox I have told him all that happened in my presence.

Silence filled the air with disappointment evident on the Carls faces.

Angrily, Grandpa Carl announced. “You all should meet me at home.”

The Carls hurriedly followed after him. However, before Jacelyn could get to the car, Thompson, who was the driver, zoomed off.

Tears rolled down her cheeks at this point. She looked at Francis who consoled her by giving her a warm embrace.

Other people present at PEAUR CAFE had covered the scene and posted it on social media.

Jacelyn was tagged to a lot of it, she got the notifications but ignored it.

She hopped on Francis' scooter and they got back home.

At the Carls mansion.

“Everyone, the Loryds' production Co have been destroyed by fire. No one knows the cause of the fire. It's all over the news and now their business is at the verge of collapsing.”

Yusi announced with a worried look.

“What?”

“What is going on?”

“We were humiliated by Elias Loryd and all of a sudden, they are battling with financial crises.”

“There's someone behind all this.”

The Carls whispered.

“It's a good thing I am not yet married to Jones. I can't deal with a poor and miserable husband. I am not like Jacelyn.”

Yusi announced unapologetically.

With a frown, Grandpa Carl roared. “Jacelyn, because of you I was humiliated, insulted and embarrassed in public.”

“I am sorry. It is not my fault.”

Jacelyn pleaded.

“Then it is ours,” Keren said mockingly.

“You are no good. You and your husband are birds of the same feather. The news that you slept with Silas so he could maneuver the new boss in your favor is all over the internet. Next you'll definitely have your way with the new boss so things can always work in your favor.”

Thompson said bitterly.

“Don't say that, it's a rumor after all and I trust my daughter. She will never stoop so low.”

Paul defended Jacelyn.

Francis was about to speak when Grandpa Carl ordered. “Quiet!”

At this point, silence filled the air.

“For bringing shame to our family, Jacelyn your services are no longer needed with Carlton. First thing tomorrow morning, handover everything to Thompson, including the contract and all the necessary documents.”

“Grandpa, you can't go back on your words!”

Jacelyn said calmly.

“I just did and no one can change it.” Grandpa replied harshly.

Jacelyn had secured the contract yet her family was sidelining her with no benefits attached.

It broke her heart.

She rushed out of the mansion as she sobbed.

Francis felt pity for Jacelyn. If only they knew the extent, he could go to punish anyone who hurts his wife.

He also left after Jacelyn only to find her sitting on the floor in the bedroom, tears rolling down her cheeks.

Slowly, he approached her. “Cheer up. You don't have to be this broken because of your family. They don't even care about your feelings.”

Jacelyn managed to gulp down saliva. “If my family can't believe me, who will? They see me like a bait that was used to get what they want now they want to throw me away. It's painful, I don't think I can come over this.

“Hmm, then you have to prove to them that they need you more than you need them.”

“How can I do that? I just have to tolerate all this. They keep enjoying the lion share of all the benefits attached while my family and I managed the crumbs they offer us.”

Jacelyn said with a worried look.

“By the way, you bagged the contract and not any of your family members. No one can take your place in the company, they will regret their actions and ask you for forgiveness.”

Jacelyn shook her head, “This is not a scene in one of the movies you have watched. Anyone can be replaced, I'll get over it. Excuse me for a few hours.”
