A strand of tear rushed off from Elara's face. It was her face that had made her be crowned the queen of the city.

She turned, not realizing that when she hugged Adrain so tightly, her boobs smashed against his chest.

Adrian's face turned from pale to pink. Burning breath red. And Elara didn't let go until he choked.

"Sorry.. sorry about that!" I'm just overexcited. She claimed.

Her mind raced, multiple thoughts of things she wanted to do ran into her mind.

But first, Elara turned to Adrain. "Thank you very much!"

"There's no need. I already told you, I owe you a favour!" Adrian smiled brightly at her.

She blushed. The young man was truly a gentleman. Meanwhile, Adrain could not tell her that he was the one she had saved a decade ago. Besides, he didn't even know how he was going to react to the news yet.

"Is there anything that you would want us to do?" Elara hinted without any shame.

However, Adrain shook his head. Elara must be dying to try out a whole lot of things and he wasn't going to rob her of the moment.

"Not yet. Let's go with your to-do list first!" He responded.

Elara was elated. "My family. I want to share the news with them!" She quickly chimed, almost jumping.

Adrain almost cocked a brow but schooled his look back into neutrality.

"Why?" The one word escaped from his mouth.

"They have been the only ones standing by me ever since the incident happened. I owe everything to them!" She responded.

Elara didn't yet realize that he didn't care about her. Then, her face was booming and helping their entertainment house surge in numbers.

After the incident, these numbers quickly dwindled. They needed to find a way to fix her, that was the only reason they sought means to help her.

But for Elara who was despised by everyone around her and literally called a monster, she could barely see through their mask.

"Then why did they let you get tortured so much?" Adrian's teeth were clenched tightly to control his rising anger.

"Because they had been tricked. When Halt compression came over to get me, hoping for a means to cure me, my parents were more than happy.

The family was powerful and would get the finest medications in the world for me. But they didn't realize that they were only trying to exploit me!" She explained further.

The way she defended her family, it was going to hurt her deeply if she got hold of the family's secret.

'And they didn't see any pictures or images alone?' Adrain was tempted to ask.

When people love others so deeply, they tend to overlook their flaws and make excuses for them. For Elara, he was going to guide her gently through the part of the truth.

"You don't have to be worried. My family are nice people and they are sure going to love you!" Elara's voice came along with a gentle smile.

The grand building mocked Adrain's appearance. The percent lanes and artistically placed marble walls.

However, the decay in the building was evident. The family was gradually beginning to lose the wealth and influence that it had gathered over the years. And now, what was left were a few servants and a hold name.

They knocked on the door. A grim-looking human in her late sixties approached with a glare on her face.

"Who are you?" She inquired subtly with a hint of disdain.

Elara smiled. Adrain scowled.

She didn't even recognize her daughter. Even though she wore the same face that she wore just a few decades ago.

'So much for being a mother!' He thought.

"It's my mom! Elara! I know I look different but it's me!" Elara was ecstatic as she spoke, excitement flickering through every bit of his body.

The mask on Ann's face instantly broke. Her face flashed with excitement.

"My Elara. Is this really you?"

"Yes... It's me; mom!" Elara moved closely to her mother and he hugged her tightly.

Elara attempted to introduce Adrain to her but before she could, she was dragged off into the mansion.

"Come. You must see everyone! My Elara is back!"

Lady Ann showcased Elara to everyone. The mansion suddenly turned into a ground of excitement. Hugs flashed.

Brabra, Elara's cousin, came forward and hugged her tightly. But Adrain easily picked up the glimmer in her eyes, she wasn't happy for this reunion.

"So glad to have you back Elara! Now those suitors would be trooping in like never before! You would be married to a rich and influential husband and boom, back to the spotlight!" Her theatrics were just spot on, enough to fool everyone except someone like Adrian who had gone through the hardening of war.

"Exactly. Our family would shoot back to its initial position now that you are back and those ugly ducklings called models would shoot back into the holes they came from!" Vincent emphasized.

After being called the name for a while, Elara shrugged. But quickly pushed off the feeling. In her opinion, her family was being playful as always.

Then a man walked in. Elara's father. Strong, firm and powerful. His presence was commanding and almost halted the chaos.

"Greetings Dad!" Elara bowed almost instantly, and respect filtered into her every move.

"Great to have you back!" The old man half-smiled.

Everything was going perfectly until Brabra noticed something odd and noted it. "But who's the clown you brought with you?" She inquired, her fingers pointing at Adrian.

For the first time, they noticed that someone was in the room. Their eyes heated up with disdain.

Quickly, Elara stepped in. "Be polite everyone!" She scolded with a warm smile, a failed attempt to disengage the tension that rose in the room.

"This's Adrain. He saved me and helped me heal!" She noted.

There was no reaction. Patron Gate stepped forward, his stare blazing intensely at Adrian.

"How much do you want to be paid for helping my daughter get her face back!"

The excitement on Elara's face dropped. "Dad, you cannot ask that!" She stressed and her father's eyes cocked.

"Why not?"

"What if he doesn't want money but something else!"

"Like what!"

Elara wasn't hesitant at all and she replied. "Like getting married to me!" She responded.

“I came as soon as I heard that you sent for me, Shadow Monarch.” Commander Rylan bowed profoundly until his head touched the ground. He stayed that way, awaiting the moment when Adrian was going to instruct him to lift his head, his fingers almost trembling in nervousness. Silently, his heart thudded, his eyes attempting to steal a glance at Adrian. “I am sorry for my lateness, my liege.” He added, worried that he may have aroused the anger of the Shadow Monarch. Adrian sighed softly, and then he leaned forward, taking a deep breath. “Get up, Commander Rylan.” He said exactly what the commander had hoped for since his back was beginning to make him feel very strange. “Thank you, my liege,” Rylan grunted as soon as he stood erect, and then it was time for him to expect the reason why he had been summoned. He could only stare at Adrian for a couple of seconds before he eventually looked away, careful of every action he made. Adrian stood up from the chair that almost looked like

He couldn’t count how many times he had sighed, holding onto the smile on his face. “Why does this seem very personal to you, Adrian?” Maya finally asked the question that had been nestled in her mind for a very long time. She didn’t just know where to start from, struggling to find the most suitable words to use at that moment. Adrian sighed heavily, and then he cleared his throat, his expression plain and unreadable. “That’s because this is very personal for me, Maya.” He finally broke his silence, but the lady still needed to understand what he meant, staring with her brows furrowed. It almost seemed as though she needed to beg for a response, but just before she was ready to break the silence, Adrian continued with a low but audible tone. “I was forced out of this City by the same people who killed your husband, Maya.” Adrian paused for a while, veins of an

It will help with your mother.” “Yes!” At the mention of his mother, Seth sprang up from the bed, rushing out of the room at once.He moved as though he knew where he was, but Adrian was not so much bothered.“He seems smart.” He whispered, certain that he was going to be able to carry out the task.Maya was no longer jerking, but her condition had not become any better. CHAPTER NINETY-THREE Adrian was already on his way toward Maya and Seth, and without him having to say it, the little boy and his mother got up from their knees, their terrified countenance replaced by beams of hope. Maya sighed heavily, and soon, she was smiling just like her son. “Get into the car…” Adrian said calmly to them, unlocking the car with the car remote that was tightly gripped in his right hand. Maya led her son into the backseat, and Seth sat down quietly, looking around with obvious signs that it was the first time he was getting into a car. His wide eyes glittered with marvel and excitement, his lips refusing to seal as the interior of the expensive car wowed him.He didn’t just get to be in any car, but a luxurious one that instantly pushed several thoughts into his mind. “I will buy this type of car for you, Mummy.” He turned to Maya, smiling with a firm resilience and determination.Maya chuckled softly, but the next second, the brightness on her face vanishe

“No!” Maya screamed as soon as she saw that Adrian had fallen to the ground. Tears fell from her eyes, and left with the tough decision of either leaving her son to run after him or protecting him, she watched from a distance, sniffling loudly.“Please, don’t die.” She prayed silently, watching as the source of her freedom lay still on the ground. Brymo and his men were already rejoicing, cheering as they looked at Adrian who was still on the ground for over a minute. “The bastard is dead, Boss!” One of the men said to Brymo, and then he began to walk toward Adrian. He kicked his leg as soon as he was close enough, and after getting no reaction from him, he inched closer, looking downward at his face. He kept his eyes on Adrian’s face for a while, just to be certain that he was no longer breathing.“I think he is dead, Boss!” He announced happily, turning to face their leader. Brymo nodded, his eyes still on Adrian.“Serves him right!” He snorted, limping toward the body. “I ho
