11. The trail!

The great Divine academy, Meeting room

“so, have you sent message to all five of them?” (Mike)

“Yes, Master. They must be on their way.” (???)

“hmm, okay.” (Mike)

As always, the person again disappeared in the darkness after talking to the principal. The meeting room is now restored to its previous silence again. Only sounds left is the sound of Mike sipping his tea.

After about five minutes the first person finally entered the room. He first looked around and seemingly not finding anyone beside principle he had a shocked expression on his face, regardless his shaking body he still greeted Mike respectfully:

“G-good M-morning P-principal, u-uh you summoned me?”

“Yeah, we will talk when everyone’s here just sit anywhere randomly” (Mike)

Mike responded nodding his head. He is always happy to see people scared of him, due to which he never restrains his aura around him. Maybe he just has this fetish or something. Then he looked at the person who has entered just now.

He is the rank 71 professor of the academy and is the teacher of the first-year mage class. He has been working under the academy for about 10 years now yet his rank is still so low. This shows his low-talent. Not to mention according to his aura he is just a veteran rank mage, not even at peak yet.

‘seems like that arrogant brat is not that much talentless compared to these trashes.’ (Mike)

Mike has always been a person who favored talented and despised those who were weak. It seems this is related to his past. Legend says that once he was nothing but a mere slave in the slave market. But one day, enlightenment was granted to him by luck or maybe god you can say.

After that, started the journey of one of the greatest mages ever mentioned in history, by destroying the slave market and taking his first steps to the path of strength.

Nowadays, that very slave has reached great heights in magic. All of this has been done by his own hands and an unbreaking will’s efforts.

Well backstories aside, Mike has invited all the five first-year professors today to attend this meeting. Afterall, it is of great importance. But of course, even if he is the principal, he can’t force every teacher to rush instantly to him, after just a single command. All teachers have their authority and respect since they are in this academy.

If he does such things, he will leave a negative impact on every teacher working in the academy, it can lead to the retirement of several qualified and talented professors after seeing his rude attitude. He doesn’t want to deal with the headache of finding good and qualified teachers.

Nowadays, most of the veteran or above rank people either joins a great family out of the five and becomes either their guard or go to the church to be a holy knight or a worker there.

The resources that can be provided by these places are huge and sufficient for their growth. Unlike, the academy where you have to hunt monsters or find ruins yourself if you want any rare materials for your researches etc.

But the academy also has its advantages too. The great divine academy is the biggest academy in this world and have a library containing a vast amount of book. This library is a huge storage of knowledge. This library was actually present here even before the academy was established.

Instead the academy was established here just because of this great library. There’s a legend, that this library is created by a king rank elf from ancient times. No one knows the exact no of books stored in here or how many are hidden in secret ways.

Even Mike, with his great perception is not able to scan this library fully. This shows the vast difference between a grandmaster and a king rank individual. This mystery has remained unsolved, since ages.

After half an hour four out of the five professors are already here only one is left now. Looking around, the only one left is that arrogant bastard. Mike looked at the time it was only one-minute left for the allocated time. Seeing this he got irritated.

Just as he was about to roar in his rage, the gate opened and the very cause of his anger appeared right in front of him. The man had dark purple hair and dark blue pupils. His face was expressionless, yet his eyes was as arrogant and cold as ever.

“Why are so late!” (Mike)

Neo looked at his wrist clock for a while before saying:

“But I am on time, see the clock is pointing right on the time you allocated.” (Neo)

Mike was speechless by this guy’s shamelessness. He knew that this guy is right on time, but shouldn’t you be coming early like others.

‘Tsk, damn bastard, he’s doing it on purpose’ (Mike)

“Ok, just sit around anywhere, it’s already time to start the meeting” (Mike)

Mike just shook his head. It is pointless to argue with this bastard, he has an excuse for everything and making him accept his own mistake is like making a buffalo dance on the tune of music.

All the other professors were already chocking on their own saliva in fear. They had horrified expressions on their face and they seem to be sweating buckets. If not for the fact that Mike was still restraining his aura to some limits, no doubt that these people would have fainted already.

Yet, Neo was unaffected from all this, he looked around and found some unfamiliar faces, according to his memory these four are just extras who are not mentioned much in the game. Neo just ignored their pathetic state and in order to make a distance from them he sat directly on the seat nearest to the principle.

Mike had a great frown on his face, seeing him sitting so near him. Not to mention a veteran rank, even a master rank individual would have difficulties breathing after sitting so close to him due to his aura, yet this arrogant bastard was sitting near Mike like he doesn’t care at all.

Mike clicked his tongue and just focused on ignoring this thick faced bastard.

“So, today I wanted you all to figure-out who will be leading the student’s field experience trial this year?” (Mike)

Field experience trial, it is the first field experience trip a student takes after he joins the academy and it is generally carried out once every year.

‘Hmm, so its already time for that starting event of the game?’ (Neo)

This game also started with a tutorial, just like any other game out there on earth. The tutorial was the event which happened before the first main event of the story.

During this tutorial, you will start the game as Mark Asperl a first-year student of the great divine academy have to hunt a few low-rank monsters like horned-rabbits and else during a field trail.

You as a player will have go through this same trail every year in the academy, the only thing that will change is that the difficulty will be much higher than before. Going through the test the student will have to make report of their encounters, difficulties and findings. You will get points based on your report and this report’s result will be announced later.

The students will get their ranks based on their report and will get benefits according to their ranks. So, in order to get more resources, every player tries their best to get a higher rank. This is not only a physical but also a mental test too.

And since this is a quest related to the main protagonist how can it be so simple as just simply hunting monsters, there’s bound to be some problems coming towards the problem magnet Mark, during this test.

All the four professors started to look at each other, they had nervous expressions on their faces, they all were trying to leave the responsibility on other and just doesn’t wanted to participate. Afterall, they knew that this test is not only for students but also for teachers too.

Any professor who will be in charge of this trail will have to ensure the safety of every single student and if he was careless and any student got killed, the professor’s rank will be reduced or he might be suspended directly from the academy.

These all four already had a bad record and they didn’t want to take a risk in this matter. If something went wrong, they will end up bearing the anger of Mike, which is truly a traumatic experience for them.

After a few times they looked at each other fiercely they all came to a conclusion unanimously and focused their attention towards Neo. A plan to frame Neo was instantly created in a mere matter of seconds.

The first of the four took the lead and said:

“Mr. Principle, I thing it would be a better thing if we appoint Mr. Neo as the head of this trail.”

“Afterall he is still new and need to know more and have to develop a better understanding of the academy.”

“I think this is a good idea.”

“I too, think that Mr. Neo is perfect for this work.”

“I also request Mr. Neo to lead this trail.”

All the four of them put their thoughts and schemes together and proposed their idea of using Neo as a scapegoat. Although, Mike was showing a frown on his face, he was already happy in his heart. His very purpose for this meeting has already been achieved. He was able to make Neo fall this trap. There’s no backing now, the only way for Neo is to accept this.

Unaware to Mike and the professor’s scheme, Neo was actually busy in his own world, he was already bored of these schemes. He had known what was going to happen the very moment he entered the room, so he was as relaxed as ever. Except one thing surprised him:
