3. Meeting with principal

Era-3542, The Great Divine Academy, Principal Office;

A man with dark purple hair and dark blue eyes was sitting on the chair with a very cold expression on his face. He is wearing a normal suit an aristocrat would wear generally. But the person sitting in front of the man have a frown on his face seeing his clothes.

‘Why the heck is this kid still in his aristocratic clothes, even though he is already a paladin, tsk as expected of a bastard’ (Principal Mike Fall)

“So, Mr. Neo as you know you have been sent here to be the knight teacher for our first-year students this time, I would like to congratulate you for becoming a Paladin first.” (Mike)

“Thank you, it’s an honor to be congratulated by the greatest Fire magician of the world.” (Neo)

“HaHa…didn’t expected that someone still know this old man, even though its been several decades since I last entered a battlefield.” (Mike)

“It’s just natural, the church records the achievements of big figures like you to teach the younger generation.” (Neo)

Although Neo’s face was still expressionless and cold as ever, in his mind he was already thinking of several circumstances at a terrifying rate. Just after he reached the academy he was invited by a servant to the principal office. He followed and now was standing in front of an old monster, capable of destroying countries with a single spell, the greatest fire magician Mike Fall, this old demon is well known for his shrewdness and he have a habit of conspiring on others. Mike is a Level 12 Grand-Mage capable of unleashing terrifying magic.

Once targeted you will have a slim chance of surviving this guy. If you think that this old foggy is villain then you are extremely wrong. Its just that his personality is of a shrew person but to some people he is still very benevolent like his grand-daughter, to the original protagonist and several other children with good potential. But he is harsh on those with low potential like me.

‘Looks like the coming days will cause a great head-ache to me, can’t I just disappear out of his sight? Nope, this guy’s perception is just too damn strong.’

If it was any other ordinary person, he would have already collapsed due to this old man’s massive aura in this room. But it’s just that I have the personality trait of ‘fearless’ which restricts me to feel any fear. Thus, his intimidation will not work on me. Looks like there are some benefits of this personality too.

“So, Mr. Neo how was your time at the church?” (Mike said with a huge grin on his face)

“Obviously, it was really a good time, it was an honor to learn from the church.” (Neo, still expressionless)

Seeing no effect on Neo, Mike was really confused now. As an experienced wizard, Mike can instantly differentiate between a person with talent and someone without talents. But the strange thing was that Mike can see both things in Neo, he is talented while being talent-less at the same time, such a situation, even he was dumbfounded.

But obviously Mike just ignored this all and continued to put pressure on Neo, yet the intimidation of his massive aura which can make people bow down in fear was not showing any effect on this guy.

For a while the invisible fight between the two continued until Mike finally gave up on putting pressure anymore. His intimidation was really ineffective today and can’t even make Neo flinch a bit.

“Here, Mr. Neo take these keys, the Villa No. 75 will be yours to use during your stay here, oh and you can start taking your class from next Monday, until then you can tour around the academy” (Mike)

“As you wish, then I will be leaving now.” (Neo)

After Neo walked out of the office, a strange sense of silence enveloped the room until a voice broke this silence:

“So, what do you think of him, Master?” (???)

A black shadow appeared behind Mike out of thin air, it was as if the person was always there but no one was aware of his presence before he revealed himself.

“Hmm, I am not sure yet, but he seems different from the rumors.” (Mike)

“Yeah, in the rumors it was said he is a coward and waste, there is also rumors saying that he forced himself on several maids. There are several rumors of him being an alcoholic sex-fiend in the capital.” (???)

“Are you sure these rumors are about him? To me he seemed as if he was person with a cold and dark personality who always seem to have only one thought in his mind…” (Mike)

“what thought?” (???)

“I am not sure but he seems to be a person who enjoy killing and slaughtering people” (Mike)

“Is that so” (???)

“Just observe him for a while, I don’t want any of my students to be harmed by him, even though he is a trash in talent he is still a veteran who has been trained by the church itself” (Mike)

“Yes, Master” (???)

The person then again faded away in the shadows and became invisible to the naked eyes of ordinary people again.

“Neo Kain, huh… it seems the church has given you a new surname as a paladin….” (Mike)

After walking out of the Principle room Neo heaved a sigh of relief in his mind, it seems he has survived the first day with success. But there’s still a long way to go, he needs to become strong fast enough he doesn’t want to die in the hands of the original protagonist like in the original story.

Yeah, Neo was killed by the protagonist in the original story. As you already know that Neo have arrogant personality, he offended the protagonist by being too arrogant in front of him.

Even though the protagonist was still a first-year student in the academy and was still weak compared to Neo at the start of the semester, his advancement was really fast, and as you know every protagonist is protected by the heavens, he was a heavens child too.

While walking towards his assigned villa, Neo started to think about the death event of the original Neo. It was actually a conflict due to one of the heroines. When the protagonist Mark Asperl was on his way to the knight class at the very first day of the academy, he saw the heroine being bullied by some noble guys.

Mark being the protagonist, how can he still be called the protagonist if he didn’t save the damsel in distress. He immediately fought with the noble kids to protect the heroine and got caught by the president of the student council when fighting the bullies.

Just as you would have already guessed the president was none other than other heroine with a strict type of personality, she took Mark to the teacher’s office for punishment. Mark got the punishment to carryout cleaning and stuffs and when saw time after he was done with his work, he was already late for the class.

When he got in the class, Neo the new Knight teacher greeted him with cold voice and punished him for being late. Mark did not want to endure more punishments and thus tried to clear the misunderstanding. But Neo being arrogant he didn’t even hear him and thus Mark got irritated with Neo on the very first day.

And later what would have happened you would have already guessed, No? Then just shut down your brain functions for a while and try to understand with your knees, you will definitely guess it.

Yeah, this irritation eventually continued to develop and, in the end, it developed in the hate. But Mark didn’t have any way to get back on Neo, because Neo was the teacher. But he got his chance when the day to spar came. On this day you can challenge anyone you want except for the principal obviously.

So, Mark seeing it as a good way challenged Neo but was defeated one-sidedly by Neo, thus he became even more resentful of Neo and then proposed another challenge where Neo and him will fight at the end of the semester again to decide the final winner.

Neo being arrogant obviously agreed this term and put it all at the back of his mind, he thought that a commoner would not be much of a trouble to him, even after a few months he can still easily defeat Mark. But reality played otherwise. In the following months Mark progressed extremely fast by getting many rare opportunities and became strong enough to directly kill Neo. And since he already had a huge potential, he was forgiven by the principal for this.

What about the church? Obviously, they just ignored it because they knew about the class Mark has awakened, Mark has awakened the legendary class ‘Hero’, and the church was the biggest supporter of a hero since ages, so they just ignored that the hero killed a paladin of their church.

This is just how important your class is in this world. All that is important is your talent in this world, if you don’t have good talent even your parents will despise you in this world. This world follows the rule of the survival of the fittest. The strong tramples over weak without any care in the world.

And people like Neo with no talent and a solid background can’t really live freely in this world. In order to get a good life, you need to get strong enough in this world.

As for the church, it is just a partial backing for Neo and will only help him solve smaller troubles and will abandon him for their own purpose very easily, so he can’t really depend on the church for his own survival, he know that he have to become strong enough that no protagonist can make him suffer.

Although this is really harsh but this is just how reality is in the first place. There’s no free meal for you, you have to work hard for everything.
