Six ugly mermaid-like creatures surrounded Gin with glowing red eyes. Gin had time to think about hitting them, he could still do it in the water. He could even break the mermaid's hand that held his wrist.

But his instincts told him to be quiet, even when they made him bleed. He shouldn't hurt them no matter what.

A screen suddenly covered his view.

[Welcome to the Well of the Abyss]

[Do you want to continue?]

[<YES> <NO>]

Gin fell silent, almost out of breath. He had been drinking water from this well as Leogus had instructed, but he wasn't sure if he could control his magic.

It was worth a try. As long as he felt stronger than them, he could beat them if he was threatened.

He chose Yes.

[……]

[Now you can breathe and talk underwater]

Gin did not feel anything different. He tried to take his breath slowly. He could breathe, as if there was air in this water.

"I can talk." He was amazed by this unique ability. Never before had human technology been able to do this so advanced.

[Converting ultrasonic waves]

[……]

[Temporary skill acquired: communicate with the inhabitants of the abyss.]

Gin stared at the mermaid holding him. They seemed to be looking into something.

"Say! Are you an enemy or a friend?"

She spoke. The scary mermaid had been talking since earlier. Unfortunately, Gin's human body limited his ability to hear their voice.

"I came to control my magic."

The creature released his wrist. The others got away from him and then swam behind their leader.

"We sense abyss magic from you. But you don't look like an abyss creature."

Gin wasn't sure if he should tell them everything. They would probably fight him. Kiran might be the only party that accepted the presence of a disaster. Gun believed he would be looked upon as an enemy by other creatures.

"I'm not. I came from above. I got this magic from the dragon's core but I can't control it."

She looked at Gin suspiciously. But after considering that Gin could survive in this water, her defense decreased. Not anyone could touch the water of this well, let alone swim in it. The creature nodded then swam first.

"Come!"

She and her followers swam deeper. Gin followed her even though he didn't know where they were going. Didn't a well have a bottom? If they continued to swim deeper, they should only have stepped on the bottom of the well.

However, when they reached the bottom, they turned into a narrow tunnel that only one person could pass through. They went first one by one and Gin followed behind.

"Are you a mermaid?" Gin asked them and made them stop instantly.

Those creatures turned to him with long fangs. They didn't like the question.

"You came here without knowing anything?"

"Someone sent me here without telling me." Gin blamed Leogus. He didn't say anything about the creatures in this river, not even about this tunnel. Of course, he must have done it on purpose.

"We are sirens."

Gin had heard of sirens. Half human-fish creature who had a beautiful voice. He thought the siren was a bit prettier than them. But the sirens he knew were only fairy tales.

Gin could barely swim in the tunnel. After going through a long narrow passage, they came to the end where a metal door closed. There were no doorknobs, only fish and moon carvings above the door. They touched the door and heard the sound of metal moving. The door opened, revealing a dark space behind it.

The blue light that had followed them suddenly died the moment they passed through the door. Gin hesitated for a moment, he couldn't see anything.

"Let me see," he said slowly. Actually, he wanted to try earlier. If this place was part of the abyss, his magic should be easier to use.

Gin blinked a few times. It worked. Gradually he could see through the darkness of the water. When he realized, he was being watched by hundreds of sirens.

Gin's eyes scanned the place. More like a city in the water. There were many houses and buildings made of stone. Sirens swam to and fro like humans doing everyday activities, but there wasn't a single light in here. They could see in the dark and go about their normal activities.

Gin followed the siren that brought him. He tried to ignore their stares. With his appearance, he was striking every eye.

The siren led him into another tunnel, wider and shorter than before. The tunnel led him to a room with a tree in the middle of it. Yes, a tree underwater.

It was a golden tree, much like the oracle tree of the elves. The sirens lowered their body very deeply with their hand on their chest. Awkwardly, Gin followed them.

After that, he entered another tunnel again. The room was connected by several tunnels, who knew where they lead.

They had many tunnels. When Gin arrived at the spacious room, at first glance this place looked like an aquarium but when it was an open room, he almost thought he was in the sea. Every place was connected with these dark and lonely tunnels.

"May I ask what tree we passed earlier?"

They hissed at Gin, showing their sharp teeth. "Don't talk carelessly. They are our God!"

Gin was still following them while contemplating it. The golden tree seemed to exist in several worlds. The elves refer to it as an oracle, but here the tree was worshiped as a god.

But for Gin, the tree looked more like an administrator. The tree knew everything that happened to him. Or even better, they knew about the past and things that no one else knew. If the system exists, then there could be an administrator. Moreover, they could take his consciousness when Gin had magic resistance. Likely they enter into his system instead of using magic on him.

They finally came out of the tunnel again. Gin was blinded by a very bright light. He couldn't see anything here.

"Catch him!" An unfamiliar voice sounded loud.

Before Gin could see who that person was, his hands were held by two strong male sirens.

"What are you doing? I'm not an enemy!"

"Our Queen will decide it!"

The Queen? Finally, Gin got used to the light in the room.

Right before him, he saw a very beautiful lady. She didn't look like a fish. Her skin was gray with crystal-like purple eyes. Her red hair danced in the water. She was wearing a bright yellow dress that glowed under the light.

"Salute to the Queen of the darkness!"

"I am Baalgos, the Ruler of the Abyss. You used my magic, but how dare you not recognize me?"Everyone ran in panic, while those still trapped there died instantly as Sammy, or whatever it was, climbed onto the spectator's bench. Gin was not the only one tormented by the presence of that creature. They didn't even have time to ask for help when their necks were choked by this deadly aura.Gin clenched his fists. Not only he couldn't breathe, but all the organs inside his body felt like they were being crushed. That creature casually sat on Gin's collapsed back on the floor. Its smile widened, stretching from one cheek to the other."I know killing you won't solve the problem. Ordering that stupid human to do it is also not very useful. But I have another way to stop you."Gin wanted to speak, but once again, only blood could be coughed up. He gripped Gargan with the remaining strength he had, even though he couldn't lift his sword."An item like this is useless to me." Baalgos stepped

  • The Real Enemy

If it weren't for Amenus there, they would have surely run and panicked. But they believed that Amenus could protect them from the disaster. All eyes were on Gin. The way they looked at him now was different. He was no longer Gin, the slave they used to watch. He was Gin the disaster that they had to defeat before he killed them.To be honest, Gin had no intention of killing them all. Taking them out one by one was too exhausting for him. It would be more efficient to retrieve his core and destroy the whole world at once. Wasn't that more efficient? But the fear of the dwarves had consumed them. If Panka alone was enough to frighten them, what lay before them was far more dangerous than Panka.A rotten tomato flew and hit Gin's back. It was Matt who did it. He stood there, staring at Gin with hatred."You killed everyone," he said very softly. Gin didn't hear him; his eyes had already conveyed everything. The other slaves also grabbed the rotten food they had stored in their pockets a

  • Accused But It Was Almost Real

"Now, what we've all been waiting for! The elf!"The crowd's cheers welcomed Gin's arrival. He wondered why he was referred to as an elf. He stood in the middle of the arena, which was completely enclosed. If it weren't for the voices of the audience, he would have thought he was alone there.Gin looked up at the ceiling. The barrier covered everything. It was shaped like a curved white roof that covered the arena. There was not even a small gap for him to see outside. He didn't know where Amenus was, and he couldn't sense anyone's aura here. Such a strong barrier couldn't have been created by just anyone."And his opponent for tonight will be... The boy!" The cheers died down as Sammy emerged. The audience began murmuring among themselves, creating a loud rumble.Sammy walked timidly. When he reached the edge of the arena, he hesitated and went back inside."I don't want to die! Please help me! I don't want to!" His pleas touched the hearts of many, or at least they pretended to be t

Gin's desire to kill surged uncontrollably. The aura of Amenus could be felt from his room. He reached for the shirt that he was wearing, clutching it tightly to restrain himself."It's not time yet. I have to hold back. If he appears now, Amenus might escape again. That cowardly demon is too weak to face me."Gin took a deep breath. He couldn't mess everything up. If his instincts were correct, Amenus hadn't arrived in this kingdom yet, but he was very close.Gin had to wait. He was certain that the moment would come. It was the last opportunity that he couldn't afford to waste.Gin opened his eyes to observe his surroundings. He managed to control himself, and those in the room were unaware of his killing aura.{Master, calm yourself. There's no need to rush; you will surely meet him later.}Unlike usual, Gargan was calming Gin and advising him to be patient. But Gargan was right; even if Gin didn't do anything now, he would still encounter Amenus. It was better for him to wait with
