Scarlett observed her stats with open eyes. Her sight hovered around the soul points stat that showed 500.

"What the hell is soul point?" she understood what the others meant but this concept was new to her.

[Soul point refers to the strength of your consciousness] the system answered in its robotic voice.

"So my mind space have nothing to do with it?" Scarlett asked again trying to get a better understand of things.

[The strength of your mind space depends on your consciousness, that is why host is about able to accommodate five souls in her mind space]

Scarlett nodded in understanding. The system's explanation was clear and simple, easy to understand.

"Can't you change your voice to become more normal?" Scott's voice sounded at the side. He was about to speak again but Angelica glared at him, shutting him up.

[Assimilation of memories will begin in ten seconds] the system suddenly said startling Scarlett and the others.

Immediately the count down hit zero, Scarlett felt her head was splitting apart her consciousness returned to her body without warning.

Scarlett's eyes snapped open and she clutched her head screaming in pain as foreign memories flooded her brain.

The whole process took only thirty seconds but the pain made it feel like one hour.

Scarlett was drenched in sweat as she struggled to get up. She sat on the floor panting and holding her head.

She took a deep breath and then sent her consciousness back to her mind space.

"Are you alright?" Scott was the first to ask.

Scarlett did not respond but just observed them with a glance each until her gaze landed on Aviva. She had just gone through the life of each one of them.

Scott was a gamer with surprisingly good skills he had a single parent, his mom who loved him. He had a pretty good life before he died from being hit by a stray bullet on his way home, in his street.

Angelica was the bad girl type. She ran away from home and became part of a gang. She died in a gang fight after being stabbed from behind.

Mary was an orphan raised by the academy in her home town. She died in the explosion of her own experiment.

Druce was a young and successful business man, the brakes of his car was tampered with leading to his accident.

Aviva's life was completely blank. Scarlett couldn't see anything.

Scarlett's gaze lingered on Aviva for a while before she spoke up.

"System, why am I unable to access Aviva's memories?"

[Host's mind is not strong enough]

While Scarlett pondered over the systems words, the other where shocked at her words.

"You can access our memories?" Scott and Angelica asked simultaneously.

"Jinx" Scott said as he poked Angelica.

"What?" Angelica raised a brow.

"We said the same thing at the same time so jinx on you" Scott smiled stupidly as he explained.

Angelica facepalmed before turning to Scarlett.

"So how can you access our memories?"

"I didn't do it, the system did and besides this is my body so I'm in charge, I can do what I want and I'm not entitled to giving an explanation" Scarlett said coldly, surprising Angelica and the others.

She sent her consciousness back to her body and sighed. She left her room and walked to the kitchen. The house was empty and silent, so silent that she could hear her own breathing noise.

She went to the fridge and brought out a milk box which was already half way down. She placed in on the dining table and went to get the cereal.

She poured some of the milk on a plate and then added cereal. She brought out her phone before she began eating.

"Show me my account balance" Scarlett said to the phone. The screen lit up and displayed 5000NGC ( New Gen Coins)

"This should last me sometime but I need to make more money" She decided.

She ate her food in silence recalling everything that happened.

Her parents and younger brother died three days ago in a car accident. The car exploded because the fuel tank was leaking. Her family were unable to afford a hover car so they were still using the old model.

The car was at least four years old and have gone through so many repairs, so Scarlett has no one to blame, blaming the car was stupid, she couldn't blame her dad as he was already dead.

Scarlett remember vividly, before the explosion, her dad threw her out of the car. The impact of the fall knocked her unconscious.

She woke up the next day at the hospital. Someone had been kind enough to send her there but she had to pay the bills herself.

She had been depressed since then, but the appearance of the system gave her something else to think about.

Just as she finished reminiscing, she felt something touch her head from behind, she acted on reflex and spun around before kicking Scott away.

"What the, how did you get outside?" she was startled seeing all five behind her.

"We came to talk, you can't just abandon us in your mind space" Druce said surprising Scarlett, it was always Scott and Angelica doing the talk.

"What do you want?" Scarlett asked suspiciously.

"You don't have to guard against us, we can read each others mind so you can tell if were trying to harm you"

Scarlett confirmed what he said by reading their minds.

"Sorry" Scarlett felt a bit embarrassed.

"Its okay we're one people after all" Scott consoled

"That sounded so wrong" Angelica commented making them all laugh.

Things were done carefully this time as they made him unconscious again.Several minutes later, a floating disk with a white manacore sitting on top flew towards the glass pod in the center of the room and ever so gently placed the manacore inside it.After the manacore was placed in, other floating disks started appearing, each carrying a purple or red mana core and then flying towards the opening of the pod. What happened then was a feast for the eyes. As the other manacores entered the pod, each released a hue that was absorbed by the white core.Thirty minutes later, the white core was brought out again, still retaining its color even after absorbing all those differen

He couldn't suppress the joy in his heart."You have finally found a way to wipe his memory?""Yes, young master and you should probably continue reading the report" the man standing beside him said. The young man being referred to as young master nodded and continued reading until his eyes widened. "White? How is that possible?""I had them redo the test a couple of times but it kept giving the same results," the assistant said."A white mana core? It sounds unbelievable, the highest so far is gold and Aviva is the only one we have captured with a golden core, how can there be white all of a sudden" the young man lost his composure. While the world was still in the dark about mana core and other related subjects, he had been studying them for years."I was shocked as well, but isn't this a good thing? We have someone stronger than Aviva ever was" the assistant said."Do not say that...Aviva had

She told her everything Alan told her while removing a lot of things though and inputting hers just to be safe."How do you even know all of that?" Maple eyed her suspiciously."Well actually..." Scarlett tried to explain but she was interrupted by Maple."Don't tell if you don't want to. I can't take it when you lie to me" Maple sighed with a dejected look. Ajax wasn't the only reason she was stressed, she had no idea what Scarlett must be going through but she wasn't telling her about it.Seeing the atmosphere becoming awkward she decided to change the topic."Where are your ghost frien

It was still advised to log out at least once in two months. As SSO was a prototype it could have many unforeseen side effects, well at least that's what the students thought and the only thing keeping them at bay were these thoughts.Scarlett made her way into the busy market looking for any life-saving tool although she already had one, it didn't hurt to have another. Losing her hard earn levels was a nightmare, not because she was afraid to fight more creatures but because she had no time. It was just a week before the assessment and losing just one level could spell the end for you.She then walked into a store that sold accessories made of jade. Most life-saving tools were accessories so a good start."Welcome, welcome!!" an enthusiastic voice came from the other side of the counter."Hello?" Scarlett tilted her head in confusion. Instructor Talon corrected again messaging his temples."I'm trying but it's hard, being on fire without actually catching fire, what do I even need that for, assessment is just next week. Maple stood outside Scarlett's room, trying to comprehend what she was seeing."You guys?" she asked confused. When Scarlett started letting out curses, she knew something was up. "Scarlett?""You can see us?" Scott asked shocked. Being seen in SSO was rotatably different from being seen in real life and they all knew that. In fact, Maple just did them a favor by discovering them in the room, imagine they suddenly appeared in the class like they normally did, the outcome would be disastrous."What kind of question is that?" Maple frowned. "Scarlett?""I'm sorry for hiding it from you" Scarlett sighed, but the others had a change in expression."What are you doing Scarlett?" Bruce asked with a serious expression."What? I have to tell her about you guys at least.
