Leonard walked into the house looking exhausted. He heard some whispers and sighs of someone crying and decided to walk slowly and quietly so as not to be heard.

"So father actually gave the position up to Melvin after all you have done? After all the stress you went through" Catherine said with a sniff.

"Yes darling, but I'm not worried after all we are all Marshalls and it doesn't really matter who handles the contract all that matters is that we won the contract," Shadrach replied with a sad smile.

"But you got no credit for what you did. It's not fair, father's being unfair to us. I will go now and speak to him," Catherine said, wiping her tears and standing up.

Shadrach held her hand, stopping her. "No, don't. The decision was actually for the best because if I had been given that position, I would not be able to spend time with you like I do."

    Everyone stared at Leonard with horror, their eyes had seen the unspeakable. Everyone was stunned to pieces. The box laid empty at his feet, its glow extinguished.
