The pain was far beyond anything Qing Zilong had ever endured. The moment his entire body submerged into the purple pool, it felt as if millions of invisible needles were piercing every inch of his skin simultaneously.
"UAAARGHHH!"
A roar of agony echoed throughout the hall. The once-still pool water suddenly surged violently. Waves of spiritual energy exploded from the bottom, transforming into a vortex that mercilessly swirled around Zilong’s body.
BZZZZTTT!
The energy was not merely being absorbed; it was forcing its way in. The dense purple Qi hammered against his Dantian repeatedly like a giant hammer forging metal. Every impact made Zilong’s body shudder violently. It felt as though thousands of sword blades were slicing through his insides, while a fire incinerated his internal organs.
"Damn it..." Zilong hissed, gritting his teeth.
Before he could even catch his breath, the next burst of energy slammed into him.
BOOOM!
"Ughh!"
A mouthful of blood sprayed from his lips. His body was thrown backward until it slammed into the edge of the pool with a resounding thud. However, before he could rise, the vortex of Qi pulled his body back into the center of the pool.
Craaak...
Fine cracks appeared along his arms. Fresh blood seeped from his pores. Moments later, the bleeding intensified, turning the once clear purple pool into a deep, dark red. The sound of bones grinding against each other was clearly audible.
Krak... Krak... Krak...
The meridians that had been forged only moments ago were tearing again. Each tear brought a wave of pain that nearly knocked the breath out of Zilong.
"If an ordinary person were here," he muttered with a bitter smile, "they would have died countless times over by now."
His body continued to tremble. His eyelids began to grow heavy, and his consciousness was slowly being pulled into the darkness.
"No..."
Zilong bit his own tongue. The sharp pain forced him to stay awake. "I cannot pass out. If I cannot even endure pain like this, how can I ever hope to return to being the Sword God?"
His gaze sharpened once more. He focused all his consciousness into his Dantian. Instead of fighting, he began to guide the rampaging energy to follow his new meridian pathways. However, every time one stream of Qi was successfully controlled, three others would flare up in revolt.
"Still not enough. If my Dantian shatters now, all my efforts will have been in vain."
Zilong forced his body to sit cross-legged at the bottom of the pool. His hands formed a cultivation seal. The purple Qi spun faster and more wildly. The pain intensified tenfold, bringing his body to the brink of collapse. Yet, his expression grew increasingly calm.
This place was truly not meant for low-level cultivators. Su Qian had built this place for himself back when he had reached the King Realm—when his body had already been tempered thousands of times. Now, he was using these facilities with a fragile mortal frame. This was no longer just practice; it was a gamble of life and death.
Time seemed to stand still. One hour, two hours passed. The only thing remaining in his mind was a single resolution: endure.
Little by little, the wild vortex of energy began to slow. The purple Qi now flowed obediently along the new meridian pathways. His Dantian began to expand and harden. Every crack was slowly mended by a layer of far purer energy. The pain gave way to a warm, restorative sensation.
Zilong’s breathing gradually stabilized. He opened his eyes. A deep purple flash emanated from his pupils. He clenched his fist, feeling the much more powerful flow of Qi. His Dantian now possessed a capacity ten times larger than before.
However, Zilong showed no joy. He only shook his head slowly. "That is just the foundation. The journey is still very long."
He stood up. The water in the pool, once purple, was now clear, as if all its essence had been completely absorbed. His body was covered in wounds and dried blood, but his eyes were now far calmer and sharper. His gaze shifted to the other side of the hall, where a hidden stone room lay.
Once he passed through the pulsing formation layer, a simple room was revealed. There was no gold or divine weaponry, only a stone shelf, an old altar, and a dragon-carved storage ring.
"It’s still here..."
He reached out. But as his fingertip nearly touched the surface of the ring, a small bolt of purple flame struck his palm. Zilong did not pull his hand away. He smiled thinly. "It still recognizes intruders, I see."
Without hesitation, Qing Zilong bit his fingertip, letting a drop of fresh blood fall onto the ring’s surface.
Sret.
The moment the blood touched the cold metal, the dull dragon carving suddenly emitted a blinding golden light. The entire ring vibrated softly, releasing ripples of spiritual energy that swept through every corner of the room.
Bzzzz...
The light grew brighter. The ancient formations that had sealed access to the ring for millions of years slowly unraveled one by one, as if recognizing the aura of its true master once again.
Qing Zilong narrowed his eyes, observing every strand of fading energy. "The seal is finally broken..."
He immediately channeled a thread of spiritual consciousness into the ring. Instantly, the mental bond that had been severed for millions of years was perfectly re-established. The corner of Qing Zilong’s mouth slowly curled into a faint smile.
"Still intact," he muttered.
Through his spiritual consciousness, he pierced into the vast dimensional space before him. Piles of Spirit Stones, rows of jade bottles containing elixirs, scrolls of ancient techniques, and various precious artifacts he had stored millions of years ago were still arranged neatly, as if time had never touched them at all.
Qing Zilong let out a long breath, releasing the tension that had been gripping his shoulders. "It seems... all my preparations from back then were not in vain."

Zilong paid no heed to the insult. Instead he tilted his head upward, observing the evening sky that was beginning to turn orange-red. The day was growing late. If he wasted too much time here, tomorrow’s travel schedule would be disrupted. He had not the slightest patience to entertain a group of spoiled children like them.Zilong turned away once more. But Luo Chen moved quickly, blocking his path again. “You seem quite certain that no one in this city can force you, don’t you?”Zilong regarded the youth in silence for several moments. “Indeed.”Luo Chen laughed lightly, his tone mocking. “Even your cultivation realm cannot be clearly read. Are you hiding it?”“Correct.”“Then how are we supposed to know that you are truly as strong as the people outside claim?”Zilong shrugged indifferently. “You have no need to know.”He stepped forward, walking straight past Luo Chen’s side. The pursuer behind them clenched his fists in fury. “Qin Zilong!” he called in a raised voice.Zilong stop

BLACK CLOUD CITY.Qin Zilong halted for a moment. “So I am passing through this place once more.”Vague memories of his previous visit flickered through his mind—the Spirit Pill Pavilion, the bustling auction hall, Mu Yanshan, and several cunning faces that had once regarded him with calculating eyes.Zilong shook his head slightly. This place has nothing more to do with me.He entered the city without paying much attention to his surroundings. His purpose was simple: to purchase a few travel necessities before continuing toward the Heavenly Sword Sect.Yet after walking only a few hundred steps past the gate… his feet stopped. An extremely familiar aura had been caught by his spiritual sense. Zilong raised his gaze. In front of a luxurious restaurant, several men had just emerged.Among them stood someone he knew very well—a cultivator in gray robes who had once been one of his long-time pursuers. The gray-robed man’s eyes met Zilong’s at once. His face froze rigid.Him… the man thou

Several days had already passed since Qin Zilong left the Southern Cloud Sword Sect. Yet his footsteps showed not the slightest sign of a man racing against time. The mountain path stretched long before him, flanked by green trees that swayed gently in the breeze. Now and then, sunlight pierced through gaps in the foliage and fell in golden patches upon the ground.Zilong walked with both hands hidden within the sleeves of his robe. His steps were light, calm, and unhurried in the least. With the strength he now possessed, he could have accelerated his journey many times over. Had he truly employed the Light Body Art, the distance to the Heavenly Sword Sect could have been shortened drastically.Yet Zilong chose not to do so. Instead, he simply enjoyed the journey at a leisurely pace. The mountain wind brushed softly against his face, carrying the mingled scents of earth, leaves, and morning dew. From time to time the cries of spirit birds drifted from afar. It had been a long while s

Morning sunlight touched his face as Qin Zilong left the main hall. Mountain wind blew gently, sending his black robe fluttering behind him. He paused for a moment on the final step, savoring a brief silence before the real storm began. Before him, a long road stretched down the mountain ridge.Yet this time, his footsteps did not move at once.Zilong gazed far toward the horizon, piercing the thin mist that blanketed the eastern sky. Beyond those clusters of mountains lay a world far wider, wilder, and far more cruel. The Heaven Sect. The place where geniuses from every direction gathered. The place where absolute strength determined who had the right to stand tall and who must kneel upon the ground. And in that place as well… a young man named Qin Zilong had once lost everything. His fingers slowly clenched at his sides.Memories that did not entirely belong to his own soul flashed through his mind once more—a painful memory of a body lying near death in the middle of the Black Mist

News of Qin Zilong’s return spread quickly all the way to the residences of the elders. Not long after, Zilong already stood upright inside the main hall of the sect. The Great Elder, Gu Yan, Shen Luo, and Bai He were already there to receive him. The moment the hall doors opened and Zilong stepped inside, several pairs of eyes immediately fixed sharply upon him.The Great Elder observed the young man from head to toe. “You returned faster than we expected.”“The two-month time limit is almost up,” Zilong answered in a calm tone. “I have no reason to linger there any longer.”The Great Elder nodded slowly. “How is your cultivation?”Zilong smiled faintly. “It has improved a little.”Several elders in the room exchanged glances upon hearing such an overly simple answer. Yet none of them dared to underestimate those words. The Great Elder did not even attempt to examine Zilong’s cultivation level with his spiritual senses; he already understood full well that if Qin Zilong wished to con

In less than an hour, the dense rows of trees began to thin. The majestic buildings of the Southern Cloud Sword Sect gradually appeared in the distance, flanked by a sturdy gate standing between two enormous stone pillars.Beneath that gate, two figures were waiting anxiously.Han Wei stood with both arms folded across his chest, occasionally shifting his gaze toward the forest path before looking back at the gate. Beside him, Lin Yue leaned casually against one of the stone pillars.“He should have returned by now,” Lin Yue said, breaking the silence.Han Wei furrowed his brow. “Don’t be too sure.”“Why?”“Because if Young Master Qin hasn’t returned yet, you won’t be able to do anything to find him either.”Lin Yue exhaled a long breath. “I’m only speaking of the possibility.”Han Wei was about to reply when the movement of his lips suddenly stopped. His eyes locked onto a figure walking out from behind the dense trees.A torn black robe. Calm footsteps. A face they knew very well.H
