Qing Zilong slowly withdrew his spiritual consciousness from the storage ring. He stood still for a moment, letting his breath steady before he began to examine the inheritance he had left for himself millions of years ago.
The corners of his lips lifted slightly. "I hope time has not claimed everything."
His spiritual consciousness swept through the storage space. The stone shelves remained neatly arranged. Some jade boxes were still tightly sealed, while others were covered in a thin layer of dust due to the immense passage of time.
Zilong stepped closer. His hand reached for a white jade bottle.
Click.
The lid popped open, and a dense medicinal aroma immediately filled the room.
"Hmm, Meridian Recovery Pill," he muttered. He poured one pill into his palm. Its surface was still polished, and the medicinal energy within remained stable. "Still usable."
Zilong placed the pill back into the bottle and moved on to the next one. But when he opened the lid—
Puff...
Gray ash flew out. There were no pills left inside; only fine powder remained, devoid of even a sliver of spiritual energy. Zilong shook his head slowly. "Time truly knows no mercy."
He discarded the contents of the bottle. He checked the others one by one; some were still intact, but most had lost their potency. Even so, Zilong showed no disappointment. To him, being able to preserve even a fraction of the medicine after a million years was already a miracle.
His gaze then landed on several clear crystals neatly arranged in the corner of the storage room. He picked one up, and as his spiritual energy touched the crystal's surface, a soft light emanated from it.
"The vacuum seal still works," Zilong nodded with satisfaction. "This Spirit Stone still holds near-perfect Qi."
Not far from there, an old silver scroll caught his eye. A smile reappeared on his face. "Thankfully, this one still survives."
He unfurled the scroll. In an instant, thousands of ancient characters floated out, transforming into a stream of light that seeped into his forehead. Zilong closed his eyes, allowing the Qi in his meridians to move along the new path he had just learned.
A few moments later, the dense purple aura that had been enveloping his body slowly faded, then vanished without a trace. He opened his eyes and raised his right hand.
"Perfect enough," he stated. Now, anyone looking at him would see only a young cultivator with low cultivation. No one would suspect that hidden within that body lay the soul of a Sword God.
Zilong stored the scroll. "For now, this is enough."
He turned to leave, but his steps suddenly faltered. His brow furrowed. "Strange... I feel as if something is missing."
He approached the edge of the pool again. His consciousness spread slowly, scouring every inch of the pool's bottom until— thump. He felt a very faint pulse.
"So you were hiding here," he whispered, a smirk playing on his lips.
Without hesitation, Zilong dived in. The deeper he went, the stronger the spiritual pressure became. Finally, his feet touched the bottom of the pool. Amidst the dark rocks, a purple crystal the size of a fist pulsed slowly, absorbing the Qi of heaven and earth to convert it into droplets of spiritual water.
"Heart of the Purple Spirit Spring," Zilong whispered softly. "I almost forgot about you."
He reached out, but just as his fingertip was about to touch the crystal—
BZZZZTTT!
A flash of purple light struck his palm. Zilong pulled his hand back with a small smile. "Still protecting yourself, I see."
He took a deep breath, then began to form hand seals. Dozens of ancient symbols emerged, circling the crystal. The process was incredibly complex; Zilong had to sever the flow of Qi that had been integrated with the formation for millions of years.
WUUUNG...
The crystal vibrated violently. Tiny cracks began to spread across the bottom of the pool.
"Patience," Zilong whispered. "I won't destroy you."
He adjusted his seal, channeling his Primal Purple Qi to soothe the crystal's core. Little by little, the vibrations subsided. The final connection was finally severed.
HUMMMM...
The Heart of the Purple Spirit Spring slowly levitated. At the same time, the entire hall shook. The spiritual water that had filled the place for so long lost its energy source, turning into ordinary water within a few breaths.
Zilong stared at the crystal in his hand. "For a million years, you have performed your duty well."
He placed it into his storage ring. Inside the ring's spiritual space, the crystal floated calmly, beginning to absorb Qi and produce new droplets of spiritual water.
Zilong looked around. The entire hall, previously filled with light, now turned dull. The stone shelves and the altar lost their magical luster. The concealment formation that had held for millions of years finally ceased its rotation.
"It is time to leave."
Qing Zilong walked out calmly. As soon as he passed through the stone gate, GRROOOOMMMM! The massive door slammed shut with a thunderous roar that shook the entire mountain.
The thick mist that had shrouded the area for millions of years began to dissipate, revealing the stone cliff that had been hidden all this time.
At the foot of the mountain, two wandering cultivators who were hunting suddenly stopped in their tracks.
"Look!" One of them pointed to the peak. His companion looked up, eyes widening.
"That... is that a stone gate? Hasn't this mountain always been covered in fog?"
They looked at each other with pale faces. "Go! We must tell everyone!" Both immediately turned, running as fast as they could toward Dawn City.
Meanwhile, Qing Zilong had walked far into the darkness of the night without looking back even once. He was unaware that from that night on, the legend of the Sword King's Tomb, which had been considered a mere fairy tale, had resurfaced.
And along with it, the Eastern Region slowly began to drift toward a much greater storm.

Zilong paid no heed to the insult. Instead he tilted his head upward, observing the evening sky that was beginning to turn orange-red. The day was growing late. If he wasted too much time here, tomorrow’s travel schedule would be disrupted. He had not the slightest patience to entertain a group of spoiled children like them.Zilong turned away once more. But Luo Chen moved quickly, blocking his path again. “You seem quite certain that no one in this city can force you, don’t you?”Zilong regarded the youth in silence for several moments. “Indeed.”Luo Chen laughed lightly, his tone mocking. “Even your cultivation realm cannot be clearly read. Are you hiding it?”“Correct.”“Then how are we supposed to know that you are truly as strong as the people outside claim?”Zilong shrugged indifferently. “You have no need to know.”He stepped forward, walking straight past Luo Chen’s side. The pursuer behind them clenched his fists in fury. “Qin Zilong!” he called in a raised voice.Zilong stop

BLACK CLOUD CITY.Qin Zilong halted for a moment. “So I am passing through this place once more.”Vague memories of his previous visit flickered through his mind—the Spirit Pill Pavilion, the bustling auction hall, Mu Yanshan, and several cunning faces that had once regarded him with calculating eyes.Zilong shook his head slightly. This place has nothing more to do with me.He entered the city without paying much attention to his surroundings. His purpose was simple: to purchase a few travel necessities before continuing toward the Heavenly Sword Sect.Yet after walking only a few hundred steps past the gate… his feet stopped. An extremely familiar aura had been caught by his spiritual sense. Zilong raised his gaze. In front of a luxurious restaurant, several men had just emerged.Among them stood someone he knew very well—a cultivator in gray robes who had once been one of his long-time pursuers. The gray-robed man’s eyes met Zilong’s at once. His face froze rigid.Him… the man thou

Several days had already passed since Qin Zilong left the Southern Cloud Sword Sect. Yet his footsteps showed not the slightest sign of a man racing against time. The mountain path stretched long before him, flanked by green trees that swayed gently in the breeze. Now and then, sunlight pierced through gaps in the foliage and fell in golden patches upon the ground.Zilong walked with both hands hidden within the sleeves of his robe. His steps were light, calm, and unhurried in the least. With the strength he now possessed, he could have accelerated his journey many times over. Had he truly employed the Light Body Art, the distance to the Heavenly Sword Sect could have been shortened drastically.Yet Zilong chose not to do so. Instead, he simply enjoyed the journey at a leisurely pace. The mountain wind brushed softly against his face, carrying the mingled scents of earth, leaves, and morning dew. From time to time the cries of spirit birds drifted from afar. It had been a long while s

Morning sunlight touched his face as Qin Zilong left the main hall. Mountain wind blew gently, sending his black robe fluttering behind him. He paused for a moment on the final step, savoring a brief silence before the real storm began. Before him, a long road stretched down the mountain ridge.Yet this time, his footsteps did not move at once.Zilong gazed far toward the horizon, piercing the thin mist that blanketed the eastern sky. Beyond those clusters of mountains lay a world far wider, wilder, and far more cruel. The Heaven Sect. The place where geniuses from every direction gathered. The place where absolute strength determined who had the right to stand tall and who must kneel upon the ground. And in that place as well… a young man named Qin Zilong had once lost everything. His fingers slowly clenched at his sides.Memories that did not entirely belong to his own soul flashed through his mind once more—a painful memory of a body lying near death in the middle of the Black Mist

News of Qin Zilong’s return spread quickly all the way to the residences of the elders. Not long after, Zilong already stood upright inside the main hall of the sect. The Great Elder, Gu Yan, Shen Luo, and Bai He were already there to receive him. The moment the hall doors opened and Zilong stepped inside, several pairs of eyes immediately fixed sharply upon him.The Great Elder observed the young man from head to toe. “You returned faster than we expected.”“The two-month time limit is almost up,” Zilong answered in a calm tone. “I have no reason to linger there any longer.”The Great Elder nodded slowly. “How is your cultivation?”Zilong smiled faintly. “It has improved a little.”Several elders in the room exchanged glances upon hearing such an overly simple answer. Yet none of them dared to underestimate those words. The Great Elder did not even attempt to examine Zilong’s cultivation level with his spiritual senses; he already understood full well that if Qin Zilong wished to con

In less than an hour, the dense rows of trees began to thin. The majestic buildings of the Southern Cloud Sword Sect gradually appeared in the distance, flanked by a sturdy gate standing between two enormous stone pillars.Beneath that gate, two figures were waiting anxiously.Han Wei stood with both arms folded across his chest, occasionally shifting his gaze toward the forest path before looking back at the gate. Beside him, Lin Yue leaned casually against one of the stone pillars.“He should have returned by now,” Lin Yue said, breaking the silence.Han Wei furrowed his brow. “Don’t be too sure.”“Why?”“Because if Young Master Qin hasn’t returned yet, you won’t be able to do anything to find him either.”Lin Yue exhaled a long breath. “I’m only speaking of the possibility.”Han Wei was about to reply when the movement of his lips suddenly stopped. His eyes locked onto a figure walking out from behind the dense trees.A torn black robe. Calm footsteps. A face they knew very well.H
