Chapter 4: A Mistake

Emily was aware that Kevin deserved better. Despite this, he was never able to satisfy her financial needs. Aaron, on the other hand, is wealthy and would look after her in any situation. As a result of Kevin's inability to purchase even a single dress, Emily made the decision to move on from him. After she accepted Aaron, he went out on a date with her and spent more than shopping.

Emily had already decided to end her relationship with Kevin when he arrived at Godfrey villa at night. Due to the fact that he is currently here, he cannot escape the inevitable. For  what use is a brokeass?

Is this how Emily wants to repay him? Kevin became enraged as he approached Emily with his fist clenched. He felt as though a knife had pierced his heart.

"What's my offense Emily?" With tears welling up in his eyes, Kevin said. 

"What are you doing here?" Attempting to change the subject of the conversation, Emily asked.

"It is, of course, my job. During the time that I have been absent, this is what you have been doing, right?” In a fit of fury, Kevin expounded his thoughts. Emily felt frightened since she had never witnessed Kevin displaying such a level of anger before.

“This is ridiculous,  allow her to be. Who are you? What do you think you are up to? Get lost right away you brokeass.” Aron came to Emily's defense. 

In spite of the fact that Kevin and Emily have been in a relationship in the past, he cannot allow a lowly delivery guy to have such a beautiful woman all to himself.

“You asked me who I am, didn't you? I walked in on you while you are grinding my girl naked? Who are you rather?. Kevin said.

"Your girl?" Aaron responded to Kevin's disparaging words with a question.

“If you cannot afford a dress, you have already lost her! You should just leave her out of your life because she is no longer yours.” Aaron mocked Kevin.

This confirms the conversation that Kevin had overheard earlier on when Emily had called him. There is no doubt that Aaron is the one that his mother-in-law was referring to; yet, Kevin requires confirmation from Emily that she is divorcing him.

"Emily is that true?" As Kevin looked into Emily's eyes, he asked. 

At the time that Emily called Kevin for the first time, she was with her friends. She was made fun of by her friends when they discovered that Kevin was unable to afford the party dress. They had suggested that she end her relationship with Kevin.

"I'm breaking up with you!" Emily said. 

Kevin felt as if he had been hit by lightning.

"You are breaking up with me? Were we not in love with one another?” It seemed as though Kevin's entire world was falling apart as he stutteringly said.

"Just a common dress Kevin!" Before proceeding, Emily took a little pause.

“Every single one of my friends' boyfriends is wealthy and takes them on exciting vacations and shopping. And then there was you, Kevin, who turned me into a laughingstock.” Emily stated this without showing any sign of emotion.

"It's my payday, I will make sure to bring you the dress today. There is always a way out, Emily, you are aware of that.” Kevin stated in a tone that was composed because he loves Emily with all of his heart, he cannot afford to lose her.

"For God's sake, Kevin, you need your payday in order to be able to afford a dress! You are too poor for my liking. I can't continue doing this." Emily remarked, breaking Kevin's heart.

“Does the dress appear to be the source of the issue? I assure you that I will acquire the dress. I still love you, Emily. Now, let's pretend that this never took place.” Without taking into account the fact that Emily was the one who had cheated, Kevin begged in an attempt to save his relationship.

"Love? " You cannot afford a beggar’s love, talkless of mine. I have moved on from you! I am now in possession of a man who is capable of providing for my needs. Take a look around you.” Emily said while pointing to the numerous shopping boxes.

“Have you seen all of these? A man like you is the one who has me completely captivated. Can you afford it? I'm confident that you wouldn't, even if you worked your whole life.” Emily added. 

"Darling, he is not even capable of affording a night here, let alone a dress. How come you ended up with this pathetic peasant. You can do better!" Aaron said, mocking Kevin.

During the moment that Kevin was still, he skipped within while recollections of the time he had spent together with Emily flew before his eyes. Until today, Kevin had never once felt sorrow about his current financial situation. The fact that he was poor is the sole reason he is losing Emily.

“To this very moment, I can't believe that I have been able to keep up with him. He is nothing but a mistake!” Emily responded.

“Hey mistake! Today is not your day; you should just walk away.” Aaron tapped Kevin on the shoulder which jolted him back to reality.

With the news that Emily is ending her relationship with Kevin, Kevin's worst nightmare came true. He is not, however, going to let her go without a fight.

“Don't forget where we got started. What exactly did I do wrong?” Kevin eventually spoke up and said something.

"Not a single memory comes to mind; being with you, Kevin, was a living nightmare for me. I can not continue doing this any longer. Just as I mentioned earlier, it is over between the two of us.” Emily said. She can no longer wait to finally get rid of Kevin.

For all intents and purposes, he is destroying the moment she is having with her adorable Aaron.

"Get out of this place right now, we are no longer in need of your service." Kevin was given the order to depart by Aaron.

Despite this, Kevin approached Aaron with his arm clenched in a fist since he thought that he had already had enough of Aaron. Due to the fact that Aaron did not have sufficient time to avoid the punch, it ended up landing on his face. 

"How dare you peasant hit me." A furious Aaron remarked.
