Sophia nodded, collecting the card with shaking hands.

Just at this moment Sophia's phone rang and immediately she brought out her phone only to see it was her father.

“Father? Yes... yes!”

Sophia's eyes lit up as she clutched her phone.

“Dr.Kyle will see Grandfather? We're coming right away!”

She turned to her brother, her joy replacing her earlier despair.

“One of the top 5 physicians in the country, Dr Kyle has agreed to treat Grandfather... he will be fine now!”

Hanging up the phone, both of them went back to their car and drove home immediately without paying any more attention to Damien.

Looking at their backs, Damien shook his head and turned to leave.

He offered to help them because he had the responsibility to keep his promise for Master Raymond.

The old man's disease was extremely rare, and no one could cure it except him and Master Raymond.

But it was obvious that they didn't trust him at the moment, so there was no need for him to force it.

Not long after the Golden Estate rose before Damien like a mountain of glass and steel, a far cry from the modest stone mansions he remembered from his childhood.

Towering residential palaces stretched toward the clouds, their windows reflecting the midday sun like thousands of gleaming eyes.

Security checkpoints had replaced the old garden paths, and automated gates now stood where elderly guards once dozed in the shade of ancient willows.

“Many years ago,”

Damien murmured to himself. He still remembered running through these streets as a boy back then.

Moments later, Damien arrived at Serenity's grandfather's Villa which was located at the other side of the estate.

“You!”

A sharp voice cut through the opulent silence.

Damien then turned to the direction of the voice.

There she stood - War Goddess Serenity, resplendent in her military uniform adorned with gleaming medals. Her beauty was legendary, but her eyes held only ice as they fell upon Damien.

“How dare you show your face here?”

she spat, each word dripping with disdain.

“Did my letter not make it clear enough for your dump mind to comprehend?”

However Damian maintained his calm, hands clasped behind his back.

“I received your letter.”

“Then you're even more foolish than I imagined,”

she laughed coldly.

“Look at yourself - a nobody from nowhere, thinking he can marry the War Goddess? Do you know how many noble houses and top families seek alliance with me? ”

“I didn't come here to see you, I'm here to see your grandfather, because only him can cancel the engagement.”

Damien stated simply.

The change was instant. Serenity's face contorted with fury, her hand flying to the customized golden pistol at her hip.

“You... you DARE?”

Her voice shook with rage.

“My grandfather lies in a coma, and you have the audacity to make such a request?”

Her eyes narrowed dangerously. “Now I understand - you heard about his condition, didn't you? and you came running here because you knew he couldn't wake up to cancel the engagement himself!”

Upon hearing Serenity accusations, Damien frowned.

“Your grandfather's condition?”

“I wasn't aware he was ill.”

War Goddess Serenity's already deadly eyes turned even more deadlier, her composure flickered for just a moment.

She studied Damien with razor-sharp intensity, searching for any hint of pretense in his expression.

Her hand was still tightened on her customized golden pistol, knuckles whitening beneath her military gloves.

“You think I'm lying?”

War Goddess Serenity's laugh held a sharp edge.

“Very well. Follow me, since you're so determined to see him.”

Her military boots clicked against the marble floors as she led Damien up a grand spiral staircase.

“Perhaps this will finally end your pathetic pursuit of something you can't have.”

Damien didn't say anything.

The door to the top floor room opened, and it was turned into a medical suite. Advanced monitoring equipment beeped softly, their screens displaying vital signs in holographic detail.

At that moment Damien's breath caught as he approached the bed. The elderly man lay perfectly still, his skin holding a subtle greenish tint that the other doctors had likely dismissed. But Damien recognized it instantly - Seven Stars Spirit Poison, a legendary toxin that hadn't been seen in centuries.

“Your Grandfather has been poisoned,”

Damien spoke quietly, his trained eyes catching the distinctive pulse patterns at Serenity grandfather's throat.

“The Seven Stars variant, complicated by—”

“Poisoned?”

Serenity cut him off with a sneer.

“Our top medical experts found no poison. Yet you waltz in here, claiming to spot in seconds what they couldn't find in months?”

She crossed her arms, her medals in her chest clinking.

“Let me guess - you just happen to know the cure?”

Damien nodded solemnly.

“It needs 10 kinds of rare herbs. Combined with—”

“Enough!!”

Serenity's voice cracked like a whip.

“You've seen him. He clearly cannot cancel the engagement. Was that not your real purpose here? To confirm he's truly incapacitated?”

Damien didn't say anything, if not for his master words he would have walked away.

“I'll find the herbs,”

Damien stated simply, turning toward the door.

“ I need your grandfather to annul our engagement himself, you're not worth my time.”

Upon hearing what Damen just said, Serenity eyes Squinted. but she pretended his words didn't get to her.

“Still playing the noble healer?” Serenity's words dripped with venom.

“First you invent a poison only you know about, now you miraculously know its cure? Your desperation to stay connected to my family grows more pathetic by the minute, and it disgusts me.”

At that moment Serenity pointed at the door.

“Get out!”

Her voice cracked.

“Get out and don't you dare return with your lies and false hopes! or I will cut off your arms.”

Damien did even turn around as he walked out of the Villa.

Serenity's eyes were still filled with rage when her phone rang.

Dr.Kyle's name flashed on the screen, making her heart race as she answered the call immediately.

“War Goddess Serenity,”

His grave voice carried the weight of authority.

“I've completed my analysis concerning your grandfather.”

Immediately Serenity straightened instinctively.

“Please, Doctor, tell me what you've found.”

“After extensive laboratory testing and consultation with international experts, we've identified the toxin.” He paused.

“It's the Seven Stars Spirit Poison, an ancient poison thought lost to history.”

The phone nearly slipped from Serenity's suddenly numb fingers. ‘Seven Stars... exactly what that trash had...’

He glanced at Serenity, silently aligning himself with her stance, before addressing Sophia’s family directly.“I understand your hesitation,” Dr.Elvis began, his voice measured and deliberate. “You’re protecting someone who has done a great service for your family, and that’s commendable. She crossed her arms, her posture exuding quiet confidence, but internally, her thoughts were anything but neutral.“Here we go again,”she mused, her lips pressing into a faint smirk.“Always in the middle of something, always scheming.”She had seen enough of Damien to form her own conclusions. To her, he was nothing more than a cunning opportunist, someone who knew how to manipulate people, and situations to his advantage. The way he had navigated the Ryan's family and collected the exclusive card in the process only fueled her belief that he thrived on clever deceptions. And now, with Mr. Leo standing before him, Serenity couldn't help but scoff inwardly. Without being told she could tell he was up to something again, and from the look of things Mr. Leo is falling into his tricks. At that moment She observed Mr. Leo’s cautious demeanor, the way he seemed to tread lightly a
